Last summer Galveston security didn't want to let me bring on a corkscrew like this with a little knife on it. I broke the knife off and they let me bring it onboard.

I haven’t done it in the Marci Grass, but I was successful on the Panorama Last month.
The items I bring with me are a thin, flexible HDMI cable and a universal remote control. (I also bring a lightning to HDMI adapter for my iPhones and iPads, though you’ll need whatever adapter is appropriate for your device.)
The first thing I try is to simply change input. This is usually best done from a “normal” TV channel, so not the briefing channel and definitely not anything interactive as those are closer to webpages than channels.
If that doesn’t work, I’ve had success unplugging the network cable and then unplugging power and plugging it back in. That forces the TV to try and download its software confit, giving you extra time to set the input.
Good luck!
It is a great family activity. My kids just recently went for the first time in July and had a blast. For the kids I would focus on the waterpark and putt putt. They also have games etc depending on the ship.
For camp ocean (it is slowly changing based on covid recovery) we had two sets of drop off times:
Look for activities hosted by Camp Ocean. We did several family scavenger hunts and magic shows hosted by Camp Ocean. Also make sure they go the first day to meet people.

You get more seasick on smaller ships but if you are concerned about it you can try sea bands (wrist bands that apply pressure) or you can try patches (my kids needed the patches) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RHJKGE2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We also decorate our door with cut out pictures and things like wooden signs (anchors, etc) with names on them (my wife used the cricut) held up by magnets (you can get some high strength magnet hooks and use them on the door and the walls). It helps you remember which room you are in and it is cute. On our last cruise we had two rooms and did a sea theme with anchors and pirates with fish netting
If you sleep hot by all means take a fan. But it must be in your carry on, along with any wine or canned soda that you plan to take. That ship will probably be outlet poor, so I'd also suggest a strip but it cannot have a surge protector built in. You can find them on Amazon for fairly cheap. We use one with a straight plug in that has a circle of plugs and USB's as opposed to an actual plug straight in strip because some of those outlets are also in non convenient corners. I am probably describing that poorly and I've never learned how to post pics on here. I use this one - sorry for having to link it.
We use these ones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017BVFA00/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I would never risk stapling them on.
Did this on Disney with LARGE plastic containers that would appear as shampoo bottles on the scanner. I think we got in 3.5L of alcohol. link
My wife, daughter and my 10yo used these on our recent cruise:

I get motion sick on just about any moving thing. I just take a dose of this from Amazon. 1 per day, start the morning of your cruise about 4 hours before boarding.

Works great. The last cruise I took I even stopped taking a dose after day two because it was so smooth. Gave me confidence that I could try going without a dose on my next cruise.
It's also good to have one with a cord, not just an outlook multiplier. We have some of these: https://www.amazon.com/Cruise-Power-Strip-USB-Outlets/dp/B07BHVKPC3/ref=sr_1_5?crid=J0U6JVLWGRM4&keywords=cruise+outlet&qid=1656554109&sprefix=cruise+outlet%2Caps%2C113&sr=8-5
While they fit on the mardi gras they don't fit on spirit class ships.
You can buy a digital weight scale for luggage. Very useful. Here's one kind: https://www.amazon.com/Etekcity-Digital-Luggage-Scale-Temperature/dp/B00NW62PCA/ref=sr\_1\_2\_sspa?keywords=luggage+weight+scale&qid=1656415627&sprefix=luggage+wei%2Caps%2C105&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUE...
+1 for the nightlight. I really like this Crewell motion sensor usb nightlight. Bought the 2-pack, put one on each nightstand so both of us could easily grab one. Also used it for a business trip (non-cruise, in a hotel), worked out great!

Straw thing. They have sugar straws but wore this one around my neck for 3 or 4 cruises. https://www.amazon.com/POLIGO-Reusable-Stainless-Iridescent-Smoothies/dp/B08CN16B8P/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?crid=11PHIXTW2K1D3&keywords=metal+straw&qid=1654404363&sprefix=metal+draw%2Caps%2C87&sr=8-6
Just bring nice clothes for dinner and such. I mostly spend my day on beach shorts and [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AZS4B9C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5EEX19N4BFJTDPA8R08D](tank tops)
My wife on the other hand…. Yeah.
Trust me, nobody will look at you weird.

Cozumel? Get one of these.
Seriously, we went there three times and every time I caught a stupid cold. So I decided that if the Common Cold wanted to go on a cruise that badly, I'd just take him along with me!
I never caught a cold on a cruise after that. 👍🏻
And yes, I'm sort of joking. Sort of... and sort of not. 😹
I pack a European to US adapter like this.
I plug it into the European socket and can use it for additional USB ports and plugs. Just be aware that it is not a converter just an adapter. So make sure whatever electronics you plug into it specifically say 110-240v.
If you use a VPN, it’s doesn’t matter what they block or don’t block, so that’s your best plan. But here’s my advice.
Sign up for two different VPN providers, just buy a month, or subscribe and cancel latter. Purchase and install the VPN software BEFORE you travel. If you try and do it once you’re on-board it may be too late. The reason I suggest two is that the VPN client software might be blocked, and if it is, having a spare to try never hurts. I use IPVanish it’s pretty cheap and works well but they’re all more or less the same unless you have specific needs.
You are definitely going to need your cellphone for a-lot of ship information especially the muster station location, schedule of the day and for many other things. I used this crossbody cellphone and sail card holder. https://us.amazon.com/Touch-Screen-Purse-Greiner-Smartphones/dp/B087YRM4LY
My question would be: Where ya from? What you're used to is going to make a big difference, I'd think. We live at the south end of Lake Michigan. Decembers have been somewhat mild lately, but I personally only bring a nice pair of pants for dinner aside from shorts. It's a little breezy of course sometimes, but I was never once cold. The worst is going from the car to inside the airport, the whole trip, so I tend to wear the pants to travel in. One less thing to worry about packing.
I know there are a LOT of websites that do this, but I've been using windy.com for a few years before traveling. I can get weather, winds, waves, sea temperature, everything I want. For instance, seas are 3 feet just off of Coz today, with 85F water temps.
I get a lot of mileage out of that one.
Get one of these:

It lets you share a single internet account on multiple devices. Since you’re both gonna wanna be on Instagram and Facebook posting photos it’ll save you some money!
I'm not sure if you are, but if you're referring to my post about checking the CD schedule you can find it here:

I threw these in my suitcase in between all my clothes and was able to bring as much as I needed on board
