Drink ample water throughout the day to thin the mucus. Sipping small amounts throughout the day is better that drinking 8+ ounces quickly.
Vocal steamers are another big help. This one works great: https://www.amazon.com/Personal-Inhaler-Vaporizer-Aromatherapy-Diffuser/dp/B000AYYK5M
My throat is constantly has a lump and it does burn, esp when speaking and and terribly painful when I talk. I use a humidifier and it helped with bloody nose, but not with dry mouth or throat burning. It always feels raw and i clear my throat throughout the day.
I just saw a post on making the Gavison, not sure if I bookmarked it, it’s cool that it can be made. I know that a little bit of baking soda is a way to make alkaline water. Both Gavison and Alkaline water are expensive.
I’ll look up Acid Watchers. I’m trying to follow an alkaline diet, but it’s not easy to know what is and what isn’t alkaline.
There are a bunch of different filters. Here is one I was looking at. There is also a counter pitcher. I drink a lot of water so not sure which one to get. They both get good reviews.
Best of luck to both to you too!

Hard to say that a specific probiotic is better than others, this is the one I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KWCVBN5?ref=nb\_sb\_ss\_w\_as-ypp-ro-model\_ypp\_ro\_model\_k1\_1\_6&amp&crid=251Z1MEOQL8RM&amp&sprefix=probio
This is the one I take: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KWCVBN5?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-ypp-ro-model_ypp_ro_model_k1_1_6&amp&crid=251Z1MEOQL8RM&amp&sprefix=probio It probably doesn't matter as much though.
I just try to drink tea until it goes. Sometimes oatmilk helps. I've also used this product from Amazon - I haven't had it help my GERD but it coats the throat and gives some relief, at least to me.
I think so! I saw a big difference over two months when I took this one twice a day: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KWCVBN5?ref=nb\_sb\_ss\_w\_as-ypp-ro-model\_ypp\_ro\_model\_k1\_1\_4&amp&crid=2Z8YSC7KHWJEW&amp&sprefix=prob
Digestive enzymes are actually found naturally in raw foods. Pineapple for example has bromelain which aids in the digestion of foods and its why your tongue gets raw from eating a bunch of pineapple. You can buy premade enzymes which really help in digesting foods especially heavy rich foods. Digest Gold is what I usually get I find it to be very helpful. It's certainly not a cure but I do find it to be helpful: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L2JWQWI/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_A57PVSK2Z8GX6FGZ038F
I have LPR. It’s been about a year and a half now. A note on Vit C. Remember it’s acidic. Consider taking a buffered version (it will say ‘Buffered’ on the label).
Also, be sure to take it with food regardless if it’s buffered or not. And don’t take a massive amt. Start low and work up so you can see if it is bothering you. I kinda doubt the zinc and b vitamins are problematic.
If you can drink or gargle with alkaline water during the night and first thing in the morning that might help as well.
I know how much this all sucks. Hang in there. You will find the way that works for you. ❤️
There’s so many out there so it’s hard to say what helps and what doesn’t. I personally take one of these in the morning and one at night, I fee like they’ve helped? I've been using these for a while: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085SW692H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I feel like they've helped.
Can't win them all, stuff is always gonna have some additives, it did help me though. I've also tried this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B5N51DM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 , it does have some other additives.
I'm using this device: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FE8N7Y4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and following their instructions, 2 sets of 10 full inhalations and exhalations, 1 minute of rest in between, do you mind sharing your program?
I attempted to make my own and did not have any luck. Bought it here: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GDHU1EE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I added this, and sodium bicarbonate, and a water. I think the water was the problem. Let me know if you figure it out!
Your symptoms don't sound that much different than mine from a few months ago! Mine started in April when I tried to reduce my dose of PPI, do you know how your problems started?
I also take pantoprazole and an H2 blocker and those never fully resolved my symptoms. I'm having more tests done in November to confirm what is the root cause, but November is a long time from now, I was in so much discomfort I had to try something, and luckily the things I tried helped me!
I've discussed Marial with my gastro and she's ok with me taking it, my life has been transformed in the last 3 weeks. The breathing device is worth a shot at least, it's relatively cheap. Marial is expensive to import, but it really made me turn a corner, not a lot of treatments protect the throat directly, and you should be able to have it imported to Canada.
If you're on the fence about Marial, one of the active ingredients (though not the only one) is hyaluronic acid (it's no the same type of bad-for-the-throat-acid like lime juice), I've tried oral hyaluronic acid supplements and THEY DO relieve my symptoms, not to the same degree as Marial, but they do help ,I've used this one, you let it dissolve in your mouth. It might be a relatively cheap thing to try before pulling the trigger on importing.
Feel free to DM me, I know this condition sucks.
In general probiotics are considered safe and somewhat helpful for many gastro symptoms. I've read accounts of folks that developed LPR after repeated courses of antibiotics, which makes you wonder if your microbiome is a factor.
If you have not taken probiotics before, be advised that it can take your body some time to adjust, I take a daily 1 Billion probiotic, when I've tried stronger probiotics I've dealt with constipation, so just be advised. If you like the probiotic you got please report back!
Yup, it comes in two forms! Here's the link to the tablets: https://www.amazon.com/Gaviscon-Advance-Chewable-Tablets-Peppermint/dp/B012YJ45CI/ref=sxts_rp_s1_0?cv_ct_cx=gaviscon+advance&dchild=1&keywords=gaviscon+advance&pd_rd_i=B012YJ45CI&pd_rd_r=b4a523c0-9fd8-493e-b00d-c35096b0a076&pd_rd_w=3yGKz&pd_rd_wg=dxVwP&pf_rd_p=f99754cc-0195-4f26-b585-4ddc29d85a2d&pf_rd_r=93Q2F7SME4P3FKZTTTS7&psc=1&qid=1629421758&sr=1-1-f0029781-b79b-4b60-9cb0-eeda4dea34d6
It's made a huge difference for me, it's not a miracle drug but it does help a lot of folks.
There's another product called Reflux gourmet (also available on amazon) that's essentially the same as Gaviscon Advance (liquid), it might even be cheaper. Both products are thick so I'm not surprised that people report that GA does congeal, I've bought both of these before with no issues. I still prefer the tablets, the liquid alginates coat my throat a little too much and that also feels uncomfortable, if you can afford it I'd try both to see what you prefer.

I got these from Amazon.. I’ve heard there’s a good amount benefits.
It's hard to say which one exactly has been helping because out of desperacy I started taking a few different ones. The first was a Leaky Gut supplement that I found on Amazon by "Amen" that I took for a month since I knew my vocal problems start at my gut, and that particular one had great reviews from people suffering from IBS and GERD. My suspected IBS symptoms did seem to improve where my stomach stopped looking physically bloated and I seemed to have less regular indigestion from GERD.
To add to that supplement, I found 2 others that are meant to help strengthen your vocal chords, specifically formulated for singers and professional speakers, and I started taking both the same day. One is "VitaVocal Throat & Voice Enhancer" and the other " Voice37 - Throat Remedy for Singers". I didn't notice much improvement from these until about 2-3 weeks in and also wasn't taking them as frequently as recommended, but the past 2 weeks I can definitely say without a doubt that my voice is stronger.
On top of those supplements, I do think the steam inhaler helps a ton which I'm using most mornings and sometimes multiple times a day, and I've also been doing straw vocal warmups on days that I'm going to perform which are also supposed to help strengthen your vocal chords.
I have been drinking alcohol more frequently these past 2 weeks than I had all last year from the Holidays and have suffered hardly any throat irritation and damage. Since 2018, I have never been able to have even 2 drinks in a single night without a sore throat the next day so this tells me something is definitely helping.
