Here's a tip, use openstreetmap.org instead of Google maps for these. The streets and landmarks will match up much better! See here: https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=50.1351%2C8.7027#map=16/50.1351/8.7027
It's all about pattern recogition. I started at your starting location and zoomed out to get a view about a kilometer or two in all directions, and I looked for roads that were sloped at the same angle as the one you have near the bottom, keeping in mind too that it seemed fairly open so it probably wasn't downtown Chelmsford.
The slight bend with the smaller road heading south from the middle of the bend was particularly important, and let me discard a bunch of roads without serious consideration. Still, I spent too much time trying to make Beeches Rd fit, but it really wasn't it.
Gloucester Ave was about the third road I looked at, and the building shapes easily confirmed it.
Some possibilities: Country Road GG https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/6924978#map=16/38.0706/-102.6451
Country Road HH (Many "T" intersections that it could be) https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/6924978#map=16/38.0850/-102.6403
Go to places on openstreetmap that show a thin North-south road forming a T intersection with a thicker East-West road. If you know where you got your first map piece it will be a lot easier. There is a minimum distance from your first piece where the egg shall be.
Oh, great! I also searched for it and just wanted to ask if it is this area:

I will also do my first hunt someday, so thanks for the exercise ;-)
Well, the good news, I found your area: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/65.0280/25.4883
The bad news, it's definitely drawn incorrectly, like a mosaic of pieces from nearby, but not quite identical locations. I suggest you submit a support ticket, as the devs may want to look into what happened to make it all wonky like this. https://imgur.com/a/Lop97
I used a programme called GIMP. (yes really).
I'll warn you in advance it's great but it's also the most user un-friendly programme on the planet.
First I cropped the images and pasted them into good old MSPaint so they were handy on the screen.
I started a new project in GIMP and pasted the openstreet map image in first. Next I took the treasure map image in and pasted it as a new layer on top of the first image. I then reduced the transparency of the treasure map to point where the black squares disappeared. (this last bit is a bit tricky and I would search for some better instructions than I have provided here, but if you search for 'add new layer in gimp' and 'change transparency' you'll find plenty of sites that offer instructions. You will need plenty of patience the first few times you try to do it.
Having a bit of trouble finding my golden egg. Haven't been able to complete a hint yet because of vague maps with no landmarks.
My first map fragment t was found here - https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=15/-26.6285/152.9583 (around Mitchell Street).
Any help would be much appreciated.
