I just bought this after spending some time on ih8mub. We’ll see, it seems like the right way.

I do keep it folded down when in the garage obviously.
Welcome to the club. Start searching for rock warrior OEM 17s now, it took me 2 years to find a set. Also, get one of these
The ladder is too high to be useable on its own, so you have to have a step ladder of some kind. And also with the tires in the back, it is much more easier to load cargo from the sides than the back. I use one of these telescoping ladders instead. https://www.amazon.com/Telescopic-Telescoping-Collapsible-Extension-Extendable/dp/B00D3TD79Q
Without knowing specifics, this is just a general suggestion. Prothane Bushing Kit @ Amazon
You can use this kit (or one similar) to replace those end link bushings and it comes with the sway bar bushings as well...since those are likely in the same condition if I were forced to guess.
If it were me, I would also find some proper end links.
They're solid

I replaced the alt on my '07 LX470 fall 2015, it probably had about 85k miles on it at the time. I found the part number for the alt then look on amazon and paid $160 or so for it. Here it is on amazon. This isn't a very hard part to change out. You have to remove the serpentine belt then unbolt a couple things but its not hard. You could check youtube for the process if you thought you might want to try and tackle it.
Like a battery I see an alternator as a wear item that will need to be replaced with time. Good luck.
I got a ball mount from amazon, and two sided taped it to my ashtray (94 FZJ80). Very solid and the ball is fairly universal.

A few things to note, if you're under 5'10 it's a pretty far lean into the back of the engine bay. Have a friend hold the ladder - I only fell once off of mine.
Be careful not to break them further when you take them out. If they're brittle, you're likely to collapse them when you move back the hose clamp. This happened to me and I had to try and fish out the broken bits of plastic from inside the tube.
Also, don't forget to burp your coolant afterwards. You won't spill out much coolant, but some will come out - you don't want air in your lines.
It can't hurt. If you've done it before, hopefully the clips are rotated now so they're easier to grab.
If they aren't, these made the job even easier: OEM Tools Hose Clamp Pliers
This happened on my 93 mr2 a few weeks back. There is a plastic “button” that deteriorates, causing the switch to get “stuck” on. This is the part that I replaced mine with. Not sure if it’s the same on the LC. Get down in the footwell and look for plastic bits on the ground and then up at peddle assembly to see if you can see where the button should go. Like others mentioned, you could probably rig it with duct tape or something, but this is like a 5 min job.

I'm all for upgrading, but these two for $8 is hard to beat. I've been using one for a few months and it seems pretty solid.

Nice truck. Id take a look at one of these for next trip tho
These are the ones but mine had black centers so I don’t know. The next link shows another product with silver centers but customer pics show blacks centers so wtf knows. I have had no issues with the ones I received.
I have one of these. It's an Android head unit that fits in where the radio was. It has all sorts of inputs on the back. I don't have a backup camera but I have a dash camera. It also has a GPS antenna and comes with Torque.
Although it has built-in Google Maps unless you download the maps to the unit, it needs to use Carplay to do directions. I use my iPhone hooked up to it to play Sirius radio and do navigation.
The link for the tool I used is below. I have a 100 there is enough room to use it just a little angle. To do it right drill out one of holes but i found its not needed.

I got fed up with mine and ordered a stubby with conversion.. Yes, they are expensive. Very little difference in reception. No more worrying about it retracting or not.
If you really want a long whip. Contact them they will charge a little more but replace the whip with a 16" one. Cheaper and easier then doing a tundra antenna swap. Less annoying then having a power retract one that will break again in the future. Now worry about trail/car wash damage with the stubby.

I've just bought this for my 80.
It runs full android, so you can run whatever apps you want on it. I haven't fitted it yet, but I've seen it in other 80s.
There's tons of other ones similar to this, but do your research before buying. Some are shit, some are great.
Between myself and my 2001 LX's previous owner, nearly 300,000 kms were driven on almost exclusively 87 Octane with zero problems.
The manual recommends it but it is not strictly necessary. And the LC is identical to the LX in that regard.
However...
When you drive something long enough, you start to pay attention to the little things. The 2UZ-FE definitely has one or more knock sensors, and I could tell when the engine timing was being adjusted back to compensate (usually lugging up a hill).
That definitely happened more frequently on 87 vs. 91 Octane. Also, I got marginally better fuel economy on 91, but not enough IMO to justify the price difference.
If you're looking for some other way to be kind to your engine, I highly recommend Lucas Upper Cylinder Lube Fuel additive.
I am extremely dubious of the claims of most snake-oil additive companies, and while this stuff did nothing good or bad to my power/fuel-economy numbers, at less than $2/tank it more than paid for itself in reduced oil wear and increased intervals between changes.
I bought one of these so I could properly attach our seat. Seems to do the job just fine. I’ve used it with front facing and now a booster seat.
I have a Bluetooth code reader that I use. This is a similar one, I used to have it but gave it away.
Then you can download Torgue Pro or similar to read the codes.
Bluetooth scanners only work on Android phones though. I have an Android head unit, and I keep the code reader plugged in so I can monitor the few things I can monitor on my 80 Series.
Also if you take the car into Auto Zone or someplace, they will read your codes for you.
this anker bluetooth adapter/receiver works well for me and is the cheapest option for sure.
This worked for me on the land cruiser, just had to drill a few additional mounting points, but fit was good. As for the wiring I had replace the stock amp with an aftermarket 5 channel, so your wiring maybe a bit different.

I bought this recently for my TLC. It seems to be the same or similar to most of the other racks I see around town. It's a nice rack and pretty cheap. Especially if you buy a return, like I did.
It just went right in the stock 2” receiver. Quite impressive how much it can hold. It also folds up, and still allows access to the top rear window to open. Agreed. I wasn't sure if powder coating was an option for something plastic like the front grill, but I did a combination of black and a metallic version and it looks like a factory job against the gray paint (which is also metallic). Sure, I have a chip or 2 over 2 years of highway driving, but my chrome was starting to flake off so that's not helping matters.

The only thing I'd change about it is to add a knob to make it easy to pull out when you want to grab a cold drink from the cool box (which works incredibly well). Any knob for a cabinet will do the trick.

Sounds like my fan bearing did when it was failing on my 2000 lx, almost had an exhaust-y sound from the drivers seat. The bearing is built into the fan bracket. Not too expensive of a part($100ish on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0031GCUEY), but a pain to remove. For the fan bracket to clear when pulling it out, you have to rotate the a/c compressor out of the way just a bit which requires loosening a bolt you can’t see under the manifold. Additionally, the bolts holding the fan onto the pulley/bracket are pretty soft. I rounded one off and replaced them with stainless when I put it back together. Here’s a pretty good video on the timing belt maintenance that shows the fan bracket removal: https://youtube.com/watch?v=4dO8KW1-NQs&t=11m55s

I don’t have a before pic, and the cluster is a PITA to hook up the speedo cable so I am not going back to take a bad pic. The improvement is substantial. I literally couldn’t read the lower gauges at all with the dim incandescent bulbs.
If you’re unaware, it looks like you’re missing the actual cup holder part of the cup holder that fits in the center Amazon Link
I was missing mine when I bought it and just thought it was a badly designed cup holder.
It was a success and a failure. Lol! I ordered them off of Amazon because I get cash back on my Amazon card and I love a good deal. I ordered exactly what I was supposed to based on what customer service told me to on Mickey Thompson's website. When all of those big boxes arrived I was so excited for him to be so excited! We opened them and right away I noticed that they were the wrong ones. I don't know exactly what it is called, but the LC has 6 screws coming out for the wheels to be bolted to but these had 8. I've contacted Amazon multiple times but they are still listed wrong.
Here's the link if you're so inclined. I ordered the 16x10's, 6 holes x 5.5. When I select that I get the 8 holes x 6.5". Luckily they returned them for free. I might just end up buying them elsewhere. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C6EC5U6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3CM4NUYDVGV5D&psc=1

Not a land cruiser owner, just an admirer. But I think I have your answer. To be clear I don’t make this recommendation lightly, generally I try to avoid the Bezos route but Amazon.com might have your answer and be the best bang for your buck.
Amazon search for the first two: ^ should get you the 95% solution
Third, metal clip: ^ Pretty sure I’m spot-on with that one
As for the bolts I don’t recommend Home Depot. I’ve been down that road, rarely do they carry automotive anything. I strongly recommend coughing of the dough and going to Auto Zone (our your local, overpriced auto parts store) They are regularly out of some of the bolts I need, but if i spend enough time driving around town i can usually piece together the sum-total of what I need from all of them.
