Oof, that's tough my fellow Frenchman, I recommend checking out upwork.com, I recommend it to all my friends looking for some extra work in this harsh times, maybe it comes in handy. Stay strong! (and safe)
Yeah, that’s understandable and a rough situation...
See if you can cut more costs such as a Ring Alarm system (can be used with NO monthly fees while retaining 100% self-monitoring through your cell phone), Bottleless water machines (such as https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XJ86F7L/), and Electric Hand Dryers (such as https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D9RDBQW/).
Our pervious traditional alarm company was $80/month (we have three monitored spaces) that is now $8.33/month through Ring Alarm (we signed up for their annual monitoring plan). Our previous water bottle bill was $60/month for renting water machines and bi-weekly bottle exchanges that is now only $99/6-months for new filters, and I don’t remember the paper towel roll bills through ULINE but the electric hand dryers are much cheaper.
Best of all, we were able to purchase these using my Amazon Card with no interest for 24-months. So net cash spent so far has been $0 😎
These decreased our fixed costs by nearly $150/month on only 3 items.
Be creative and good luck to all!
A quick google shows me that inflation in Brazil is at about 3.5%. which is actually lower than over the last two decades.
https://think.ing.com/articles/brazil-inflation-risks-in-focus/
That makes sense as the pandemic has mostly created deflationary pressures.
that's higher than ideal (probably about 2%) but not the catastrophe you're describing. I would also suggest you could tax the rich and middle class to lower this, rather than deprive those who are most needy.
On the international money markets I see the Real has lost about 20% - 25% of its value against the US dollar
https://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=BRL&to=USD&view=1Y
That's about half of what you suggested, and I don't think you can blame it all on the cash transfer policy. There's generally a flight to the dollar and gold (and now Bitcoin and Tech stocks) when the markets get choppy.
And it's not all bad, a lower currency has advantages for exporters, who I imagine are important to the Brazillian economy.
Anyone want to participate in a documentary? Looking for some discussion of the economic impact of COVID in a documentary I'm creating.
I'm a documentary filmmaker creating a feature length film composed entirely of community video submissions submitted daily as the COVID-19 pandemic progresses. We are looking for people (anyone!) to submit short videos diaries discussing their lives during this pandemic. Everyone is in this together but experiencing so many different things, so we want to use the power of cell phones and the internet to create a global picture of how humans are fighting and coping with COVID-19. We have over 150+ participants so far.
More about the film via our sign-up page: https://airtable.com/shrMT5PyLJ8QpDFJR
In the above link you'll also find out more about my background and how to participate.
PLEASE feel free to ask questions, I want to be transparent. I may not be prompt, but I will answer any questions I can. We have applications in with the International Documentary Association for fiscal sponsorship, and have a pending application for a National Geographic COVID-19 journalism grant.
Maybe they need (any) help in the hospitals right now or soon? Or in china they needed a lot of help in delivery. So just wait until your country gets in lockdown and try to ask for a job where they deliver food. Or there are online freelance jobs. Check platform like upwork.com. There for example you can find jobs where you dont need a lot of IT knowledge. For example when you search for jobs like Email Handling Administrative Support. Mostly they have for every problem workflows you can follow and if there are biger problems, you assign the tickets to the experts. For sure you have to read and get into it. But better than nothing.

This is more of a research/medical book, but it's got pretty current research on the gut microbiome, so it's a really good place to start.
