Something that helps me to motivate:
Bought a cheap 30-minute hourglass off Amazon. If I'm having a hard time getting motivated to do a task, I'll flip the hourglass and commit for that 30 minutes. Once 30 minutes is up I can stop. More often than not I'm amazed at what can be accomplished in just a half hour and that usually motivates me to keep going. Good luck dude. You got this!
Bud, your gaming setup looks like it cost thousands of dollars. Buy a vacuum. You don’t need an expensive one, a cheap one will do a fine enough job.

360 wired and still works like a champ. Play it with Clone Hero sometimes. That's wild that ol' hunk of plastic is worth money.
In addition to this I use a hideaway litter box. It looks like a bench and has a entrance way with some space before the litter box.
Litter still gets out but is very minimal and the rubber mat catches most of it.
It’s something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071SBV4NP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_6y4eDbSMWDWH3
That is really awesome progress. Love how neat the desk area is, plus of course all the garbage cleared out.
Two relatively cheap suggestions for the next step:
1) Decluttering paper can be hard because it's hard to know what to get rid of, especially if you're in school or at a job with a lot of potential reference material. This $11 file organizer is lightweight and easy to label, so you'll be able to find a home for a lot of different kinds of stuff in there
2) Decluttering "stuff" is also hard because not everything has its own space and you want to be able to see things easily, so just putting it all into a single box doesn't really help. I've used this kind of boxes-on-wheeled-cart organizer ($27) as a way to at least find a general grouping of "stuff," and the boxes are shallow and clear enough that it doesn't take much effort to look through everything when I need to find a specific item. Plus the wheels make the home of the cart itself flexible, too!
Just some ideas. Good luck!
Fixing cords is such a daunting task. Once you get it done it is such a satisfying feeling! Taking a wet towel and gliding it down from tip-to-tip is as sensual feeling as it sounds. I used a cheap $12 kit to help keep my ridiculous amount of cords from tangling again. Worth it.
those are dog training pads they are used for house training a dog. they are made to be pissed on, the idea is you train the dog to pee on the pad, then you work on moving the pad towards the door and work on training them to go outside, eventually you take away the pad and all they have left is outside for peeing.
Bed in a box from Amazon. This is a full size for $250, I've had the queen size for just over 4 years and it's still going strong
Fuck me, next time people take the piss out of Jordan Peter's 12 Rules for Life as being elementary or obvious; just remember this post.
Not having a go OP - we've all been there. But self care is very important for your overall well-being.
I tell you what is a big help once you've actually got this shit tidied.
Every day, just have "Five Minute Tidy Up Time" - just a little reminder on your phone (I like an app called Habits to help keep track).
Tell yourself you'll just do 5 minutes a day - even choose a song you play, and just tidy up while that is on.
When it's done, you can return to whatever important business you were doing.
Presumably this has been like this for weeks or forever - so slowly doing a little bit each day over the next week or to may seem weak to some, but it will get done, and actually get that habit started.
And make sure you have a storage space for everything.
A couple of those plastic boxes with lids are always useful, especially for that fucking foam shite. (I see you have one already, get more).
You have empty shelves and books on the floor.
That can be your starting point.
Take the rubbish out.
Order them things off Amazon NOW. Fucking, don't tell yourself you'll get them cheaper next time you go tot he shops, just do it now.
I really didn't expect the ones I got to work as well as they did. Seriously give them a bash. I love not having to fuck with my sheets every night before bed
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071LF75D8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 20$ and great for so many random things.
They get messed up? cheap enough to buy more and in my experience they have been great!
Ooh, it could be gamified too. Maybe harness the power of gacha games and make it so you earn points from checking off your morning shower, brushing your teeth, etc. Let players use those points to roll for hygiene-themed anime girls or something, sorta like ARknights or Kancolle have gun/boat girls. Maybe have a premium currency for whales to help offset the overhead but don't set it up so that premium currency is a must for getting daily rolls. Like, have the everyday tasks add up to at least one roll so the player doesn't get discouraged from improving themselves.
Oh, you could have weekly "pay toward rent", "put in savings", "clean the house/apartment" etc and monthly "I paid my rent/insurance/[bill]!", "wash the car", "see a new sight" task that each gives you a free roll or half a roll's worth of points depending on the difficulty/importance of the task. You could even add in a weight loss/gain tracker that continually rewards you for tracking your weight based on the amount of change or something? ~~A separate game idea is a pedometer style app that has a cute anime girl running with you with similar rewards~~ This already exists
Honestly, I might actually get started on this. I'll just need to find a way to collect input from here to start a database of tasks and other ideas like terms (quests vs tasks etc.), difficulty ratings for each task (5 star scale or 3 star?), design suggestions (not branching tasks like OP but also not a boring checklist or 2013-era empty UI) etc.
I actually have a the same kind they use in hospitals and I use it at night. We are currently living in a two bedroom apartment and have two kids (im graduating college next month and we are moving into a house when I start working full time). Anyway our 6th month old sleeps in a bassinet in the living room and she wakes up if I get up to use the bathroom. So I got one of those medical bottles. Its been really handy. Kind of gross but I empty it every day. Soon our baby will have her own room and we will have our own bathroom connected to our bedroom so it won't be necessary.
That sort of situation is the only one I would consider necessary or the one you described. This one in the video is probably due to laziness and not trying to avoid waking a baby.
I would recommend getting something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081S9R2HL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_8eUUFbF5XMJBH?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
In that case i am 90% sure its this one. Its only $88 but that is just the frame no mattress.
Edit: If you just want a bedframe where you dont need a box spring and like the metal look i suggest the Zinus platforms from Amazon. It is less than a $100 for a queen size and its high enough you can easily store stuff under it. And if you ever decide you dont like the look a $20 bed skirt will hide the frame and make your bed look nice.
As many others have said there are solutions. This is what worked for me, I toss and turn, and have loose sheets because they're real linen with extra deep pockets so I needed something.
It does, but I totally wouldn't recommend the model I have. If I were buying another one, I'd go with this model personally.

The hat please stop fighting
Y’all I found the Kirby blanket
I'm not sure what your finances are like rn so I don't want to sound pushy but something like this might be a better option for you right now! My bf and I got something similar to keep our cat out of our bedroom during the night. It's not the sturdiest thing but is definitely better than a sheet taped to a wall
I bought this (currently unavailable but just grab a competitor brand). The center pocket was the insulated pocket but the zipper isn't insulated so it's not even remotely close to what a cooler box would do. I wouldn't put anything in there unless it was in tupperware or a can / box because the corners are crumb-catchers.
I used to do a backseat footwell trashbag but I started bringing a cooler instead and wedging that there. I moved the trashbag into the plastic crate upfront.
i got them on amazon. i think it was this one minus the flag
Be careful. The vape related injuries and deaths have been linked to THC/cannabis vape products.
And a quote from a different article: "The Post reported earlier this week that investigators at the Food and Drug Administration found the same vitamin E-derived oil in marijuana products vaped by multiple people sickened around the country. But officials cautioned that they could not yet pin the illnesses on it." This quote was from this article:
Adding to others' advice...
I recommend a book How to Keep House While You're Drowning: 31 days of compassionate help
If you have KindleUnlimited it's available for free right now. And if you have Alexa, you can get her to read to you.
In kindness, you can do it, OP. You can work your way out of this. You already know that you're capable of being organized. Baby steps.
I have 2 bluetooth speakers in my room but recently bought these to fall asleep while listening to ASMR.
They have this net plushie thing hangs on your wall !
They also have a bean bag !

We use plug-in ones like this since we have pets. There's all sorts of brands that have them. Don't have to worry about open flames, hot wax, or toxic oils with the name brands of the plug-in ones.
Looks like you have plenty of room for this . Adjustable height shelves, very sturdy and easy to assemble. Along with the foldable cubes you’d be all set. Also next time you’re in Walmart look for something with Oxi Clean in it for that coffee stain. Awesome job so far!
The LED grow lights with no plants really adds to this too: https://www.amazon.com/Relassy-Spectrum-Gooseneck-Replaceable-Professional/dp/B07C68N7PC/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=8BJJCUOGZC4Q&dchild=1&keywords=led+grow+lights+clip+on&qid=1634995352&sprefix=led+grow+lights+clip%2Caps%2C137&sr=8-5
hi, it's this off amazon! one side is blue the other is yellow. I'm in the UK, and I don't know what country you're from but I hope it's available wherever you are. my cat has taken a strong liking to it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072BBSYKB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_7Q4CB9Q7MFM52MVG0AK1
I use a cleaning gel as well. It's like a blob that you can mash into the keys and dust and other crap sticks to it.
This thing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GW9TJ3G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
if you need a really goated carpet cleaner that can get that carpet fuckin' sparkling I'd recommend this one.
it's cheap as shit and works like a charm, this thing turned my absolutely trashed carpets into nice clean fluffy clouds in just 20 mins.
Fireplace Lanterns,Decorative Lanterns,Flameless Led Lantern, Battery Operated and USB Operated, 6 Hour Timer Included,Portable Fireplace Lantern-Indoor/Outdoor,(Black Rectangle) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J4QVDN8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_MKo8FbC1KGS6P?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 dont know if you’d found it already but I believe this is it!
That's awesome.
Looks like your curtains are the same as the ones in my old place -- I'd order yourself some of these, if they're the right type: https://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Duty-Drapery-Pin-Hooks/dp/B004CS39UY
Also, re: carpet, be advised that you can rent a semi-pro carpet shampooer from pet store chains, I think when I last did it that it was $30/day. It's easy and cheap enough that I'd recommend it even if you're not sure what your plan for the carpet is.
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B083F6V8Z7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
bit pricey, but ive been enjoying it. only real issue i have is if you like to have your legs spread out like I do, the bucket seat is firm so your legs will rub against the sides. but overall I'd def recommend it for people trying to keep the back straight.
as a hydro homie I recommend investing in this it'll cut the mess down 75% and he can still be hydrated in hot or cold water
I would advise either getting a dresser or one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LYBQXRH/ref=twister_B07NXSDTQZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
(If you look hard enough some stores/sellers sell them in colors like teal or white but stainless steel or black are the most common colors.)
You can fold up the random blankets you have and stack them on either. The plush can be organized and put on a shelf or on top of the dresser. I don't advise keeping all/most of them on your bed as they will take up alot of space and will probably end up on the floor, looking messy.
I am a collector myself but sometimes its a really good idea to sell some things off, I don't agree with throwing away things that have nothing wrong with them but cutting back on the random trash bags and unused boxes would also make things look alot neater. Get rid of the plastic bottles. Perhaps invest in a storage container while you work on selling/going though things? The shelf I linked holds such items easily.
That’s a terrible way to take care of guitars. If they are something you value, please take better care of them.
I’m not without error myself so let me share some helpful advice.
Shelves. I don’t know why but I never prioritized shelves to store things in or on. It makes it easier to not have to stuff everything into your closet. If you have a family dollar store near you, you can find cheap furniture for roughly 20$. Trust me. You will feel better and it will be worth splurging a little if you can.
Guitar stand. You can use this Kuyal 5 Holder Guitar Stand,Multi-Guitar Display Rack Folding Stand Band Stage Bass Acoustic Guitar, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076DG3J6Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_lBqcEb4G2JAGC link to find a stand that will prevent your guitar necks from warping. Some can be expensive but I personally have something like this and at the price point of $30 it’s going to save me hundreds of dollars on repairs to fix warped necks on my guitar. It keeps them from being scratched and will ultimately get them out of the way while making them accessible to practice.
So build a shelf in the closet, protect your babies, and I feel like you won’t miss your room as it is anymore. Please remember I am not judging you. I’ve been in this situation and I understand. I just had to figure this out myself and didn’t have anyone to help me. I hope I can help you in some small way. Best of luck!
Dude, just get yourself one of those 'sodastream' things. Carb up your own water. You could add premade flavor or make your own. I boil down ginger root with stevia into a syrup and add that to carbed water.

Is there any chance you could get to some local thrift stores? You might be able to find a cheap bed frame. If you lift the bed up you could then use some storage containers or shorter boxes to store some of your stuff under the bed. Of course your cat will end up under the bed, too.
Some cheap cloth storage bins (also can be found at thrift stores) could fit on a few of the shelves and make things look a little more organized. They also fold flat and take up little space for when you move out. If you don't like looking at open grey metal shelving you could also get some cheap curtains or flat bed sheets to cover the front of the shelves.
Presumably there's a litter box in there, if you can find some sort of mat like this it will make your life easier. Originally, large mats like this were sold for businesses to use for collecting mud/gravel bits at their front doors. So you might be able to find them cheaper if they're not labeled for pet use.
get some of these for the guitars
also, you probably dont need all of those old computers. If it still has an ata ribbon on it, just toss it it's an antique. Also, you only need two keyboards: your nicest one and a ps/2 port keyboard incase your usb fails. The rest is junk and you will feel better getting rid of it. I personally keep a small box with leftover chips and hard drives i want to keep, but the old chassis aren't necessary. Also, getting a bigger trashcan might help with those water bottles
EDIT: also, treat yourself to some sheets and toss the extra chair. Once you get rid of some of the extra computer stuff, you will be able to roll it back and forth across the room. Also for that monitor, once you clear off some of the waterbottles, you can hook that monitor up to the laptop on your desk and have two monitors going
There are actually specially designed funnels to help women pee while standing, so if I ever decide to camp or the apocalypse comes, I'll be good to go.
The one I linked even comes in multiple colors!
