One is improving DM's social media ranking which apparently does count a little bit.
Joe posted a guide on his blog on how to get #DarkMatter trending on twitter.
Another is the paying route:
Some of them might not be available in the UK though.
Also tell your friends about the show. Coworkers. Random people.
I know the producers are out there... this is what I mean by being locked out of being able to reward you for your good work.
Search engine for where to buy/stream Dark Matter https://www.justwatch.com/au/search?q=dark%20matter
They're available on [Amazon Prime](//www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I47BM8E/), [Google Play](//play.google.com/store/tv/show?id=oiolKeghy68), [iTunes](//itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/dark-matter-season-2/id1126864978) and Vudu. All require payment though.
Here you go:
These are all paid options. I don't think you can watch it free anywhere other than sailing the seven seas (if you have to resort to that be sure to tell all your friends about the show, coworkers, random people!).
A four issue comic book series was released by the show creator (Joseph Mallozzi) back in 2012 that covers the plot of the first 2 episodes (with some differences). Wikipedia link, Amazon Link.
My understanding/hypothesis is that the way the transfer transit pods work is by first building a clone and then transferring the consciousness to it.
For example a DNA sample is taken, mapped, and transmitted via subspace to a receiving pod where it is cloned. Then the consciousness is digitized somehow and transmitted via subspace to the receiving pod where it is then uploaded to the clone.
When the clone returns to the pod the consciousness is digitized and returned via subspace to the original hosts body, the clone is then broken down and destroyed.
If the clone gets destroyed the stored consciousness gets returned to the original pod without the updated memories. With this system you couldn't really clone yourself several times to "Matrix update" yourself to learn everything even if you could clone yourself dozens of time.
Human hasn't read any books Clone-A reads The Art of War Clone-B reads War and Peace, etc.
Clone-A returns to pod, Human now has memories of having read The Art of War but not War and Peace.
Now Clone-B returns to pod, Human now has memories from having read War and Peace but no longer contains the memories from Clone-A reading The Art of War.
This effect happens because the consciousness is replaced by the updated version from the clone, it's not really updating the existing one.
As for creating a temporary army of stormtroopers clones to do your bidding it may be theoretically possible in lore to create a few, but the pods are expensive and may have a limit on how many travelers consciousness each pod can store (due to a human consciousness taking up an ungodly amount of storage space since data compression would be incomprehensibly stupid for such a thing).
Since a pod can only hold so many consciousness's it may only be equipped with enough bioprinting material to print so many clones and relies on recycling the material for creating new clones.
There's also an all-seasons set but available only for regions 2 and 4 (so it won't play in region 1 e.g. U.S. & Canada unless you have a region-free player).
I just came here to ask if anyone else had it via Amazon. With our season pass the episodes have been showing up just fine. But nothing yet for episode 10 and I don't see it listed on the season page https://www.amazon.com/Dark-Matter-Season-3/dp/B071X1L2NK
This needs to be upvoted more. The best way to tell the big TV corporations that you like a particular show is to pay for it. This might not necessarily mean paying for cable if that's not cost-effective for you, but it doesn't mean piracy is your only option.
Like PirateNinjaa said, Amazon has Dark Matter https://www.amazon.com/Welcome-To-Your-New-Home/dp/B01I47APC8 (and it's generally only delayed by a few days, as opposed to Netflix).
You can buy the digital edition on Dark Horse's website or get physical copies from the usual places like your local comic book store or Amazon.
if you have a Android device (smartphone / tablet) i STRONGLY recommend this app: Series Guide
You just add the Shows you like (new or old) and you get a nice managable list of Episode Guides and it tells you when NEW Episode air (and only the new ones, no reruns.) and you then make a checkmark on the episodes you've seen / have collected.
