You again? do your own homework.
Its not just a matter of barrel thickness. Even with the strongest steels, the barrel actually expands a bit as the bullet and pressure traverses the barrel and you need your steel the be resilient to repeat the action consistently and accurately.

Dude, you're the one who came to us for help with your deformable mechanics homework. Why are you giving us a professor google lecture?
I've built two of these types of cetme/g3's. You're going the right way by tacking it up with a cetme steel mag in place. For the other places get a 30 ga copper sheet and mold it around your bolt carrier. Move it along as you tak things in. No sticky BCG.
RemindMe! 4 days. I'm finishing a write up. Had to wait for new rollers.
The receiver flat is chromoly so it's a bit more rust resistant than regular steel. I do hit the inside with cerakote where I can. But really the bolt carrier is so honking big and has so many points of contact I slather it in moly grease.
Another quick option is dunk it black oxide bath. Still gonna wanna keep it lubed. It'll get scrapped off in places.

Thanks bang stitch. It sounded like the other comments were saying this pin is fubar by the way it has expanded on the right of the photo. Are you saying that it is recoverable or I should get a new one? I ordered one yesterday morning but haven’t gotten a response from the guy who sells them so we’ll see what happens there.
As for removing the stuff I’ve been sick with flu and mostly sleeping this week. I’m reading all the comments and will likely try it this weekend when I have better energy to be yanking on stuff. I definitely have pliers that I’ve used to try pulling on the punch but I haven’t tried the hammer trick yet. It is the top one in this 3-set: Stanley 84-114 3 Piece Basic 6-Inch Slip Joint, 6-Inch Long Nose, and 6-Inch Diagonal Plier Set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006HVU4W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_HB1uCbBF5CP9C.
I'm partial to this scope and it's dirt cheap on Amazon often. CamelCamelCamel.com it to see when it's on sale.
Heavy sucker but very bright from the large lenses.
