You don't have to take the coins off an exchange if you don't want to and for someone who is just getting started buying and selling, leaving them on an exchange is probably the best practice until you learn more about crypto. The old adage is "not your keys, not your crypto" which just means if you don't have the coins in your possession then there is centralized risk in your holdings and an exchange can get hacked or your account compromised. By taking ownership of your coins you have in your possession the actual apex property of BTC which is what holds value. But the "not your keys" people usually fail to mention there is a learning curve to having your own wallet and owning your keys comes with certain risks as well (losing your keys, sending to wrong addresses).
For newbs I recommend Electrum.org for wallet software. Just do your research before sending any and your first time just send a small amount to test. BTC wallets should always be free if anyone is charging you you're being scammed.
Kraken charges fees on a sell, as well as withdrawal fees.
No, once you setup you can't turn it off.
The only place I can see authy related message is under changing your phone number. Other than that, there's no place to change it.
Change Your Phone Number
In order to change your phone number, you will need to submit a "change phone number request" with our two-factor authentication partner, Authy. Once the change has been made, your new phone number will be updated on our system. Start the process by visiting https://www.authy.com/phones/change
Didn't you bring this up months ago? Or it's just the same problem with a different person...
AUTHY is fine, You can set up app protection for AUTHY which is effectively two-factor authentication for your two-factor authentication, another layer of defense... And turn off multi device when you have devices set up... Gemini is good about telling people that...
Ideally you should set up yubikeys... And even if you are still stuck with AUTHY using yubikey stops man in the middle attacks... VPN, NordVPN now has more threat protection...

Some trouble here, United States not on the app list... No wonder I had trouble, adapting the browser version to your phone is pretty damn crappy
>level 3Krahkii211 day agoSo I transfered my funds from earn back to my regular portfolio, now they make you wait up to 5 days to have your funds. Today is day 5 for me but my account shows I only have a couple hundred on it when I should have 14k. I received an email saying its a glitch they are working on it and we will reciege all of our funds back. Im just upset because I was going to buy something cool with gemini pay haha heres the email I got from them today. https://snipboard.io/sPo3cb.jpg
Something similarish happened to me for a few minutes but I refreshed and it was fixed - update if the issue was mitigated if you can. I withdrew everything to move to BlockFi and it looks better so far :)
