They are hard to remove because they are dry and cracked. They don't peel because when you pull on them, the vinyl fails before the adhesive lets go.
Strategy is to attack the adhesive. If you go to an auto parts store (or Amazon), you can find adhesive remover spray that's meant for cars. Be careful just getting a generic GooGone or something super strong from Home Depot or whatever. The stuff at an auto store is meant to be gentle on paint.
I've had a lot of good luck debading cars with this: https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-T-529-Sticker-Remover/dp/B004M3F5CO/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=turtle+wax+adhesive+remover&qid=1560888348&s=gateway&sr=8-4
Spray it, let it sit for a couple minutes, and usually that adhesive starts to melt and you can just ball the decal up by rubbing your fingers on it.
As was said before, heat gun can also help.
completely off the wrap topic..... have you seen the VViViD knife? it looks identical to that Beadtive knife..... anyone know anything on this?
My opinion to take trim off it’s too long , will spend half time to wrap it believe me just get special knife for vinyl practice on something , look guy ckwraps on YouTube and u be pro like me I’m week )

You can use this we had a transit that we wrapped the side and on the rear panel the customer wanted to put a promotion so we applied this and wrapped the whole panel again and left it on for a while and when he wanted to go back to the normal wrap we just pulled it off without damaging the vinyl under it.
I know this isn't specifically a "vehicle" application, but is there a way to add car vinyl to the large bevels of a guitar body (similar to the photo) and end up with really clean lines?
The example above with red bevels is factory painted this way. The second photo is the guitar I have coming and want to modify (it has a satin/matte charcoal finish, which I want to pair with a satin or gloss metallic lime green wrap vinyl, like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DGNP86M).
Thanks!
Best idea I’ve head yet like this: roll
Would just need to find a wide roll ideally I am going to cop a little to try first
Interesting.
Now I'm second guessing myself. I'm partially wrapping the hood of my car and bought this to make the cut along the edge of the hood accent (2020 Subaru Outback). Will it work or should I ditch it for some of that Design Line?
Could try an adhesive remover like this. It may help loosen the wrap up a bit. But heat gun and time are the most reliable methods.
Just finished removing a gloss black wrap from my roof with similar deterioration. Typically happens from the sun and exposure to elements over time. Tried all the traditional routes of heat, plastic scrapers, etc. Only thing that worked was a power drill and an eraser wheel.
Something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00FJF0O2K/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_HTYVT463NQE4B3AH9S3R
I've seen other people use a steamer as well. If you have access to that, its likely a bit easier.
Aye - it is. I bought a gallon from Amazon for $24
I learned that lesson also on my wife's new car. What I found out is that I should have just used 3m adhesive remover in the red/white can.

Lol really I think the vivid one I got was kind of thick but it was thick because of the texture that came with it and it looks kind of matte but a little shiny as well like right in the middle that’s the one I got idk if it’s the one you used too it didn’t have any bubbles at all either

thanks! would this be matte or glossy, and is there a version for that wrap that is this big? https://www.amazon.com/YRYM-HT-White-Adhesive-Vinyl/dp/B082YTH236/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=white+vinyl+wrapkeyboard&qid=1599697413&sr=8-1
This Knifeless Tape seems to come highly recommended for making easier, risk-free cuts:
You can see examples of people using it on youtube to get the most out of it.
Would something like CMX surface prep work?
I was looking up vivid’s ceramic coating on vinyls Do you think this will work?
I'm using "Ehdis" - I think that's a generic brand? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HEQF2CI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They don't have any felt on the bottom, just a piece of plastic.
These work really well for that, theyre also really good for lifting rubber to tuck
I'd like to wrap the fiberglass top of my Eurovan Camper in silver chrome. Paint is smooth and cleans up nice and I'll have JUST enough width out of a 60" piece that I could do it all w/ this: http://www.amazon.com/Silver-adhesive-release-Air-Free-3MIL-VViViD8/dp/B00L9J5K2Y/ref=sr_1_3?srs=9167379011&ie=UTF8&qid=1456880725&sr=8-3&keywords=silver+chrome
What do you think? Big piece is a fairly easy shape, right? Where on the smaller front piece should I start to manage that big depression?
edit: Also, can I wrap the relatively sharp corners w/o special cuts, just heat and stretch?
I am not sure if this is what you want, you could ask questions to whom purchased this item.
Is this square feet? Would this be enough? 3m Black vinyl
