Cheap electric gooseneck kettle not digital. Have been using it for over 4 years now, zero issues. Weight distribution isn't anything like my Hario kettle though.
Cheap jewelry scales, have been using for over 3 years. Slight lag in readout, you get used to it.

been using this since September. Really like it. Costs 1k

Just buy this for 1000 rs on Amazon... It's electric and gives you the control while pouring. If you use other kettles, you lose temperature when you transfer the water. An electric gooseneck kettle is very expensive..
This does the job !
This is a little bit more than 2K but its the cheapest one from the traditional companies - the Hario, Alternatively if you just want something to try out for a while before going and investing in something like the Timemore, a generic one is fine for medium grind. Its pretty cheap and can get the job done.
The biggest difference between a good grinder and a not so good one is how even the grind is, and the cheaper ones, tend to have a bigger variance, and the more expensive ones, tend to be more consistent. Apart from that, its just build quality and convenience.
Usually, the instant ones aren't considered good, because they tend to remove a lot of the complexity in freshly ground coffee. But if convinience is what you are after, then, instant can work fine, but keep in mind, that things like espresso's and mocha's are all made from ground beans and not from instant coffee at cafe's.
So you gotta choose between convinence and quality.
Most of the coffees you see in cafe's are just a combination of espresso as the base and milk - Americano is espresso + water, and your regular capucinos and latte's and mocha's are all different ratios of espresso, steamed milk, water and cocoa powder( for mocha), So essentially at its core, you are looking at having a good espresso to start with and a way to steam you milk.
If convineince is your goal something like this can do your job. It has a built in steamer, to steam you milk for that froth that you find in cafe's.
But my recommended alternative (If you are somewhat of an enthusiast), is to consider getting an Aeropress with a coffee bean grinder, that way, you get coffee that's richer, and more complex. It does require effort though, as you will need to grind for about 5mins, then manually boil your water, etc.
TLDR; if you want something convinient - the link in the post, if you want something of good quality (and cheaper) but are willing to put some work in, every morning - Aeropress + a grinder for black coffee and a steamer for milk based coffee.

This doesnt retain heat that well (its not meant to) but i some hoow try to make it work.. the max u can get out of this during travel is say 20 odd mins..
i have this as well as vaya. like i said i use vaya when i have milk based drinks which can keep the coffee warmn for 2-3 hrs easily and these keep cups when i have black coffee

(Shamless plug) - https://dir.coffee for searchable list of coffees across roasters
I selected mine based on the qty of coffee it makes - I just needed 1 cup. Didnt see a bialetti one cup option. I also wanted a stainless steel version because of induction stove.
I ended up buying this - Atlasware Made in India Stainless... https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07DLSRSRG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
A redditor made the recommendation to me - been brewing on this for a while now - no complaints!!
Have been using this for years now, has a least count of 0.01. Cheap and easy to store away.
Found this through a cursory search, maybe it is close enough?

Get Columbian brew instant coffee sachets pack(non-flavored ones).
Taste better as black, but won't go wrong with milk too.
You could get the most basic grinder something like thisthis
This would do you some good and you can keep it for occasional use till you switch to grinding full time
500 ml is large. Look for beer mugs... I did find this though: RKK 500 ml Cream Cup, Soup Bowl, Glass Coffee Mugs, Heat Resistant Large Clear Mug with Handle for Milk, Latte, Cappuccinos, Tea Bag Beverage - Set of 4 https://www.amazon.in/dp/B099Q1SL8L/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_WCFPTBZGMERGXQJDM40E
Purchased from a local store. But you can find similar once at Amazon. Similar once

I saw the review of this one and liked it. I also saw the price at Rs. 4,900 but it is Rs. 5,300 now.
I did not buy it, because I did not think this would grind it fine enough for espresso.
thisis million times better

Sorry for delayed response, how about this one?
The base's diameter is around 7cm and it just works on ny induction. This is my induction model: PHILIPS Viva Collection HD4938/01 2100-Watt Glass Induction Cooktop with Sensor Touch (Black) https://www.amazon.in/dp/B00EDJIWFY
I'm using the threeH and no issues till now. Refresh rate or whatever it is okay. Accuracy is also within a gram or so.
The timer is convenient. I have been using a jewellery scale previously so can't compare it to the timemore ones.
The hoffen one others recommend is also cheaper but I can't find any reviews anywhere.
You can also go for a cheap kitchen/ Jewellery scale and kids digital watch with stopwatch and achieve the same results if you don't want to spend much initially.
I started with this one. Switched to v60 a while back but this is still maintained. Glass is pretty good quality....

Hey dude, if you're into some more expensive stuff, try KC Roasters, Third Wave and Blue Tokai.
If you're on a budget, you can try this brand 'Home Blend' . I got 1kg from Amazon for 1150. For the price I found it to be really... smooth, mildly sweet, zero bitterness when brewed correctly :)
You can start your black coffee journey with a french press, aeropress or pourover. I personally brew using this insulated steel French press from Instacuppa and I religiously follow the Hoffman method. But you can google all the methods and pick what you love most.
Do get a weighing scale accurate to 0.1g and use a stopwatch, it makes a big difference.
I tried a few. Haven't found the perfect one yet. Basically technique matters more than the device you're using. So get any brand you want. I'm still looking for the perfect one because, glass ones let me see the amount of milk that has expanded and I can adjust my pumping accordingly. But they are glass and my butter fingers will end up breaking them sooner rather than later. The stainless steel ones are very sturdy and very good quality, but the foam is inconsistent as I'm not able to see what I'm doing when I'm pumping. I've now ordered glass ones that are encased in a metal frame with some see through glass areas this one Hopefully this one will the one.
Brands I tried were instacuppa, cafe jei, instalite and fruitalite.
I also tried the milk foamer devices, this but cleaning it thoroughly is very hard as the filter is not detachable and it started smelling bad after day 2.
Hope this helps.
I'd strongly, strongly recommend the Aeropress. - More versatile - Less acidity - More forgiving - Faster - Less coffee needed to brew comparable quantity
If you want a cheap knockoff version, there's one being sold by Kaldipress https://www.amazon.in/KaldiPress-Coffee-Press-Percolator-Filters/dp/B09MS5JD7Q/ref=sr_1_18?crid=2VBB4FA428WFA&keywords=aeropress&qid=1640617489&sprefix=aeropre%2Caps%2C236&sr=8-18&th=1
BUT I'd strongly suggest the original one. Also the paper filters lasted me around 2-3 years - I had 3 cups a day. Lol. I reused them atleast 2-3 times so....
This one has Bluetooth, timer, app etc. Seems perfect for coffee brewing.
Hesley Kitchen Scale, Smart Food Scale,3 in 1 Function as Digital Kitchen/Coffee/Nutrition Scale with Nutritional Calculator and Timer, Using APP to Track Calorie Protein Fat https://www.amazon.in/dp/B08Q7D4HNJ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_ZS6PQ72SRV2QDYXD89XJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I use this for the aeropress.
I think it's this one they're talking about.
I'd say skip this especially if stagg is a considerable option. Ekg's flow rate is frustratingly slow for any other purposes but it's absolutely perfect for pourovers and has a nice built and I've never had any trouble with mine.
That is a good idea.
However, there is something like that, I have linked it below.
There are idiots in review of such products that actually tries to use it like a moka pot on the flame
I use a battery driven frother.
I tried a Hario.
https://www.amazon.in/Hario-Stainless-Frother-23-4x7-8x7-8cm-CZ-1/dp/B0031I7PWY/
Expensive, good results, but it fell and stopped working. Then, I got a Chinese one on Amazon at about Rs.125. It worked just as well as the Hario. Only, it conked out after 6 months and then I got another one, which has been working for about 7 or 8 months now.
My technique is that I use the frother while the milk is heating, and the steam makes frothing better and easier.

I bought this. Used it for a few days but it almost had a mind of its own. Returned it. Now looking for a good jewellery scale with a capacity over 600gms, since the current one that I have is a small one that only has a capacity of 100gms so I can weigh my beans and the ground coffee but not the output.
Get ready for the downvotes my man. You’re on the wrong sub, as instant coffee isn’t considered coffee here. Don’t let it get to you, you don’t have to like/dislike something coz others do. Drink what your taste buds fancy. I loved columbian brew coffees, they do come in a lot of flavours. You can try their assorted pack and see what you like. County bean has some nice flavours too, personally tried caramel and loved it. Beanies here is another one I liked.
I'm glad I could be of help. Your setup looks good for start. The AeroPress prices fluctuates, last week it was 2450. You can get it from here, the seller Muhavara are actually Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters. They are verified sellers of Aerobie AeroPress in India. You can also try their coffee. I like their Thogarihunkal, and Vienna Roast.
Happy mornings!
Yeh, a French Press could froth milk for lattes, but you'll have to do a super concentrated brew using a FP to make the latte taste decent :s IMO, coffee brewed w/ a French Press using regular recipes is too watery for a latte or cappuccino.
Not talking about a kitchen scale, but something like this - https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07BRW68XG/ so you can be accurate with the amount of coffee or beans you are brewing. This scale has a 1kg limit, but you can get a lower weight version like 200g. Many of this type of jewellery scales are tiny so weighing food doesn't work well.
If you don't have a scale, you'll have to go by scoops.
When you buy a hand grinder or an electric version, check up on recommendations. Better to go for one that's going to last you a long time.

Here's one. You can get plenty on Amazon and in different shapes as well
This is what I'm using but I'd say you need not purchase a scale. 0.01g precision is what usually recommended but that's not going to be huge game changer as long as you're able to maintain the ground:water weight ratio. That much is manageable with a kitchen scale too.
That helps a lot, thanks! I have another silly doubt, does the carafe that comes with the v60 set work for the aeropress as well? As in, does the aeropress fit on top of the carafe for pressing the coffee?
Hario V60 Craft Coffee Maker White, 1-4cups https://www.amazon.in/dp/B096BM2GKG/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_DFNHNV3H9ZYWXY1HXHCY
I use the HASTHIP Pour Over Coffee Dripper. It's cheap and works wonders. Does not need a paper. I still don't have a gooseneck kettle. You can make a good pour over coffee without a gooseneck kettle but if you are going to do it everyday then to save time and make it hassle free, I do feel a gooseneck kettle and a thermometer are necessary.
You could just buy a coffee brass clip. Reusable, long lasting and looks good too. Here's one from IKEA on Amazon - https://www.amazon.in/Ikea-DIGNITET-Coffee-Measure-Brass/dp/B07SZ4J7Y3/ref=sr\_1\_5?keywords=ikea+spoon+coffee&qid=1637120669&sr=8-5
I've seen it ship with every bag from Savorworks. This is the closest product I could find on Amazon:

The trick to making south indian coffee, like the darshinis, is boiling your milk with sugar. The coffee itself is a slow drip decoction through a south indian coffee maker. Use a medium/dark coffee with a slightly coarser than espresso grind.
I have been using [this one](https://www.amazon.in/Milton-Thermosteel-Flask-milliliters-Silver/dp/B00MIYM0VS) for years, and the insulation is amazing. I can vouch for this product.
The fact that you don't have to open the lid fully to pour the contents out helps in maintaining the temperature. Have carried coffee in this one on road trips and enjoyed drinking it hot on the way. There are 750ml and 500ml variants too.
have it for 3, 4 years now. don't always use it for coffee. easy 20 hrs peak temperature. what i like about it is that, it doesn't look too bulky. its vacumn no none of that "breaking" nonsense. you did say that you'd prefer to have a cup along with it but this doesn't have it. works quite well for what it is though.
haven't tried instacuppa yet, maybe somone else has some insight for you. cheers.
Hario Buono but it's 700 over your budget
you won't get a burr grinder in that price range, anything except your home grinder will be a waste of 3k. maybe get a vacuum machine and order preground, then split your coffee into small quantities and freeze to ensure longevity.
I haven't used this personally but I found this kettle has good reviews on Amazon. kettle
Try Columbian Brew for instant. I like it far better than Nescafe and Bru. Although I would suggest start with filter coffee. Check this out for instant, I like it as an americano and with milk as well.
Is it accessible now? This.
If it's still not accessible, it's an amazon link. Columbian brew provides flavor boxes as well as a normal instant coffee pack of 180 sachets. I have ordered this for when I need instant coffee as a backup option.
Then take it it back and forth from the low flame without shaking too much till the amount of coffee you want is brewed without sputtering. If your gas stove has a heat diffuser similar to this, you can keep moving the pot slowly to the edge and back ..
Once you are sure most of the flow is done, put the base on a wet cloth to stop brewing.
Look up a few YT videos about brewing with the moka pot .. you'll surely find pointers about what not to do and get towards better coffee - I'll recommend a channel called Wired Gourmet - he has a whole moka pot series

I got this as my first, lasted me a good 2 years. Great for a beginner , you can always upgrade to a better one later
Can I substitute this for the espresso maker? This seems to be portable and cheap so that's a big plus. How good of an espresso will I get from it?
I have this but its out of stock it seems. Quite fast reading though limited to 1g accuracy. Works just about fine for morning brews with Clever Dripper. I brew upto 400gms of coffee so the error isnt that pronounced.
https://www.amazon.in/AmazonBasics-Stainless-Digital-Batteries-Included/dp/B06X9NQ8GX
You can use this from HealthSense. Decently accurate. Using it for about a year now. It wont be that accurate as professional coffee scales like Hario but does the job.
Happy brewing!
HEy, this is the one I use, its a generic import but has a steel base
Its quite close with some in measuring though it cuts off after 5 minutes on its own.
Hey! I've been debating my first espresso machine for a while now. The Tecnora Epic initially seemed promising but after spending time on this subreddit I've come to realize it isn't highly recommended. I was also considering a Delonghi specifically this one . After seeing your post I checked out ID gourmets website and found an alternate variant which is the Gran Gaggia Prestige. Was hoping for your 2 cents on whether the Gran Gaggia Prestige is a good model and if there's a substantial difference between the Prestige and new classic to justify the 15k difference in cost.
Whats the difference between the uno dos and tres versions? Are these slower than these? Did you compare times with paper filers?
