you don't have to, but the fact that you're even making this post means you're impatient. so just minox in the morning and at night, and every third day skip minox at night and dermaroll instead. it will expedite things.
everything i've read says using needs smaller than .5 mm is pointless(lol) and so i got this .5mm

maybe someone has a better suggestion for one, but this one works fine for me.
I chose not to dermaroll out of laziness haha. I bought one early on but never used it and have been satisfied with my results.
If you're planning on getting one - make sure you get one with "real" needles. I have read some discussion on here about how some come with "fake" dull needles that don't actually pierce the skin. I ended up buying this one off of a recommendation on this subreddit.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NJQS9KZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
Also make sure you clean your face before and after - and sanitize the dermaroller with 70% alcohol by letting it soak for 10 minutes before your first use, then after using it every time.
I use a Amazon’s version of rogaine foam.

Patience & consistency.
As mentioned shave until you have consistent stubble. I shave my face/head almost every day. Shaving is essentially exfoliating and gets the minox right up against freshly exposed hair.
The only days I don’t shave is the day after derma rolling to give my skin a break.
You can get lclt to mix in, I *just*got this one so can’t comment if it does anything for me. But took ~2 months of 2x/day minox to start seeing new little hairs pop up.
Also take care of your skin. I use cetaphil gentle cleanser before each minox, their moisturizing lotion in the morning (2-3 hours after minox) and and their cream at night (2 hours after). All of this is on sale at Costco right now fwiw and if you don’t take care of your skin it’ll dry out you won’t be a happy camper. You don’t need cream and can just use lotion, but make sure it’s quality. Cetaphil, Aveeno and Cevave are good mid range ones.
Other than that make sure you eat right and have a balanced diet so your body has everything it needs to grow.
That looks like one with 540 needles, I would look for something with less. Try this. Koi Beauty Microneedling Derma Roller Microneedle Roller Instrument Real Titanium Micro Needles https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NJR6Y35/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabt1_ZWOSFb6NZ1X7H

And then in theory I can add it to any face lotion I use right.
Some people put it in either their Nivea Soft cream or liquid Minoxidil.
That's just a low-price one from Amazon. It does what it's meant for! https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06WD843ZM/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_x_oTiFFbQB5A6R0
This is the one I bought from Amazon. You can buy in either powder or tablet/capsule form; however I prefer powder as I can just dissolve a scoop in water. When buying collagen make sure it contains Type I and Type III which are the ones that are known to support nail and hair growth.
I posted something on here awhile back about a 3pk of serums on Amazon I got that have completely changed my skin. Honestly looks better than before I used Minox. Plus the 3pk is only $20 which is a damn steal in this day and age. It contains Retinol Serum, Hyaluronic Acid, and Vitamin C Serum. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014PGEEO2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_P5MgEbRXT7SNS
You can try applying NoGrow in these areas. Takes similar time as minox to really take effect and works differently for different people (same as minox) but might be worth a shot.

I wish I could say I have more time and results with this product, but it’s only been about a month. If you do your research you’ll see all the benefits of using something like this. Disposable needles, consistent and adjustable needle depth, less damage due to up and down needling as opposed to rolling. They’re great.
Got mine off Amazon. Make sure you get one that’s 100% L carnitine tartrate powder. I’d get the nutricost brand. alcohol free minoxidil it is propylene glycol based so be aware if you’re allergic. If not you should have no issues.
DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!! This product contains a lot of chemicals with a small amount of natural ingredients. I used this product for around a month and chunks of hair dropped out of my beard. Smells just like Gillette shaving gel and it irritated my skin badly!
Use a more natural oil or create your own using organic oils such as castor, argan, almond etc.. here’s a link for the beard oil I’m currently using and it’s the best I’ve used so far! :-

Take care bro! (ps - I’m talking from personal experience only!)
I've personally been using the Tillman Microneedling Pen and since I started, my gains exploded in comparison to the roller. It's much better, and much easier to target a specific spot on your face. I stick with the 36 pin extension with the 2mm setting on a speed of 6. You have to move along your face slowly, but you don't have to go over the spot multiple times unless you want to, unlike with the roller. I can't stand by this specific one you chose, but all dermapens are more or less the same I assume.
I've been dermarolling once every 5 Days Dermapen set to 2mm and applying Regoxidine 5% once every 12 hours. My hair started shedding about 2 weeks ago, but I know this is only temporary as there is no MPB in my family until we reach our 80s. I've also been taking collagen and vitamin c supplements, aswell as applying a vitamin C serum to my face 4 hours after applying the minoxidil as an attempt to combat the dryness. My eyes are beginning to look more baggy all the time, but it's not a big deal as I am aware that it's only temporary and will get better when I stop taking it.
I'm beginning to see more coverage on my face, and on my body aswell which is cool. I'm gearing in for 2 years boys! I'm tryna get that dummy thicc beard, or atleast a grandmaster goatee.
So far, the only readily noticeable difference is my goatee has gotten thicker, and the strip from my bottom lip down to my chin is starting to develop a lot more.
Ps: I apologize for the current photos, I probably should've waited for the sun to come out more, but I got a little too excited. Had to repost due to original post using the wrong comparison pictures

Get generic or Kirkland brand foam on Amazon. 6 month supply of Kirkland Foam is about $70. ~37% cheaper (assuming you double the price of the rogaine foam for double the amount). You might be able to find it even cheaper with other brands. My first 3 month supply of generic Walgreens foam felt about the same as the Kirkland brand.

This is the one I use and has been recommended on here before. What you're looking for is at least a 0.5mm length, and 192 REAL needles. Some of them are just wheels with needles at the very tip, like little saw blades.
Ha! Thanks man! I usually use the liquid but I have used foam at times. I can't tell any difference in results from either or.
Here is the link for the dermaroller.....
are there any guys who tried this and still got gains? or maybe some who say they didnt get any gains or lost gains when trying this? i tried to search in comments but didnt find much.. let me know :p ill try too then.
also the adviced moisturizer isnt available in my country (germany) is this one fine too? (currenty using nivea soft)
this is the exact one I have, the koi. however i’m pretty sure i over paid and any of the other 1.5mm rollers would work, but I have to say this one hasn’t broke or anything for 2 yrs so it is solid

and as for the side effects read the FAQ, and if ur skin reacts badly to the minox try only once a day to reduce side effects. If u get dry skin then use moisturizer
I also wouldn't recommend a razor. I trim with the Philips Norelco. Its not that expensive and its excellent quality. Had mine for some 4-6 months.

Fake minoxidil on amazon BE CAREFUL
When I first started minoxidil from my local store it worked wonders for me. Since I have discovered that I can buy it way cheaper on amazon I decided to buy it there and everything went downhill from here..took me almost 5months to realise I was using the fake minoxidil (you can check the 1star reviews people say exactly the same). There is a lot of good reviews to but I think it depends from which supplier you get the minoxidil sent I guess.fake minoxidil link

Also .05% tretinoin cream might help too

I came upon your last post about "stop waiting 4 hours this is why you have dry skin" post a few weeks ago and started applying the routine.
Old routine: minox 1-2x a day then apply cerave moisturizing cream or Jergens lotion. I use a combo of the liquid and the foam. For the past month my skin was discolored in some areas, flaky and looking dead. All dehydrated.
New routine: apply minox, wait 15-20 mins after applying foam and apply only cerave moisturizing cream, no more Jergens, was pulling out my beard hairs and was too thick to rub in. If its liquid I wait 40-60 mins before applying the moisturizer. Been following this routine for a week and my skin is rejuvenated and I'm seeing healthier growth of vellus hairs in areas that were dead and the dehydrated skin zones.
This routine am I on the right track?
Apply minox wait 15-20 mins (for foam) or 40-60 (liquid) apply moisturizer?
I also derma roll 1-2x a week. I'll dermaroll. Apply minoxidil right after and then wait 15-20 mins or 40-60 mins and apply moisturizer.
This is the moisturizer I use.

This topic comes up every few days or weeks, you can find several threads when you search for it on this sub. When I called your derma roller "fake" I was wrong tho, shouldn't have said that. It's still legit of course. But pretty much everyone can tell you it really makes a big difference, you can feel it immediately.
Getting a dermapen would be the next step and probably the best thing to do if you wanna invest that money. Thought about that already too.
Great, then it seems like you got everything you need! None of my moisturizers have any acids in them - other products are just enough so that's all good too! It's great that you checked out the video because I started and got bored 2 minutes in lmao, that's a long ass video to watch about minox when you've already seen every possible vid about it haha. I think it's perfectly fine then because it's for topical use and usually substances that go into your body get processed much differently than if you apply them directly on your skin! That's the reason biotin and keratin shampoos are nothing more than just a marketing trick - you need to injest them (i mean biotin and keratin, not shampoos lol) to get any effects! For the pencil i think the format I'm using is an Eastern European thing since I don't see the exact ones available anywhere outside but that's the closest one to what I use that I found and I think it's the same stuff, just in liquid form. Might not last forever tho, because we got solid ones here and they really are just bottomless it seems, but still, these things usually are pretty concentrated and I think this one is no different so it should work just as fine and it might be worth a try! Should have checked if it's an internationally available thing before recommending!

im from finland and ordered from https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007Z75H0Y?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details on monday, received my package yesterday... fast as hell.
I have been loving using an essential oils roller bottle. Roll as much on as you want, no need to touch it with fingers. Used to just rub it in my face after applying with the dropper but ever since I heard someone mention using a roller bottle I've been hooked. I tried going back to the old wipe method and it's just annoying.

I use a Neutrogena water gel and it works really well. It has entirely fixed my dry skin and itchiness on minox and feels amazing.

Works wonders.
No problem here it is. Mind you I only paid $44-ish dollars so it looks like the marked it up a little nonetheless here's the link. https://www.amazon.com/Kirkland-Minoxidil-Strength-Solution-Regrowth/dp/B00KMV7KUU Not bad for a 6 month supply 🤷♂️
Seem that you are desperate. Just as I was. I got a bottle of th this after a month on minoxidil and It really made a difference. However, Idk if I should attribute to the serioxyl.
Brand doesn’t matter this is the one I purchased .

What kind of derma-roller? Something like this?
I use Wild willies growth serum and yes I absolutely seen that my beard got thicker(grows faster and longer too)! I have seen some new growth as well..but not that much. I ordered the derma roller and will start as soon as it gets here. I'll let you know how it goes in a few weeks..go look it up on YouTube people say it works good!!
There was a guy on the minoxbeard spot facebook group that went through a similar situation where he was using minox for a while then suddenly started reacting to it. he stopped for a while for his face to heal, then started using spectral.brd (i believe) it is Nanoxidil (not minoxidil) He used that and reported growth returning and no skin reaction. Maybe something to look into? Its not cheap though from what I remember.

This is the one is recently bought. I heard 0.5mm 192 needles is the recommended size for minoxidil beards, and this is the best one I found on Amazon. It has real 192 needles, while the others on AMazon supposedly use discs that don't work as well and dont penetrate deep enough. its pretty high quality and works well.
With pleasure, my friend. Here it is.
Amazon. This is the link to the 0.5mm, 192-needle one I'm using here in the US. Hope they sell it in Canada too.

Please note that I blindly choose them based on reviews & prices, I admittedly didn't do much research and read beard-specific reviews, so you may wanna take them (the brands) with a grain of salt :)
I honestly use the one on Amazon here is the link https://www.amazon.com/Bulksupplements-L-Carnitine-L-Tartrate-Powder-grams/dp/B01476IJXC/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=lclt&qid=1606813061&sr=8-12
