Xiao is an illuminated beast. But as Yaksha, he decided to keep a human form. It's implied his true form is that of garuda. I believe something similar to a harpy.
There's a Developer Insight on him that goes pretty in-depth.
We aren't completely sure yet, though we do know that the Electro Archon has the ability to at least halt Visions being given. There's a lot of language that seems to suggest that it needs approval from the gods beyond the Archons.

This is also a nice read
Unfortunately lire right now is quite scattered and not fully organized yet and there is no place where you can find all organized lore
here's a lore archive for older theories: https://www.notion.so/Khaenri-ah-Lore-Library-Database-697c4fd64c8f4141a3b4b56e8e6ba716
it was last updated august, so reading through this sub, the other lore sub and the main sub would give you more
their twitter (@khaenriahcom) had been retweeting theories on twitter up until january, so ig that sort of serves as an archive as well
Not to rain on your parade or anything, but the whole Celestia could be aliens preventing or causing honkai has been a theory going around as early as 1.0. Check out Khenriah lore project where all the in depth theories and speculations have been chronicled.

I would watch cutscenes unless you plan on going through them slowly but surely. A lot of game lore is hidden in artifacts, domains, books, and voice lines, however. khaneriacom on Twitter (or simply their website for their beginner lore guide) is a personal favorite of mine. But with your schedule, the other more video-oriented formats recommended here might be easier to keep up with.
I also just learned a ton of lore from lurking around the subreddit. People ask all sorts of questions, and nobody will think twice about any questions you may have, obvious or not, as long as you are polite and don't jump to conclusions without evidence.
Here's a research page collecting all we know about Ley Lines and Irminsul so far: https://www.notion.so/khaenriah/The-Ley-Lines-the-Ancient-Tree-56dfaa490cdd4a4a82ecc56059a64b9e
Khaenri'ah has been doing a really great job of collating many analyses and theories that have been scattered around the internet. Our lore library has around 50+ works and it's still growing! The recent release on everything currently known about Visions is really comprehensive as well, and you can read that here: https://www.notion.so/khaenriah/All-About-Visions-5e649279fe504dabbcb4bd267ed4f53a
Hmm, I just checked again and there is some mistranslation going on here. On this parts, they used “world” but in the CN, JP and VI versions they used “da lu” (great continent) when referring to Teyvat, especially in the Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma paragraph when describing their position. For example “A city of freedom that lies in the northeast of Teyvat.“ is supposed to be “A free city that lies in the northeast of the Great Continent Teyvat”. The only time “world” was used is the very first sentence of the page which is “You have arrived in Teyvat — a fantasy world where the seven elements flow and converge.” And even then, there isn’t supposed to be a “You’ve arrived in..”, but only “Teyvat is…” instead.
>And then we have Venti who drops hints about celestia being a not-so-happy place (plus he's also the one narrating the BP cutscene, though that one just raises a

He also likes to spew bullshit, and actually never tell anyone or even dropping a hint about it (dodging the question just like Zhongli and Ei). https://genshin.mihoyo.com/en/manga/detail/71
Zhongli and Ei are better than "dropping hints", Zhongli said that there is a legit contract that prevent him to tell the traveler, while Ei straight up saying that Celestia destroy the nation that's advanced enough.
The manga panel is intentionally vague : Crepus falls, there's a flash forward and then we see Diluc holding his dead dad as the knights arrive. For all we know he could have killed him just before they arrived, and they used a flash forward because having Diluc mercy killing his father on screen is too graphic/disturbing. Also, before the ellipse Diluc doesn't have any blood on his face, but after the ellipse his cheek is covered in blood, so I think it's safe to assume that he did mercy kill his father. Kaeya's character story AND Kaeya in the manga both confirm that Diluc killed his father. They wouldn't include this piece of lore twice in official content if they were trying to lead us on.
It's in the prologue for the Genshin manga!
"Young Barca Lawrence...now chooses a girl to his liking and gets the harpastum himself! That's not the end of it! After the feast, he'll take that poor lass home and..."
For anyone who is curious, here is a picture for reference.
Adepti don't get visions according to the Mihoyo.
"The "three eyes" part of the adepti's title refers to the "third eye" possessed by those with the ability to manipulate elemental energy, which for humans takes the form of a Vision. For adepti such as Cloud Retainer and Mountain Shaper, the human understanding is that they must have an "inner eye" that serves the same purpose as a Vision. Xiao, however, typically appears in a human form, so he dutifully wears a Vision to comply with the expected norm."
Adepti don't get Visions. Xiao's is a fake he wears because of custom. It's in the dev diary about him.
