Configuration with the 4500U, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD and a crappy 220 nit (1080p 14" IPS though) display goes for between $800-900 for reference. So $300 premium for the 4700U, 512GB SSD, and better display.

For me at this price range I prefer the HP Envy x360 15" with 1TB SSD and Ryzen 4700U and 8GB upgradeable RAM at Costco. Upgrade the RAM for about 100ish and they end up being about the same price. So for the same price the HP Envy has better pen support, better Costco warranty, build quality, and storage. Will be slightly less portable due to the 15" vs 14" form factor.
This is $100 over your budget:
This one is within your budget but the previous one has a superior CPU, RAM and hard drive for only $100:
It's in stock right now for $778.06 currently on Amazon.
Is this better than this: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B09YMK5LPZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I ordered this yesterday - hoping to do some light photo editing, browse, light excel and word use, small amount of coding
There's currently an instance of what seems to be a pricing error that goes even lower: price shows as 530$ from "Deal Targets".

My current order at "original" price is preparing for shipment so I'm not trying my luck with it, but I can't possibly imagine they'll honour that price.
I ve come to understand that I basically want all the specs of the acer swift 3 but with more RAM (or expandable RAM).
Doors such a thing exist? How much more will that cost me?
Thanks for the recommendation,Asus VivoBook S 14X, its the same price but without a GPU and better display, and better CPU. Would this be a better buy for my use case since I won't be gaming?
How does this compare to ASUS ROG Strix G15 300Hz IPS Type FHD Display, Radeon RX 6800M, AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX
what are your thoughts on this, a little bit pricier but i realized that being able to fold it and use a pen/touchscreen would be insanely useful for taking notes. I also realized that i can do whatever i want with my money lol. but is this a good choice or is there a superior pick?

Can anyone check this? This product isn't either on Asus Canada or on Asus USA. I found a similar product in Asus Global but with a different model number and less SSD. I want to know if it is a good deal or not and if it is legit or not. It does say it is sold by Amazon CA. But this is the first time shopping for a laptop on Amazon. So, I wanna make sure

I have a main laptop that I usually park on my desk connected to multiple monitors, keyboard, mouse, and speakers. I want a less beefy secondary laptop that I can use on my bed, around the house, and most importantly plug into my tv (hdmi connection preffered) I'd love to watch content just lying on my bed, but currently that means I have to unplug my main laptop and replug everything, and move the powercord over to where the tv is.
I need something powerful enough to output 1080p 60fps video on a secondary display without lag. The laptop will probably be in its clamshell mode connected to a wireless keyboard+mouse most of the time. I'm looking at chromebooks right now and I was wondering if this would do the job; chromebook on sale
I was also thinking of going for the m1 macbook air, (just go ham on the budget) but I think I might just wait for next year's wave of macbooks because I have a perfectly functioning laptop at he moment. I was originally going to get a desktop pc and use my current laptop as the secondary media consumption device but the graphics card prices just stumped me. Or should I just buy a smart tv this black friday?
I'm open to any suggestions, thanks in advance.
For perspective, I was considering this as my floor: Floors
At the moment im looking at this laptop. Is there a better option?
By extending my budget a little bit, I could get the Zenbook 13 with OLED and i7 processor instead of i5, with double the ram (16 instead of 8) so maybe this is the better deal now:

I haven’t heard many complaints other than they being out of such very quickly. This would be perfect for you though: Acer Triton Gaming Laptop
I am torn between these two. Any smart lad here can help choose between the msi and this one https://www.amazon.ca/Lenovo-1920x1080-Processor-Windows-82B1000AUS/dp/B08BB9RWXD/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=lenovo+legion+5&qid=1617973973&sprefix=Leno&sr=8-2

I was considering these two:
I've seen the Vivobook recommended quite frequently, but would the Lenovo be any good? I love the price. I'm also open to any other suggestions!
Here is an RTX 2060 144hz laptop for under $1500, although I’ve heard the display isn’t the greatest for colour/ghosting. This also has 16GB of RAM.
from what I can see online, it's 8gb in single channel mode, is this the crucial one your referring too? https://www.amazon.ca/Crucial-PC4-25600-SODIMM-260-Pin-Memory/dp/B08C4Z69LN/ref=pd_sbs_1?pd_rd_w=LjmuW&pf_rd_p=3885b243-7797-4c4b-b0ae-97ca9ec36283&pf_rd_r=3RB9ACE704JAA6ZC1AY8&pd_rd_r=d60d98fe-267d-40ef-bf61-9ecbcdc22739&pd_rd_wg=...
hey there, I pulled the trigger on the ASUS G15, i was looking for ram to upgrade it from 8gb to 16gb so I can run it in dual channel, will any 3200mhz ddr4 sodimm work for this or do I need to be particular with what brand I get? this was the one in particular I was wondering if was compatible https://www.amazon.ca/Patriot-Signature-3200MHz-SODIMM-Single/dp/B087WTPD58/ref=sr_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=sodimm+ddr4+3200&qid=1609237704&s=electronics&sr=1-11
I also have a link to this one, which is 400$ cheaper but only difference is AMD processor and older version of graphics card, what do you think? I want to stream the games on twitch, do you think both laptops could handle? or would getting the 2060 just be an overall future proof better purchase? because im worried this one might not last or might slow down in the future, I keep my laptops in good conditioning throughout their lifespan

Thought's on this one vs the 6pm deal? There are a couple warehouse deal units for $1,253 ($1,404 shipped). I copped one of these the other day but am second guessing now.
The 6pm one will be $1,463 ($1,420 + $213 tax - $170 Rakuten). Seems everything is the same except bigger screen and a SSD/HDD combo instead of strictly SSD.

◽️ Any other important details ?: For photo editing I do care about the screen quality and colours. I'll give up my prior requirement of USB C charging now that I need this faster.

My old laptop died earlier than I thought and need a laptop urgently so can't wait for the T14AMD you recommended unfortunately. Looking for something "in stock".
If you don't mind me asking bothering you more, I found an "Amazon renewed" nitro 5 featuring a i5 9300h and a GTX 1050 8gb. On notebookcheck the benchmarks state that this chip beats the ryzen on single threading and multi threading. Wouldn't this model be superior to the ryzen 5 2500U/RX 560X?
Also, are refurbished laptops trustworthy? I've had a bad experience with one before, and I don't know if that was just bad luck. This has a 90 day warranty which feels short to me.
MSI Bravo 15 vs Legion 5 (AMD)?
Legion 5 is not on sale but still thinking which one is better at its price.
Legion 5 is 4800H/16GB/1660Ti

A tad more than I was looking to spend, budget was 800-1000 max. Any second opinions on this deal?
these two caught my eyes the most
Acer Swift 3 Ryzen 7
14'' FHD IPS, Ryzen 7 4700U, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Windows 10, Silver, SF314-42-R9YN
- the only thing I don't like is the display (which I have heard is a bit on the dim side)
Asus Zenbook 15
15 Laptop, 15.6” UHD 4K NanoEdge Display, Intel Core i7-10510U, GeForce GTX 1650, 16GB, 512GB PCIe SSD, ScreenPad 2.0, Amazon Alexa Compatible, Windows 10, Icicle Silver, UX534FTC-AS77
- this seems like a good deal overall, although I find the touchpad screen feature kind of useless
Do think this
+ a 2.5 inch SATA HDD is a good deal?

It will definitely come back into stock eventually. The alternative would be the Acer Predator Helios 300 but it is lot more expensive.
Hi, thanks for replying! I'm thinking of buying it. Also, if I plan to upgrade it's storage with an m.2 nvme ssd, would this be okay? I'm all ears for suggestions
Should i go in on this? Or wait for black friday, cyber Monday , and hope that this helios drops from 1700 to 1400 aswell Or, some other similar laptop to drop to that range. I can wait a couple months BUT I dont want to wait and take the risk just to end up with the helios not dropping that low and this legion go back up
◽️ Budget: 800-1000
◽️ Country: Canada

◽️ Touch screen: would be cool to have a 2 and 1
◽️ Screen resolution: 1080p
◽️ Does battery life matter ?: yes
◽️ What tasks will the laptop be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modelling, regular computing tasks, word processing etc) ?: word processing, note-taking (want a stylus as well), light gaming, use of statistics programs

◽️ Any other important details ?: I saw that the Lenovo Flex 5 was recommended previously however I found a ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 with a seemingly better Ryzen 7 4700U processor for less. Do you think this device is worth it or do you have any other recommendations? Thanks :)
Hi, I don't know much about RAM so I was wondering if 2 of these would fit.
That Acer Nitro 5 is still available, actually.
I think that for their GPUs, both of them are the best values for the price.
You can find them here on Amazon https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08BB9RWXD
They seem to go in and out of stock. I was able to purchase one on the 25th, and it's supposedly supposed to arrive Wednesday.
Hi, I definitely think that the HP Envy x360 13. It is actually available on Amazon currently. I can confirm that the HP Pen works on this laptop.
It's weird, amazon have the same laptop under another page for $1,899 (regular price), I could not find if there is any difference.
I found this model on amazon yesterday : https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B087N7FYSK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_vi27Eb3F7PW1Z
The specs looks really good with 16gb/1tb SSD and theres even an option for 32gb ram for only about a 100$ more then the 16gb model. I wonder if this is legit cause the price is pretty decent for the available specs
What do you think ?
Hi, since durability is the most important thing, I think that you should be looking at business grade laptops. I think that you can go for either the Lenovo ThinkPad P53 or Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme. You can either find it on Amazon or customize them on Lenovo's site.
The ASUS ROG Zephyrus GA502DU is a great choice then. It is also available on Amazon.
It's possible, but I don't think it can beat that Nitro 5's value. The ASUS TUF FX505DT is a solid alternative under $1,000, you get a stronger graphics card: the GTX 1650.
This Asus VivoBook would also be able to do the job , but I prefer the MSI's build quality and design. Nevertheless, the Asus is a good pick at a lower cost.
In that budget , I would get this HP 6QX52UA#ABA Omen 17-cb0040nr with the 2070 graphics card , 144hz 17 IPS display , new 9th gen i7 6 core processor... In addition, it has a decent heat management system and very solid build.
That's US dollars , right? At $1199, you could get it for $100 less **here
