It's so weird! I feel like I'm going to give birth to a small clothing box, lol. Last pregnancy it was actually pretty far in when I switched to maternity- maybe four, five or six months? Near the end of normal clothes I was doing the hair tie trick, and wearing belly band things to smooth it. I will say, the box did turn into a "bump" eventually.
Full panel styles don't work for me until the third tri (I assume it's because I have a flat butt, the pants just won't stay up). This is my third pregnancy and I find I'm able to get by with my current pants for many months using the BellaBand. You can leave your pants unbuttoned, the BellaBand will hold them up.
I went with under the bump underwear similar to these: https://www.amazon.com/Intimate-Portal-Maternity-Pregnancy-Underwear/dp/B01ETCZLUI/ref=zg_bs_1285236011_2/131-2146388-7786161?pd_rd_i=B00FIOGHFU&psc=1
I'm reading this book at the minute and really enjoying it. Although I wasn't abused there are definitely some experiences and overall feelings with my childhood that I don't want to repeat with my child, and this book (as well as this one) are helping me to prepare for the parenting I want my child to receive and the home I want them to have.
We have some friends who raise their son according to this philosophy and it has worked really well, so I'm excited to create the same atmosphere in my home :).
The doterra Terra Shield is the only essential oil based repellent that has really worked for me! Its a little pricey but id say worth it! https://www.amazon.com/doTERRA-ABCD-TerraShield-Spray/dp/B079CJD9XS/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=doterra+mosquito+repellent&qid=1656707015&sr=8-3
Someone on here recently recommended me this bra pack and they are both super comfortable and very cost effective. They come with cups but you can remove them!
It’s an attachment to the top of the pack and play! You can also use it as a travel safe sleep spot. It’s the only attachment for the top of the pack and play that is approved for safe sleep (and it’s also safe if used on the ground). There’s also the bassinet level that most pack and plays come with, but I had the little changing table attachment on it as well to do changes in the living room.
You can see what I’m talking about here pack and play with dome
Just wanted to share two specific products that I really appreciated last time:
Bravado Basics maternity & nursing camisole (I lived in these nursing tops! In fact, I bought several of them and wore them continuously for 2+ years postpartum, until I finally weaned my son. And they're still in good enough shape to use again.)
BlueSnail quilted bamboo waterproof changing pad liners (These were an absolute godsend. I could change my son's diaper anywhere, even without a changing pad, and poopy blowouts were never an issue! They're machine-washable and roll up tight to fit in a diaper bag. So convenient.)
What a great thread idea! Thanks for posting it. 😊
