Holy carp. I had no idea the delta was so great. 24 percent or 15 - 25 percent say the first two search results I looked at. Thx.
This might help. My Thinkpad is old and doesn't have the communication keys new laptops have, so I haven't tested your use case myself, but I remember seeing those as possible options in the list of keys you can remap.
Unrelated question: what display scaling do you use with the Nano? I'm thinking about getting one, but worried that 200% might make everything too big (since the resolution is smaller than 4K), while 100% might make everything too small for comfort.
sorry, I do not know what that could be. Possible stuff to look at: are you using libinput or the synaptics driver? If libinput, I read about a version that was causing problems (I do not remember the details, developpement seems quite active, might be worth checking your version and its know problems). If libinput, "sudo libinput debug-events" will show you the data from the trackpad, not sure what is good or bad. Hopefully someone else has a better idea.
Other touchpad related stuff I read: configuration of the sensibility with libinput: https://wayland.freedesktop.org/libinput/doc/1.7.3/touchpad_pressure.html For info, my hwdb config file contains:
libinput:name:SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad:dmi:*svnLENOVO:pvrThinkPadX240* LIBINPUT_ATTR_PRESSURE_RANGE=45:40 LIBINPUT_ATTR_PALM_PRESSURE_THRESHOLD=120 ID_INPUT_WIDTH_MM=87 ID_INPUT_HEIGHT_MM=67 LIBINPUT_ATTR_SIZE_HINT=87x67

This program manually controls the fan speed though it may not cure the underlying problem, causing overheating.
Look at which programs are resource hogs and kill ones you don't need. Also make sure your ACPI settings are configured properly.
See if blowing compressed air into the cooling vent and intake ports help. Dust can adhere to the fan components like some alien goo. I use this on my machines: https://www.amazon.com/Falcon-Compressed-Disposable-Cleaning-DPSJB/dp/B0000AE67M/ref=sr_1_3_mod_primary_sns?keywords=compressed+air+duster&qid=1667564165&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1LjYxIiwicXNhIjoiNC45NSIsInFzcCI6IjQuNjIifQ%3D%3D&sbo=GLaw0Fx56FiNH%2FiZ%2B6XKiQ%3D%3D&sprefix=compressed+%2Caps%2C151&sr=8-3
i did sudo apt install pcmanfm-qt, its in the repository. theres a more up to date version on launchpad. https://launchpad.net/~lxqt/+archive/ubuntu/ppa . I couldn't find a direct Deb link unfortunately.
Ouch! I didn't realize a secondhand X250 would be so expensive in Australia!! How much does a secondhand T450 go for over there?
An X250 in the UK (on Gumtree) can be purchased for £150 sometimes (I bought one a while back for £150). I just had a quick look, there's one in there at the moment, with a touchscreen, for £170.
I prefer the X250 (or a T450) to the T420/430 because they generally have better battery life, are generally in better condition, can be upgraded to full-HD IPS panels very cheaply and easily, and are more portable.
From what I understand (and I could be wrong) - you need a special adapter to upgrade to full-HD panels on some of the older ThinkPads (like the T420/430).
Having said that, I'm seriously considering buying a T420 just for the keyboard (and to try and get an eGPU working with it).
I guess it's a matter of personal preference. I didn't realize they were so expensive in Australia - that's just crazy.
