No modifying necessary to add a hitch. There are four bolt holes that the hitch attaches to and it clears the bumper, just barely. A bit easier to install if you drop the spare some to give you some more wiggle room.

Looks like they're currently unavailable on Amazon.
Nice I was looking at those but went for cheaper nerf bars bc I won't be rock crawling. Fyi I just made a quick post about replacement trim fastners, someone was asking about them before. Some areas on my 08 were sagging.

I've used one before and it seemed to take out the slack and made it a little more rigid.
Cheaper on Amazon rather than direct through the manufacturer:
McGard 84658 Black Cone Seat... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DIX1XAC?
Keep in mind these are for aftermarket wheels that need conical seat lugs. If you want black lugs for your factory wheels it’s a different set/part number from McGard.
Fun fact, McGard actually makes the F-Sport factory accessory lugs for Lexus, so these are essentially the same, cheaper and just not branded with the F logos.
Yup, brakes are soft. Not enough beef for 5,200+ lbs. I bought a full set of Power Stop heavy duty brakes for my 470 and love them so much I’ll be buying the comparable set for my 460 (below).

Edit: I bought the black ones for my tan interior.
I just checked and they are out of stock on Amazon right now. I waited about a week for them to come back before I placed my order.
And I was in the same boat. The wear and tear inside and out after 12 years of use was too great to properly restore. For the price, it is a no brainer to get the new lights. I am probably going to keep the old units just to experiment with them.
This one here:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NHSJZ74?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_G6BY65JHQVFWW514HC6G
It's sold out, but there are other ones available. Just get a GPS version and not OBD version if you plan on having auto-folding mirrors when locking/unlocking the car.
I can't attest to the quality of these huds.. I'm sure they aren't automotive grade and will melt in the summer.

I went with these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0774P72XM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They are cheaper option but I'm probably not keeping the truck much longer so I wanted a budget option. I only needed one but figured makes more sense to replace both at the same time. Install was easy in my driveway on jack stands with floor jack under the rear diff to lift it into place.
Happy to help bud! Here is the brake controller I went with with this harness. I have a buddy who is a fab guy/installer at a shop and he knocked out both for me in about an hour. The toughest part without know how would be fabbing up brackets/mounts for the cooler and extending the wires to the horns since we relocated them.
Are you talking about one of these?

If so, that's what I use for mine.
Here’s my order from 2019 SCITOO but it says it’s unavailable.
Here’s another one that is available
I’m sure they’re all the same Chinese garbage sold under different brands, either way it’s $100 for a pair so fuggit! Lol even if you had to replace them every couple years it’s still cheaper than a conversion. Mine has done fine with 3 years and 50k miles worth of fire trail/towing abuse.
That’s the one I use at work. It might be more than you need but it comes with some cool stuff like extra clips that are known for breaking and a decent depin set for electrical. The pliers work great for pop clips.

32" tires shouldn't be a big deal, just keep it in 4th to tow. It will still have to downshift to 3rd to get over highway overpasses and stuff like that. With a 4500lb trailer I rarely go over 65mph, any more than that and I start seeing less than 8mpg. As long as you upgrade the trans cooler, you won't really need to keep an eye on the temps. But if you want to,
Veepeak Mini Bluetooth OBD2... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011NSX27A?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This is nice and low-profile, and works well with the fusion app. You just have to buy the Toyota software for an additional $10.
The gx is not a proper tow vehicle, but it will suffice! Just keep in mind sometimes you can't have it all. More armor and accessories takes away from your towing capacity.
A first gen tundra will tow quite a bit more trailer and more easily.
/u/diffdirections Linked to my post and reminded me that I never did a follow-up. I looked for the mirrors on rock-auto to get part numbers, then ordered them off Amazon since they were about $20 cheaper with Prime shipping included.
You'll need Burco 4259H Driver Side Power Replacement Mirror Glass Heated for 10-18 LEXUS GX460 & Burco 5334H Convex Passenger Side Power Replacement Mirror Glass Heated for 10-18 LEXUS GX460.
I popped the glass off the mirror assembly and then slowly pried the broken glass off. There is a plastic lip around the mirror which makes it hard to start and the factory glue works really well. Plastic car trim pry bars worked well for me. I laid the mirror flat on a piece of old carpet, put a piece of cardboard on top of the glass and then just started working the glass off. I think it to about ~40 minutes a side. This was in February, and a little colder outside, so you might be able to go faster. I have the Burco's on since then and have no noticed the dimmer being gone. But then again, I hardly drive at night. I also have not gone back to that car-wash.
I have a Grom unit in my '16 with Android Auto and I'd say it works great. Connects wirelessly very quickly never had any issues not recognizing it. I don't plug it into the unit like you do most of the time, because I can charge much quicker through the regular cigarette plug and just use wireless. I bought this Amazon Link, cut a hole and mounted it next to the cigerette lighter port in case I ever want too use it, but since wireless came out, I haven't used it. I've had my unit since they first came out for the GX so 1.5 years I think. 100% would buy it again.
Not to say its without faults as some times there are a few snags, but normally turning off the car and back on solves most of them for me. Something may happen once very couple of months. I also installed a power button app to the home screen so there is a quick and easy way to reboot it if it is acting weird as a first step to trouble shooting. I really wish they would have just installed a power button on the box itself to make it easier instead of unplugging it since it is a tight connection, but haven't had to do that in a very long time. Grom support has always been quick to reply for the few minor firmware updates that didn't work well on my unit and was fixed quickly.

Yup, not cheap. Doing rotors and hubs/bearings is really pretty easy, so you can save there. I recommend Dorman hub/bearing assemblies (pre pressed), and these Power Stop brakes. As with my 4th gen 4runner I had before this, the OEM rotors warp very easily-- not even worth having them turned, they'll just warp again. The Power Stop rotors are a game changer.
Also consider sourcing your own parts for things you are paying a mechanic to do. Most are OK with this, and you save on their markup and get to choose the quality you want.

First thing I would do baseline, and ensure all maintenance like timing belt is done.
Change sparkplugs.
Change all fluids.
Check out 12 hole Denso reman injectors on Ebay. Gained smoother idle and 1-2mpg when I did mine.
Make sure spare tire is good.
Check CV boots.
Buy a portable tire inflation, repair kit.
Buy a portable jump pack like the handheld ones that also double as a USB battery bank.
Change window seals/wipes if they are cracked or rotten.
Get this Bluetooth adaptor

Determine what size tires you REALLY need for your purposes. I used to slap 35"s on everything and later learned 33"s are the way to go in terms of cost and I can get up every trails someone with 35"s goes.
Determine what suspension you will need. Don't buy twice.
If you just hit trials once a year and won't be adding bumpers front and rear a set of Bilsteins is all you need.
Airbag Man makes 2" lift bags so if you eventually have an RTT or town often they self level and offer a plush ride. Don't just yeet your coils because everyone else does.
If you don't off-road much look at Hybrid tires like the Kenda Klever RT series.
As you drive it and camp out of it you'll learn what you actually need.
It’s a red vinyl overlay! I recommend going with the Oracle 8300 film, high quality and doesn’t have a pinkish tone like a lot of cheaper films.

I actually was gonna make another post about this, but I got a WolfBox 12" Rear View Dash Cam. This came with a wide-view backup cam (I mean...WIDE) as part of the package, so you can have both rear view and dash cam functionality in one unit. I'll drop a link.

My car had the OEM camera, which was hard to remove due to rusted clips holding in the long plastic piece that sits over the license plate and camera. My buddy had the bright idea of putting the camera on the inside of the barn door, on the top plastic cover. I wish I could show you a pic of what I'm talking about, but I'm winding down for bed at the moment. I'll try to show you what I mean tomorrow. It was the perfect last-resort spot!
I just got mine sounding good again, ‘08 with ML. Passenger 6x9 was farting out and nothing out of the drivers 6x9. I ordered the foam surround kit hoping that would do it (I’ve refoamed many speakers, it’s easy). When I pulled both 6x9s, I realized one was just fully dead, probably the voice coil. We all know how expensive the replacements are, and they clearly suck, so that was off the table. They have to be 8 ohm, and after much research and a call to Crutchfield, I determined there are no 8ohm 6x9s available. Ended up going this route with these 5.25” speakers: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4P3P0H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_SJ30NZFC2Y5HXAV6YZRV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I reused the factory mount and harness, and just put those above adaptors on it. You have to saw off some plastic nubs on the factory (easy), and I used silicon caulk to seal everything and prevent vibration. They sound amazing and it only took a few hours.
The mids and tweeters on the ML seem to not have issues, and sound pretty dang good (I’m an audio engineer). I’m hoping the foam on the rear door drivers and the sub don’t go out, I had to refoam the sub on my ‘03 4runner with the JBL.

I used to think this kind of setup was just people being cheap, but after years of trying different combinations of RTTs, ground tents, and awning enclosures, this is right where I've ended up.
I ordered some thick upholstery foam and cut it to fit in the space left by removing the single seat. I can remove the seat and unroll the foam in absolutely no time, and just leave it there during the course of my trips. It's so helpful when I want to set up/break down in the dark, which happens often. I am 6'-7" and just slide the passenger seat up when I want to sleep. It's been a great solution.

I don’t believe that the grom unit replaces the CD or aux port, but I ended up just taking out the CD player since I didn’t have a spot to put the vline module. I still use my stock bluetooth for calling because the included mic sucks for anything but siri. Not sure if you are an apple or android user but I’ve found that my iphone only connects to the vline and car bluetooth 4/5 times. if i turn the key to reset them though usually they both connect though. Before I bought the vline i used this bluetooth adapter for music and the stock bluetooth for calls. This worked pretty well and was much cheaper but I talked myself into the grom since I use my car to commute to school now and like having the maps on screen. Its also pretty nice to be able to skip songs with the steering wheel controls rather than searching for the skip button on my phone. Its also nice being able to use siri to send/ read texts handsfree. I do like having the grom but $650 is a pretty steep price tag especially if youre fine with using what you have now.

CARORMOKE Retractable Cargo Cover Luggage Cover Privacy Shade Trunk Cover Black 2019 2020 Compatible with 2010-2018 Lexus GX GX460 https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07T5D13JF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_3S0B86PGRWC8YH7KS1J4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The bare essentials kit. Like this one ( check compatibility before ordering, I just googled this up). https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.amazon.com/Aisin-TKT-021-Engine-Timing-Water/dp/B008EEYWKI&ved=2ahUKEwjWjpf5u83yAhWkMX0KHYBLBmgQFnoECAMQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2O7AL8Cnt_Qr100G9vQ6Xx

They are ok - the pitch is a little higher than I’d like.
Upgrading. I bought this set for my 470 and it made a world of difference. I bought the equivalent pads for my 460 and they are great.

08 GX. Put the link and info in captions but this generic trim kit from amazon. Added pic of part list in kit. Fastner snaps down satisfingly well and is good and snug. Way better than reinstalling the old clips. Will need to find the standalone part bc kit only had 5.
I got this one from Amazon. It was the only one with a white backlight I could find - didn't want other colors to maintain the OEM aesthetic as much as possible. Fit wasn't perfect so I filed down the long edges which seemed to do the trick.
I bought some Power Stops and they are great. Here’s a heavy duty kit for an example.
Power Stop K5874-36 Front and Rear Z36 Truck & Tow Brake Kit, Carbon Fiber Ceramic Brake Pads and Drilled/Slotted Brake Rotors https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O6QJ9UG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_6PE3JXDCAV1ZKVJAGKCV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Power Stop heavy duty tow kit (rotors+pads+hardware) made a tremendous difference on my 470, so much so I’m going to order a similar kit for my 460. My 470 stops on a dime and has brilliant pedal feel now. Oh and as a bonus I get almost zero brake dust. Here’s what I got for the 470 and what I’ll get for the 460.
470: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005UB5WQG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Here is the panel and USBs I used. And yes I think I’m going to cut down the length of those wires.

Installed these on the 470 and couldn’t be happier. Much better than the 460 front brake swap. I’ll be looking for a setup from Power Stop for my 460 too.

I have an 2004 LS430 and was using FM transmitter, then moved to the tape deck adapter. After a long time listening to spotify on the tape adapter, I randomly got a CD and it blew my mind how much better the sound is! Anyway, i got this unit, was relatively easy to install and am very happy with it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R59YJB0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I went with Glowtech for both lows and high, very happy with them. I don’t here the fans unless I open the hood and lean in.
Looks like this might fit in there. Only issue is depth so it might stick out a little bit which if I did a single piece of wood/metal for the fold down table the entire length of the hatch, it would interfere if I tried to fold it up when in storage mode. Guess one idea is I may design the fold down table to extend/retract as a slide-out for the section which would be right underneath that left compartment. That might work... Thanks so much!

Seems like everyone has already suggested the tools you need: Impact & torque wrench, wd-40, & a BIG flathead to use as a prybar on your exhaust hanger. The only thing that seems to be missing is picking up a small tube of bolt anti-seize for the bolts that go into your frame. They've got it at all the local car parts store like auto-zone. Here's the one I got locally for reference https://www.amazon.com/Permatex-81343-Anti-Seize-Lubricant-Tube/dp/B0002UEOLO/ref=psdc_15719281_t1_B000XD9WUI
>may take 3 weeks to get the part
That's ridiculous. You can buy it on Amazon and have it in a day. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008EEYWKI/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_9?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Glad i'm not the only one! I was doing some more research and another option is to buy an aftermarket HUD that displays the speed for about 50 bucks that plugs into the OBD port. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Arestech-Windshield-Speeding-Consumption-Temperature/dp/B00VHSFG1M
Not sure about how I feel with the setup on top of dash though.

Bull bars are damage multipliers. They are not strong or stiff enough to “protect” anything. Also, instead of a rear bumper guard you are better off with something like this - TGL Hitch Step, Tow Hitch for 2 inch Receivers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XZLSFKT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_cvp5FbTQJKCT6
If you dont have a hitch - get one from etrailer.com
You can always rent a uhaul trailer.
Amazon carries non-OEM crossbars. Your local dealer likely has OEM crossbars in stock.
I had this basket on my OEM cross bars for awhile, worked out fine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RK9M6X3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've had good luck with Arnott products in the past. They sell replacement bags that any local shop (i.e. not the dealership) should be able to install.
They also sell a conversion kit that's available on Amazon for ~$250
I have a similar net in my rig
Powertye Mfg 15in x 30in Large Cargo Net Featuring 10 Adjustable Hooks, Tight 2in Mesh, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002302CAG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_2VfQFbSJ7Y2VM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The only thing I would hesitate about is the 6500K color for a lowbeam, which would be on during rain, snow and fog, and make visibility in that more difficult. Plus- personally, I think that brighter white fatigues me more.
I'm thinking about the morimotos: https://www.amazon.com/H11-LED-Morimoto-2Stroke-2-0/dp/B07HJHGHRS they're bright and 5500k. But... way more expensive.
I had these for a while before I got all new suspension and they were fine for the almost 2 years I had them. Install was easy and they looked like new when I pulled them off. They are a good option if you want to keep the factory electronic adjustable shocks and get a little more front clearance.
I have this plugged in the 12v DC port in my center console (4Runner) for jump starting dead batteries:
I have a Goal Zero Yeti 400 Lithium plugged in the 12v DC port in the cargo area. It powers my fridge. If I’m base camping, then I have a Rockpals 100w foldable solar panel plugged in the Yeti.
Did you get it. Lexus part # is LE04427-60141 . Amazon shows this. https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Toyota-04427-60140-Drive-Shaft/dp/B0099AQNAI/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=04427-60141&qid=1570034853&s=gateway&sr=8-1
I imagine they're the same.

I did these and highly recommend bolth. They look great and are super bright. The bulbs for the break light will fit the turn signals and reverse lights. So if you want to replace those you can just get different colors. If you do turn signals they will flash super fast tho so you need a regulator.
Thank you. I used poster board and a ruler with a pencil attached to it. Cut out the rough shape then fine tuned it. Then traced it onto the wood. Used a jigsaw first then a dremel to fine tune the wood. For the wings I used these European style hidden cabinet hinges. . They work well. I originally got piano hinges but didn’t want the look of them. They are supported by shelf braces though also, the hinges are for opening. What do you mean by supporting the underside?
I highly recommend the scosche magic mount. Ive had it in multiple vehicles. I originally was turned off by the idea of having a magnet on my phone, but now I don’t even notice it. So easy just to place the phone and have it stick. Very sturdy and honestly never falls off, even when on super rough trails. Looks super clean and it’s extremely cheap on amazon.
I know I am late to reply but I just put this kit in. Easy as hell to do and the swap makes the truck feel so much newer.. $13 shipped

Added the Luftmeister electronic shocks, front/back, $500. Read from another forum theyre made by Kyb toyota, but I doubt it.
Get yourself a scanner. They're invaluable tools that will at a minimum let you know if you can fix problems yourself.

I've read up that these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T1LCZB7/?coliid=I238306L5XK0JJ&colid=OZGIJKZSNCYH&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
are a good replacement for highbeams that also don't flicker when DRLs are on.
