Give it a shot. I'm not sure I'm the biggest fan of ExpressVPN, though. IVPN or ProtonVPN seem much better, from a privacy and security standpoint, although they're a bit more expensive.

Most VPNs I find don't work in China, I've tried a whole lot of VPNs marketed specifically for china and so far the only two that worked were Astrill VPN and Express VPN and I know that ExpressVPN is expirencing issues right now, but it's the most stable VPN I found for china yet, so I'll probably be sticking with it, and as for TOR, I can't really have a slow browser since the internet here is really slow to begin with (I'm getting about 1-50kbps right now, tho it's a bit higher most of the time in the 1-2 Mbps range
I'm using a VPN right now for Reddit, but even with VPNs it's not reliable 100% of the time, I mean it's a company (ExpressVPN) against China, a country with a really high GDP and more than a billion and a half in man power, I don't think ExpressVPN stands a chance if China decides to try
