I use it with a regular USB-C cable and 18W brick. Bonus, it works fine with both my Galaxy S20 and iPhone 11, since it’s just a standard Qi charger (and my S20 says “fast wireless charging” when used with a proper cable and 18W brick, all while charging my watch). I cannot vouch for the MagSafe functionality directly, but some reviews say it works fine.

The following is the attachment I bought that transforms a regular Popsocket to be MagSafe capable. I am currently using it without a case on and it is very strong. With one it becomes stronger, especially on the apple leather case. I caught it on a flash sale somewhat recently for about $11 plus about $10 for a Popsocket so a total of around $21 for this combo. I’d recommend trying it out and returning if you don’t like it.

Edit: for reference I have the 12 Pro Max and it is still strong enough to hold it in place. So if you have one of the smaller lighter 12s it’ll probably be even better for holding your phone

I used a "dumb" stand for a while, but recently switched to the Belkin 3-in-1 pad with a discount, so I can give you both perspectives.
The "dumb" stands are more flexible, but not much cheaper as you think comparing to those official 3-in-1's. I used to use a dumb stand because for a very long time there were no official fast charging stand for apple watch and I already have the fast charging cable that comes with the watch and I have a magsafe charger at home already. Everything is great about that stand, but it's not weighted, so it shifts around. They do have some adhesive at the bottom, but I really don't want to stick anything to my nightstand, so it may not be an issue if you are okay with it. It only have 2 charging spots though, so I use the phone magsafe charger side to charge my airpods 3rd generation.
Then this thanksgiving comes and got a discount on the Belkin 3-in-1 pad with some amex amazon offer. The Belkin one is very solid and heavy, so it never shift around. Build quality is good and love the dedicated airpod slot (even though I prefer it to be magsafe as well, so it works). It supports fast charger for both magsafe side and apple watch side.
The Magsafe charger is $40, apple watch charger is $30, a dual usb-c charger is around $30-40, those stands are usually at least $20. So my custom setup would have been something around $120 (possibly slightly lower if you get discounts) anyways if I don't have most of the chargers lying around at home. If you already have all those chargers and adapters, getting a 3D printed stand seems like a very economical solution. However if you have to get those chargers separately, the cost difference is still there, but not as much of a gap.

I haven’t done extensive testing on them or anything but they charge the phone and don’t seem to lose connection. I had thought of getting the Lisen stand but I really love my MagSafe adjustable stand so I’ve just been pulling the snap 3 off
The only problem that I have is the white finish on the rings do wear off exposing the look of the magnets. The magnets themselves are embedded inside of the case.

Actually bought this week and works fine for that purpose. I haven’t connected a MagSafe charger but it’s possible to do it.
In the end I went for this as the magnets seemed to work well, not sure if it was because the top of the wallet sit right up against the camera bump on the 14 Pro but I ended up cutting away the inner card divider because that made any card that I put in the outer section , slightly bend.
Now that the card sits flush, I then put some spare cards behind my work ID and it was able to get enough clearance from the rear of the wallet to work for the internal doors of the building.

So far I like it. Carries ~13 cards and seems the magsafe connection is adequate. It seems, though, that the wallet affixed to the case rather than to the phone's magsafe spot.
Per the Manufacturer one can separate the wallet from the phone and charge via the case and magsafe. I don't charge with MagSafe, so haven't tested it.
Downside, the wallet is only available for the iPhone 12 series. Manufacturer says it will not work with the case the Manufacturer makes for newer iPhone models.
I may look at other slim wallets by dango, trayvax, akeeni and see if I can diy a magsafe fitting.
The dango adapt wallet has an add-on magsafe strap that intrigues me. And akeeni has a similar mechanism, but I think it's a latch -and -slide deal rather than magsafe.

I have this one for my works van holding 14 PM no problems even over rough terrain. I have fixed the surface mount with 2 small screws for added security.
I’ve been using this for about 6 months. It holds perfectly but can still get the phone off when you’re getting out the car with one hand. Has the bonus of charging (wired mine into the fuse box)
iPhone XS max is a few generations before magsafe is even a thing. Given that XS is showing its age now, I doubt phone case manufacturers are really putting effort to design new cases for the phone. Your best bet is to find a regular case that you like and add aftermarket magnets to it, something like the one below.

I had a 13 pro and an older version of Moft wallet before I switch to the apple version. I also have the same issue with the camera bump. Later find out that Moft released newer version in different colors that will fit better for 13 pro (and I guess 14 pro as well).

I always lose mine too. I want one where the wallet flips up (not out to the side) and there’s access MagSafe magnets . Unfortunately all the ones similar just put more credit card holders there instead.

In my experience, these sticker magnets stuck onto something (like an older Qi charger) tend to pull together a bit over time from the magnetic force and/or attaching and detaching. Once you get it in place on your device, I suggest securing the magnets with superglue, Bondic, etc. so they retain their position without relying on the little strip of adhesive on them.

I personally made my own Magsafe Popsocket using a normal adhesive Popsocket and one of these Magsafe plates (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08QZFTWYR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I've never had any issues with this setup, and I also used this plate to make one of my old car mounts that required sticking a small magnet sticker onto my phone into a Magsafe mount.
It seems like it takes up a lot of space for a travel oriented charger.
Even though it charges one less device at the same time I think the MagSafe Duo is the way to go just for how compact it is. With two Lightning cables, two USB-C cables, two MagSafe Duos, and this tiny little 40w charger we can charge everything we travel with, including our MacBooks.
For AirPods I find that 20 minutes on the wireless charger once a day or so is plenty for most casual listening habits.
I had it for a couple weeks, tested it alongside Ankers 622 and 633 batteries, ultimately went with the Anker 622.
The Apple Battery is only available in white, and has no kickstand. It appears in the battery widget and has a nice animation on screen when you attach it, but ultimately the lack of a kickstand and it’s weight dissatisfied me.
The Anker 633 is HUGE. Heavy, and a strong fold out kickstand, with 10,000 mAH.
The one I ultimately went with, the Anker 622 is small and compact, as well as light, and has an elegant folding kickstand that works for your phone in landscape and portrait mode. It’s by far the most comfortable of the three to have in your pocket, and is available in multiple colors.
The Anker 633 is better if you want to charge multiple devices at once, the Apple Battery is better if you want to know exactly how much charge your battery has left, and the Anker 622 is best if you’re looking for a slim form factor.
I tried the Apple one, elegant, small, fits my 13 mini. But like others I don’t need it frequently, and $100 seems too much for my use. When the phone battery is low, the phone gets pretty warm while charging—I measured 112 degrees. Apple’s went up to about 104 degrees. It doesn’t get very hot if applied when the phone has a greater charge. I think the heat, which is not that much more than the Apple version, is ok for occasional use. Also the one I’m using has a USB C port and offers power delivery via that port at a pretty high rate (haven’t tried that).

The website domain was created in Sept 2020, all the reviews of their products appear to be paid reviews by small channels and many of them give off disingenuine vibes in the videos. All of their products on the website are on sale which is another red flag to me. I don't think its a full on scam but there is definitely a reason why the belkin 3 in 1 stand is 150$ and this one is just 50$...

Spigen makes one that you add your own Magsafe adapter and plug into the 12V via USB-C charger.
Try this pair of wallet and case. Some of my other pairs either don’t have the grip or the magnet strength isn’t strong enough. This combo has both. I’ve never had any issues with it coming off unless I pull it off.

I have the 5000 version and it seems to do about one full charge of the phone. It gets very warm so I try not to use it unnecessarily. Using a cable to charge will be more efficient and cooler but the magsafe part makes a great contingency. IMO if you need a battery daily, consider a battery case instead. Probably better for your battery longevity.

$35.99, 3.9/5 stars. 2500mAh as stated. So it'll fully charge a 13 Pro and will charge a 13 Pro Max most of the way (I don't know what the mAh rating is of the 13 Pro Max battery). Either way, you're not slapping this on at zero, you're probably slapping it on at 20-30%, so in that case it probably will fully charge a Pro Max.
At $36 it's a bit high. Earlier this year, I got a 10,500mAh power bank for $26, no MagSafe, but it can charge two devices at once, at 22.5W (5W on OP's). My wife and I use it on trips, so we can charge both of ours (my 13 Pro Max, her Galaxy S10) off the same device. Generally she'll hand over her phone, and I'll put both, and the charger, in one of my pockets and we'll just let it do its thing until one of us needs the phone.
I bought a pack of these on Amazon, and trimmed the little tail off. Make sure to test which side is the right side to stick to your phone. Both sides have adhesive, so you’ll need to remove it from the phone-facing end, but it peels off fairly easily (don’t try to scrub with alcohol).
Just another suggestion - I'm a big fan of Anhong bumper cases. They protect the phone, are very grippy (but not too grippy), and doesn't compromise the MagSafe grip. And they are cheap.

I'm using this cheap Chinese thing from Amazon. It isn't great. The band is too tight, so it's hard to get my finger in there. It is very low-profile, though.
The best grip is Flygrip, but Flygrip is almost mutually exclusive from MagSafe. They could make a MagSafe-compatible "surfboard" for the Flygrip to adhere to, but then it wouldn't be secure, and their website shows people skydiving with the Flygrip. So they don't want to support MagSafe (as it's not as strong as the 3M tape they use).
The Flygrip is $30, but so is the PopSocket, and the Flygrip is at least a hundred times better, since it's sturdier and can be used as a kickstand.
Maybe get a cheap TPU case (without MagSafe) and stick a Flygrip on that. Take the phone out of the case for MagSafe stuff (or any wireless charging. Maybe, just maybe on a Pro Max iPhone, could you have a Flygrip and a MagSafe charger on at the same time and it could work... maybe.

You attach a pop socket or something like that to the plate, then the plate attaches magnetically to the phone but can be removed as needed to use a mount or the like. It’s quite secure. They have a smaller round plate too if you prefer that to the larger one I linked. The large one is very secure, I don’t have any experience with the smaller model

Is the case you added "MagSafe" compatible? In my experience, if the case does not have it's own magnets (which I believe is what defines "MagSafe Compatible), pretty much any thickness will decrease the magnetic attraction force significantly enough to cause problems.

My advice is check if one of the vent ones has a ball mount, if so, you can mount it to majority of other car mounts, i.e. ones that attach to a surface.
Forgot which stand part I used but again majority of them use the same ball mount. Works great with my Z Fold 3 W/magsafe add-on!

I'm not a fan of the vent ones so I went with the Spigen OneTap. They have a Spigen OneTap pro version that does charging but I have a regular cable to plug in if needed. This one can be mounted to dash or windshield, I have it on the windshield with no issues.

I use this magnetic mount from Amazon with both a MagSafe case and an ultrathin non-MagSafe case. The package includes an adhesive magnetic ring to slap onto thicker non-MagSafe cases, but I don't have a need to use that.

Keep in mind they are sticky on both sides so you will want something smooth on the side that touches the iPhone.
You don't have an automation set up that controls a smart plug that turns off once the iPhone hits 100%? (I did ask that before but you didn't answer). That is the only explanation I have as to why it just stops charging because technically it shouldn't. Not saying this is bad. Quite the opposite.
But the issue lies elsewhere and the issue is that your iPhone seems to be constantly busy doing something in the background. As visualized by the light blue bars that are always present. I suspect either a bug with NordVPN or FB messenger that is continuously running in the background and draining your battery.
I suggest going for a magnetic adapter rather than a metallic one, because MagSafe works best when there is a strong attraction, which is achieved only with 2 magnets. Especially if you want to hook your phone to something, magnets are a must. Also you should know that a full metallic plate, like your option 2, won't work with MagSafe wireless charging, because there is metal between the two coils. There are specific MagSafe metallic adapter which are ring-shaped though. Another thing is that sadly you can't put them under the cover. The magnets's strength isn't enough for this to work, trust me because I've tried it. The one from Anker seems good, but if you don't like the idea of a ring on the back of your cover, you might try something like this. If you opt for a ring, make sure the design wraps around the magnets and makes them inaccessible, because I have a Mophie Snap Adapter, which only covers the front of the ring, and the magnets started moving and misalign.
Sadly, there is almost no way to get MagSafe on Android without having the extra bulk of the adapter outside the cover, unless you have one of the few models Moment makes cases for (S21 Ultra and Pixel 6 / 6 Pro only if I remember correctly). But if you like MagSafe, then it's worth in my opinion.

Other than Belkin, Apple has not opened up the ability for any 3rd party to charge at the full 15w via magsafe (car or home).
They may eventually like they did with 3rd party USB-C cables and PD charging, but for that first year or so, it was only Apple OEM cables.
So your only option is to get a car mount that is basically a shell to hold the official magsafe charger, along with a car plug that can support the 9V @ 2.22amp charging profile, or else you won't get the full 15W charging either. Don't think there are too many out there that support that profile (yet).
