i tried various methods of grinding bark. the coffemill worked - once, after that i had to replace the grinding part. it is a really nice one so i could get replacement parts, but from my experience a coffee mill simply does not cut it.
a blender does a decent job, but by far the best results i had with a grain mill
I really, really recommend using some boro glass bottles for your extractions. Even the heat change from adding the lye can be enough to crack mason jars. But u/Thyrd makes a good point about keeping the glass off the burner. You only need to the soup to be warm not hot.
You could go with karter scientific bottles They're only $17.99 as opposed to $32.99 They are a decent brand karter scientific
If you insist on using the mason jar you need to allow it to return to room temperature between the freeze and heat cycle
You should also look into a turkey roaster oven so you can have a controlled temp water bath without having to mess with it. Not necessarily the one I linked It's super big and overpriced at the moment.
A vac pump, preferably for ac or a high dollar lab grade pump. Both pull near absolute vac. And a sealed container that won't crush makes a vac chamber. Works fine for degassing dry items(very little residual solvent.) It would need a cold trap to handle anything but dry spice. They make containers called vacuum pots for the container. Like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089KDYX8P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_Y2J83X911PMNF890TCV7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
A vac still requires a distill kit with a cold trap and a vacuum pump.
You can't run flammable vapors through a pump. When the pump compresses the gas it could detonate. This is why you have to use a cold trap before the pump. It condenses solvent vapors back to liquid and seperates it to prevent explosion.
Here you go, over the head battery powered respirator for $800.

Your other option is to shave your beard and use a $40 one.
Your third option which no one’s mentioned yet, is use a lab grade ductless fume hood/cabinet.
Here’s a great one for only $450 if you live near Alabama and can pick it up! Normally these will run you $1,500+
Your last option is breath in toxic fumes and get cancer.
There is nothing else. Now you can choose from that list and stop bothering people for cheap masks that do the impossible because of your grooming preferences.
It really depends on how much you want to invest. I think something like this would be great: https://www.amazon.com/Corning-1395-1L-1000ml-Storage-Bottle/dp/B07J6JP4D1/ref=sr_1_48?dchild=1&keywords=pyrex&qid=1596135220&sr=8-48 And if you want to spend some more, but make your life so much easier, get a separation funnel. I got one very cheap on ebay. If you don't extract that much, you could even only use the funnel.
I'm getting this one.
Accurate from .01-500g. I used to use this same one for perfumery, but I moved, and now I don't know where it is. It was so precise that it would change if you breathed on it. I had to turn off the ceiling fan in my room when I used it, because it would mess with the weight.
Here's one off Amazon Here's also a sep funnel for solvent separation because they're fun to use lol
Test strips are no bueno unless it's a mini a/b. If you use them on the main a/b the bark stains the strip and you can't tell what the actual pH is. I bought this guy from Amazon. I haven't had a chance to use it yet because it was delivered to my house and I'm 60 miles north of there right now.
The first time I got DMT i kept it in baggies I also made single serve hits in emptied pills lol I just didn't know any better. It wasn't until I made my own and did more research that I learned such things. You don't know until you know. glass pipette these are what I use to do my pulls it was a game changer. I want to get a thumb operated one next time.
I notice in my ebook section I am competing against a dmt extraction book:

Here’s some cheap flasks that work. There’s better ones, but these are safe
For what you are talking about, you need an actually seperatory funnel, or something like this:
Dropping Funnel, 1000ml - PTFE Key Stopcock, Open Top, Cylindrical - Ungraduated - Cylindrical, Borosilicate Glass - Eisco Labs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DFTBZ1W/
These are incredibly useful for many things..
1000ml Glass Round Media Storage Bottles with GL45 Screw Cap, Borosilicate Glass, Karter Scientific 251N4 (Single) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WNSFHB3/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_303NYBQ108CPEXMB3VRR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I'd highly recommend this media bottle!! Cheaper than the one you found and the angle on the top is great for pulling naptha!
Well, most people don’t break their blenders. You have to do a small amount at a time.
But really, I should have been more clear. What you reall want is a mill. This is what I use - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SW8H8SV/
If your source is charging more for unground bark, that’s odd. None of my sources do. It’s bulkier, so sometimes they should less product for the same shipping price. But if they’re actually charging more by weight, I’d be curious why… Seems like their ground product may not be up to par, which you can tell if it’s not ground.. So you may be paying a quality tax.
Anyway, to each his own. Good luck.
I have two of these.

And 10 of these..

You can search ebay for a lot of used labware, I got a ton of great boro glassware for $80 (mostly volumetric flasks and Erenmeyer flasks)
Ah thanks, the more you know :)
I'm not using Naphta since it's unavailable in my country. I'm using this: https://www.amazon.de/fischar-Benzinum-DAB-1-L/dp/B005OI5XA0/ref=sr_1_7?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&crid=20VHGIZJ8BNEJ&keywords=wundbenzin&qid=1645534727&sprefix=wundbenzin%2Caps%2C70&sr=8-7

It has room temperature. Using 50ml per 50mg MHRB. As stated earlier I tried it with less and tried it with more (up to 100ml per bottle). Didn't really change anything. Also I'm re-using the solvent after freeze-process.
A glass pipette pump would be better. Not only can you see what you are collecting, the pump gives you extremely fine control. The cannula on the syringe you bought doesn't look like it'll allow you to skim off thin layers of NPS without including soup.

The one i grabbed is outta stock but heres one that should be the same.
Ok thanks.
Hey does this seem like a good solvent for re-xing ?

I purchased this exact model a month back, specifically for powdering my chipped bark. It works amazing. Way better than I even anticipated for the price ($40).
It gets hot after about 45secs - 1min, so I usually feel the top and if it's too hot I'll turn it off for 5mins and then come back and repeat. It doesn't take long at all to powder down 200g of chipped bark.
can i use this link for " Lime (Ca(OH2) " ?
It was a 1000, 500, 250, ULAB Erlenmeyer Flasks with Blue Screw Cap, 3 Sizes 250ml 500ml 1000ml, 3.3 Borosilicate with Printed Graduation, UEF1005 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PZRXTX1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_JDJ81JWZ6JG9GJRKEZ3P?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

This meter is excellent. It’s 2x as expensive as the ones you’ve been getting but it actually works so you shouldn’t have to buy another for a long while

You don't duck it up into the bulb. So suction device does not matter.
I've been using these for 2 yrs without issue. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZZLQ2XN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_bAm8Fb5XXDMFR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 With multiples, if one gets contaminated with soup or water, I just grab the next one. Wash them all at the end. Perfectly clean solvent goes into the freezer.
Personally I bought 2 Pipette, 25ml - Class AS,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VDGVNLW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Not super happy with the pump though, the fit is a bit snug, also, I just ordered a 10ml pipette that’s not like wielding a bastard sword for the more delicate work.

Then use large industrial coffee filters in the Büchner funnel for filtering. Should get you vac filtering for less than $200.
> Finding one of these readily online in anything but large quantities is proving challenging
OP's using ones like these: https://www.amazon.com/XINGZI-Containers-Refillable-Canisters-Organization/dp/B07TSB6CFD/
I'm sure you can find them in a local kitchenware shop as well.
I can appreciate the DIY aspect but these work a lot better then turkey basters. The neck is just to wide on the turkey baster and that messes with accuracy.
Get something like these, makes life much easier. Kinda tricky to properly clean though.

These were too fat. And I had some smaller ones but they weren’t long enough to reach without tilting the mixing jar ...
Mind linking me with the 10mil pipettes you are referring to?
I actually really like those, the 3 cup version is the perfect size for 50-100ml pulls, its rectangular so easy to scrape and stackable. I also got a set of these of amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084Z2Z7BW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Between seeing this and u/ransov using elemental zinc for his mini ab, gonna have to find some and try it out!
I found some "pyro grade" on Amazon. But one of the answers to someone's question is that it would ignite when mixed with water?? I'm guessing this is not the right stuff? Here's what I found
