They authors of this collection aren't controversial at all. Garth Nix is borderline YA, lol. I don't think anything in this book is going to distract BookTok from the amount of Abuse and non-con 2HA is about to unleash on them.

I think one of the easiest danmei is 当你走进图书馆而书里夹了一枚书签 but it's still not *easy* for a complete beginner. We recommend to be at least HSK 4 (or end of HSK 3) to read them. But we already had some very dedicated folks who fought their way through it earlier.

I just think that at the end of the day, these books have published editions that do just fine with "serious" neutral, minimalist covers in Chinese like this edition or this edition, so why do the English ones necessarily have to look like a manga series? I am really praying that they aren't going to put childish looking art or fonts on something like 2HA with some really super heavy themes or it'll just be too weird for me to buy, as much as I want to support official English translations.

I'm at book 2 right now. The relationship is very unhealthy in the beginning but I think that's kind of the plot. To see how that will play out in the story and how or if they will grow :)

What makes you think so? You can find their English version of e-books in different stores, for example for kindle and apple books. I would assume Apple doesn't allow publication of books without proper rights on their platform.
