The most likely cause is a bad speedometer cable.
You can diagnose this yourself by unscrewing the cable from the back of the speedometer and slowly pushing the bike. If the cable isn't turning, that's your problem. They fatigue over time and are prone to breaking.
If that turns out to be the issue, a new cable can be bought on Amazon for $16.99.
https://www.amazon.com/1PZ-E95-001-Speedometer-Kawasaki-Motorcycles/dp/B07FY63KPK
Installing one is very simple, just disconnect both ends and remove the cable and its sheath. It may have a clip or metal bracket holding it in place near the fender you might need to remove.
If the cable is not broken, you will need a new speedometer. The cable is much more likely to be the issue however.
Only ever give 50% on the road bags Mate tracks are for going fast. If you’re fairly New to riding or even if you aren’t I’d suggest getting Motorcycle roadcraft: the police rider's handbook https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0117083798/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_VN7ZSWEWK7D0EDCWSWP4
You should probably get the accessory relay and a USB port meant for mounting in the correct spot. The relay itself is cheap, and you can buy plenty of USB outlets on Amazon that will fit in that spot correctly. If you store your bike for a while, sometimes that converter in the USB hub to drop the voltage from 14 to 5 volts can just be an additional drain in your battery.

Trickle chargers deliver a constant current of the same strength the entire time the battery is on the charger. Battery Tender® chargers have a four step process where they (1) determine the charge level and battery composition, then they (2) pump high current until the battery is at 80%, then (3) slow it down until 100%, and then (4) float mode let's the charge drop down and then brings it back up to keep it fully charged without overcharging or discharging.
All that is to say I'd recommend the Battery Tender® Junior for your bike! 100% biased opinion, but check out the reviews.

Yes, there is a bracket that bolts to the two holes on top of the fender. It's prolly 8 or so inches long. The top of the bracket has Velcro which meshes to the bottom of the bag for extra security. There's a small gap between the bracket and the fender as well.
Btw, is that this windscreen? How do you like it? Been looking for a bigger one for a while but this was the only one I could find.
I got these cheap Amazon mirrors and love em: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T87NLJH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_MQQoFb2G6TDDF

ahh i see the problem. You have to buy 3rd party spools for the paddock stand to connect to. Here are the exact ones I bought. They screw into already existing holes. Should take 30 seconds to install. You can see in the picture that they stick out from the bike
Every person should own a basic thread-chasing set. They're not expensive at all. Here's the one I use - $40 from Amazon and made in USA too : ). I've used this countless times.
I got a leather/mesh combo jacket from Jackets4Bikes off Amazon for about $75 and its remarkably well made and very comfortable for summer commuting. I changed out the shoulder & elbow armor with Alpinestars Nucleon C2 pads just to be on the safe side, but so far I'm really liking it. Very well ventilated but still leather/armor where you need it. I think it looks pretty sharp too (Kawi green & white -- goes with my zx6) https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Motorcycle-Leather-Riding-Jacket/dp/B000WLHTHE?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1
Oh god I can't imagine riding down the interstate with it strapped to my pants haha. I think what I'm going to do is get this strap and see how it works. Seems to have pretty good reviews and might be one of my only options. Thanks for the help!

is what I use. Shit is magical. Spray on, wait 5 mins, rinse off. No need to scrub and risk little scratches.
I had this exact problem for my 2019 Ninja 400. I didn’t want a RAM mount, and trying to make a clamp fit in the middle was janky.
There’s VERY little space on the bars for a standard mount, and I didn’t one that just clipped on.
I settled on this, and it’s great: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096W7FKJR There is also a version that will charge your phone while mounted. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and it fits fine, and is very secure.
They’re on there pretty tight. Right side should be normal threaded and left side should be reverse threaded. I used the smaller of these: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-2pc-Self-Adjusting-Auto-Locking-Pliers-2-Pack-Tongue-Groove-Plier-Set/999957733
Because I didn’t have the correct sided wrench and didn’t want to strip the nut. I did destroy the mount visually from the amount of pressure required to squeeze and then pull it loose, especially the left side in my case.
Also, be sure you have purchased some plugs off Amazon for the holes. These worked well and seem better than many flathead versions I’ve seen online. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09MYBLFGD?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_61PTM0YQSKRB4XQDF9Z5

Looks like they rotate so there are actually mirrors to see something behind you. Do they tilt out?
I think they are fine and if you're in a situation where you don't want to be distracted by what is behind you, then you have that choice, plus, less drag.

Looks great! I love that color scheme on the Z. First thought is go ride! You'll know what you like and don't like the more you ride.
Second thought is bar end mirrors. Really enhances the aggressive look of the bike when the bunny ears are gone, plus most bar ends give you better rear visibility because you aren't having to peer past your own arm and shoulder every time you look in the mirror.

Just bought these for my girlfriend's 2019 z400 because I have the round version from the same brand on my sv650 and they are fantastic. I'll install them tomorrow when they ship and let you know if there are any issues but for $25 the round ones on the SV have been a massive improvement in visibility and style for what amounts to pennies in terms of bike customization.
You can certainly buy more expensive ones but I'd try something cheap like these first to see if you like bar ends and then go from there.

I put this in my 21 KLX300sm and it works perfect. I do recommend it. Basically any bulb with the H4 connector should just be plug and play. Buddies say my headlight is way brighter now and looks nicer too.

Not sure what your plans are, but I went with THIS so I could save some room in the seat area for my Power Commander V. Not a lot of room back there.
Plus I wanted as much break light as possible for cars to see. Not to mention a lot cheaper :)
It's a great anchor point but be aware that you need a very good hammerdrill to get the screws in to a concrete surface.
Check out Canyon Dancers straps. They're brilliant and they help secure the bike better as long as you don't have bar-end mirrors. I may use a 2-bike utility trailer but I still use these whenever possible:

It helps a little I think. I haven't tried at 80+ mph yet which is where it gets rough lol. Here's a link to Amazon and the one I bought. It took like a month to get here so if you want to save s few $$$ but don't mind the wait go for it.
I located the exhaust: https://www.amazon.com/KAJIMOTOR-Motorcycle-Exhaust-Muffler-Kawasaki/dp/B07S72DVDH/
$53 holy crap! Things sure have changed since I put a slip-on on my old ZZR600 that I think cost me at least a couple hundred dollars 14 years ago. In all honesty it sounds fine and looks really nice though. I'll watch the exhaust. It seems like it's actual carbon fiber (or a thin veneer?) as it was merely warm after following my wife home on surface roads about 20 miles.
The frame sliders don't look bad, they have a green inner piece and the outer rim, but yah I'll probably replace those. What good are frame sliders if they're not trustworthy?
I've already removed the weird tank pads and Tech Spec is exactly what I was thinking (had that on a ZZR600 and an SV650S).
Thank you!

We have the same engine. I have the Z900. I just bought mine and I love it! Your bike is awesome! I bought a tail tidy, frame sliders, tank pad, radiator guard and bar end mirrors so far. Leovince slip on is next payday. tail tidy
I purchased the Nineo RGB kit Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DZYXJT8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oSNEFb81PCC5H
Was fairly easy to install and the LEDs are ultra bright. I wired in a toggle switch myself.
The rear cowl I scored off of eBay. It’s not a PERFECT fit and there’s a small gap above the taillight. But for 50$ as opposed to 250$ from Kawasaki I’ll deal with it.
Got it off Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XM5CFTZ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Got to keep my factory blinkers and led license plate light. Super easy conversion. The cool thing i just noticed the other day, is the width of the factory front blinkers and the back are now close to the same width apart.
I got this one off amazon. It was slightly cheaper and i think looks cooler with the cut out.

Im still torn on if i want to get the center stand or not. Its more weight and you cant lean as far but it makes working on your bike soooooo nice.
Hey there, congrats! The bike is a blast, you’ll love it. It is reflective wheel tape and comes in all kinds of colors - you can find it on Amazon from seller CustomTaylor33. Here’s a link to the red to match your bike: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G6188EM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zkUpEbN6VS4SR
The bulbs are tricky, the bike doesn't like aftermarket bulbs. It doesn't see them and throws a fault. I have these installed, and work great. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FWMB1L1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_s9VbDb2B7921T
They required a generic cover that took some Dremeling but all sealed up and good airflow for the bulbs to cool. There might be a better set out, if there is i want it!
I have successfully used Beamtech bulbs
With these boots to keep dust out.
Worked fine as a drop in replacement on my 2018 ZX10RR.
Dang man that sucks, dropping a brand new bike. I test rode a Ninja 400 and 650 before buying the Z900 but the 650 was a peppy little bike. Lots of usable low end torque for the horsepower figure.
As for the replacement parts here are a set of decent levers that look better than stock. As far as the fairings I've bought OEM stuff from here. It's a little pricey but it's legit OEM stuff not "OEM" stuff off eBay.
I have never owned a ZX11, but I buy one these Clymer manuals for every bike I have purchased. They are a fantastic resource. I wouldn't worry about the one review for the manual, the guy just said it doesn't explain wiring diagram well enough. He might be right, but for mechanical stuff, this book is solid.
Here is a link from Clymer's site. I have always purchased mine from Amazon, though.
I bought these ones (which claimed to be better than regular foam ones) but I'm not sure how good they gonna be. I'll test next week on a 600km trip. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alpine-MotoSafe-Pro-Motorcycle-Attenuation/dp/B06Y25SM97
For the price I presume it must be better than the cheap ones. Anyway, the best scenario would be to have a better isolated helmet + the earplugs, as long as I can still hear any danger around me.
No. Some Amazon units. Got the idea from a YouTuber. Had a short in the socket on one side. Had to cut the harness and hardwire in. Very easy.

If you have the toolkit that came with the bike, then there should be one of these. Otherwise, a thin-wall deep-well 16mm socket (double-check the plug size on your bike) like this with an extension should work.

I found an online download manual for my 440. Looked for a 400 and found this but when I downloaded it, it only listed the kz500. Probably close to identical bikes but not completely sure.
More traditionally, Haynes has a 400/440 manual you can buy on amazon.
For mechanics, I actually got lucky and work with a lot of bike guys. One turned me on to this little shop ran by 1 guy and an assistant. Went there and he told me stories of the 400, 3 different 440s, and the 500 he owned in the past. He basically could work on my bike with his eyes closes. Ask around and look up some lesser known shops. I have also found that factory sales/mechanic shops tend not to touch older bikes like these.
I'll bet you could find a kit for a sportbike with the LED light and license plate bracket that would work. Something like this: http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B006GZHO9I Do that, then you could trim the fender.
So, I got mine from amazon here
I personally never had issues, I quite like these levers. I even had a mechanic check it out. Now there are like 100's of variations of a similar design, but the one I have seems to be decent, and has great reviews on amazon.
I have one of you want me to take pics and send you some pages. I just can't part with it.
