Android app called 12-Lead ECG Challenge
Has a big collection of practice 12-Leads, some of which are complicated, but many of them are just simple STEMI etc, great for practicing your methodical analysis as well as your quick look first impressions.
When I was doing my cardiology paper whenever I was bored / stuck in traffic / on the bus etc etc I would just flick through hundreds of these 12-Leads, helped a lot.
Using albuterol in HyperK, you’re gonna need somewhere close to 20mg, which is why it’s not frequently used. Kayexalte would be a great choice for reducing K.
When I studied for my FP-C, I remember studying the proportions of reducing pH, BiCarb and K+. When one changes so does the other.
Remember though, the K+ in HyperK is extracellular and adding Sodium BiCarb and Calcium is what moves it intracellular. If it’s not true HyperK we’re not accomplishing much. These EKG’s takes years of study.
This book is probably the most well put together book on EKG’s. When I was a new medic I studied it a fair bit and it was a tremendous resource. Unfortunately I’ve forgotten most of what I read- that level of detail requires constant refreshing, and in AirMedical, I just don’t have the chance to need to use it so much, so I’ve forgotten it.
We’ve rate lowered a flutter to 150 without converting the rhythm. We’ve also had a flutter 150s, atypical a flutter exists. There are more intricacies to EKGs than you’re letting on.
Specifically had a flutter with ventricular rate of 70 and atrial rate of 140.
I highly recommend this book: The Only EKG Book You'll Ever Need https://www.amazon.com/dp/1496377230/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_V7JJD85WRK8R82454RYZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Good luck in your endeavors.
Just finished uni for the year, did 3-Lead interpretation + Basic Arrhythmias in semester 1, and 12-Lead interpretation in semester 2.
This book was worth every cent, good general coverage of anatomy and heart structure etc. Basic rhythms, interpretation, and goes on to cover basic 12-Lead stuff. Plus it comes with some sick premade cue-cards that were super helpful.
Totally recommend it.
