Depending on how it was cut it might be okay, I’m not a groomer though so I’m not completely sure on that. All I know is it shouldn’t be completely shaved, maybe trimming with scissors is fine. And it’s ok, to be honest I don’t think most people would have thought about it, it’s a fairly common thing to shave dogs in the summer!

Yeah I would advise checking in with a vet before that kind of stuff as they’d probably know (although I would have thought that the groomer would have said something too!). Also I’m not sure how old yours is but I also have a GR and my vet advised to give him tablets with green lipped mussel extract in (I give mine one of these each day. Retrievers have bad joints (I’m not sure if that would have been picked up if yours is a mix, worth checking out!) and apparently this can help problems later on in life :)
