Few people realize what the world was like for gay men in the 80s and earlier, even in the 90s this was life for many gay dudes and I fought for years so the entitled millennials could have it easy and this is why I'm so strongly for #DROPTHET because our community (the gays) did all the work and endured all this shit for decades for only these transgendytrendy people to co-opt and steal gay culture ("transwashing") and spread that message- did you know most young gays think the heroes of Stonewall were 'Transgender women' when there was not a single trans woman there, in fact, the word transgender wasn't even used in semi-common vernacular until the 90s. I know a lot of you hate how the gay community has gotten so ridiculous these days but remember, those of us who are gay in our late 30s and older had to live in a world you couldn't be yourself : many experts called it 'the last approved prejudice of america' although now we're discovering that new approved prejudices like 'hate white people' and 'hate all men' are now the new people to pick on.
