Without modifying anything, these are an easy answer. If you have an Aux in

The cars were only a part of it, mostly it came down to politics and a societal shift away from ‘the family car’. It’s explained brilliantly in Gideon Haigh’s End of the Road?
I reckon you would get away with it if you replace the low beam with a 5" low and high beam in one like this - https://www.amazon.com.au/GS-Powers-Chrome-style-Acutal/dp/B07F322727?th=1
That way, the car still has all its normal functions and might be considered more roadworthy?
Look, it's not perfect, but most flagship smartphones will pull a GPS Speed on a good app like Torque or literally GPS Test will pull within a 2% variance over your actual speed (so you're slower than indicated) most of the time (in my experience)
They're programmed to read over, not under.
Thank you both so much for the in-depth replies! i will be sure to do some research and implement this when Im buying a car. i do have my eye on one car https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3141348852605401/?ref=messenger_banner
It's been a while since I had a VW and that was a Golf, not a Tiggy. But in my 2011 Golf Mk6 it was indeed plug and play.
I'm guessing it will depend on what head unit you have now RCD310 or RNS510 and whether it has no bluetooth, or just Bluetooth for calls (9w2/9w3) etc. Plenty of information on Google. One complication I seem to recall is that cars built before 2011 are mono audio only to the Bluetooth module meaning...if you stream music it comes only from the right side. Needs some mucking around with wires to get it to work in stereo.
Which begs the question. Since it requires taking shit apart you might as well just replace it and go Android Auto/Carplay route with new head unit.
Before I installed the BT module in the Golf I survived with some device that plugged into the aux and broadcast Bluetooth for my phone to connect to. Like this: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B081GGB53R/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_dl_6HDZXKPHSPV8C7D8XQBB
Don't know if it'll be any good for calls though.
15K views on your latest upload is very good for 2.5K subscribers! Great work!
I'd highly recommend getting a lav mic for the standing shots as it's a bit echoey in the room.
Also if you are fliming on a phone (nothing wrong with that) I'd also recommend getting a gimbal for stabilisation, it will make a huge difference in your handheld shots. This one is on sale at the moment on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07RHJ7LWH
