Try an AIP diet, eliminate all possible reactive foods and add them back until you identify your triggers. People who continue to have symptoms while correctly medicated swear by this. It might take a while to get to the root cause. Speaking of which, there is an excellent book on how to identify Root Cause: Hashimoto's Thyroiditis: Lifestyle Interventions for Finding and Treating the Root Cause
Pregnenolone has made a huge difference for me. Before I began using it I felt like there was a sheet of frosted glass between my brain and my eyes. I would be sitting at my desk just staring without even realizing it. What a nightmare. After 2-3 days of the pregnenolone it disappeared and only returns briefly when my thyroid med needs to be adjusted. If interested, I use this one. It comes in tablet form as well, but they're not absorbed well. It's a hormone precursor, so gives your adrenals a boost, which are usually not functioning well if you've been hypo for a while.
Hi There, 43 year old male here. I was just diagnosed recently diagnosed with non hashi's hypo, and still felt really fatigued after starting thyroid. My doctor first put me on some plant based adrenal support. It helped. It helped a lot. Then she switched me to actual bovine adrenaline. Totally helps!!!
It's my understanding that adrenal fatigue can put a load on your thyroid as well.
I'd talk to your doctor but here's the links to the ones I've used. phyto ADR.
The phyto is more or less ginseng but I can tell you it really helps.
but as someone else mentioned, if I sit around I get fatigued. The more I move around the better I feel. I had a 3 year old and a 3 month old so I am pretty active most all the time.
best, Squatched.
