I’m going on a trip this winter, and I just started assembling my kit!
I bought this pencil bag from Amazon.
I have a mechanical pencil, a few drawing pencils, micron Sakura pens, tombow fudensuke pens, a white gel pen, a clear glaze gel pen, eraser, pencil sharpener, glue tape, and a ruler.
I also have a journal, obviously.
I have a separate big bag for all my colored pencils and tombow brush markers, but I feel sort of naked without any color in my sketch kit. I might end up putting some colored pencils into the small kit, not sure yet.

Go to a craft store and get a bunch of sheets of felt in a neutral colour, I used cream like these: https://www.amazon.com/Acrylic-Felt-Sheet-12-Ivory/dp/B00O29UG68/ . I used them when I made paper from scratch. They are heavy enough to give the wet (fragile) paper some protection yet won't absorb the colour/dye/paint off the pages like paper towels or microfiber cloth.
I use something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L5F6SG8/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_glt_fabc_237KH1PJJY2260E7DVSQ
A drawer/easel combo thing, mostly because i already had it. And i put my flat stickers in a jamstudio sticker book i found on jetpens.com
Nice, thank you!
I want you to be honest and critical with me, would you buy something that looked like these?

thank you! that is a great question- instead of markers i use pentel water brushes ( https://www.amazon.com/Pentel-Aquash-Water-Assorted-FRHBFMBP3/dp/B00AX31TZO ) in the smallest size. they are portable like markers but you can use them with gouache or watercolor so you have a lot more control over opacity and color choice. there is a learning curve with figuring out how to use them but once you get them to work they are very helpful!
My favorite journal 📔I have tried many types, and this one I recommend. I found it on amazon, 3x pack journals. Here is the link...📔😊

Hope this helps. Check my profile, most of my journals are with this one 😊💚📔🙌🏽
Universum is good. Simple and easy to use. You can add photos, drawings, task reminders, track your mood, and stuff like that. It also has a password option for privacy. You can make a local backup or choose the cloud option for Google drive, or export to PDF.
Thank you for the link, it is really handy and I already found some inspiring lists inside. I'm new here so I don't know it has already been talked about but I also recommend this book: 642 Things to Write About It's full of prompts of all sort inciting you to write short stories about anything. It may be more directed toward authors, professional or not, but I think it can also come in handy for anyone who don't know what to put in their journal. There is also 642 Things to Draw and recently 712 More Things to Write About.
Well it sort of depends on what kind of pen or whatever you want to use. I mean some people use Sakura Gelly Rolls, some people use other gel pens. I like These personally. It comes down to your personal preferences.
