>When we first introduced Nuclear Winter, we were thrilled to watch so many players from our community, as well as many newcomers, dive head first into our take on the ruthless last-player-standing Battle Royale genre. Over time, however, we’ve seen the vast majority of players prefer to explore other aspects of the game. It has also become tougher to put full Nuclear Winter lobbies together without also making sacrifices on match wait times. Additionally, we’ve found it challenging to provide meaningful updates for Nuclear Winter, while also developing and supporting exciting new content for Adventure Mode in recent and upcoming updates. With all of this in mind, we are currently planning to sunset Nuclear Winter Mode in an update coming this September

Reading between the lines, they decided to finally pull the plug after not spending a red dime or a hot minute on the mode for two years.
They have neither the skills, the time, the manpower, or the money to support more than one mode, and this is the result.
Oh, and anyone else hate the word "sunset" as an euphemism for "our bean-counters told us it's no longer profitable"?
"However, we’re also planning to roll out another patch near the end of this month, on May 25. This will be a smaller update than some of our previous releases, and it will include some prep work for Steel Reign, apply fixes for several community-reported bugs, and bring some new items to the Atomic Shop."

> The ESO+ subscription costs more than a 1st sub
Sure, a whopping €5 more for a yearly sub. The monthly sub is €2 cheaper though:
ESO+: €12.99/month , €124.99/year
FO1st: €14.99/month, €119,99/year
In the end, you get more from an ESO+ sub than you do from a FO1st sub, not the least of which is hours and hours of actual content. 76 has "free" content, but it's a 6-hour mission chain every 6-12 months, apparently. It just cannot compete with the sheer amount of content ESO has.
They disabled building from the top down over a year ago:
"Walls: Fixed an issue that could allow walls to be snapped to overhanging roofs and upper floors, which could be used to create floating walls."
- Update 21, August 4th, 2020
It annoyed me greatly, because building from the top down was the only way to sink some things into the ground properly, so it didn't look like they were suspended by one corner and free-floating.
Most headsets are over-the-ear and have a boom/Mic because you get both stereo game sounds and chat.
I'm not 100%, but you might be able to simply pair a bluetooth device and use it for chat. Anything that plugs into your controller port works too (but I play on a older Xbox One S).
Have you read the "Wool" series? Good stuff...
Did you ever read a book called Wool? Has FO overtones, and it was going to me a TV show at one point, but it never happened. Cannot recommend the book and its sequels enough.
Gratz on 500 btw ;)
