Got two of these. One for my bed and one for my recliner. I added a small throw pillow just under my foot at the end of it. But I liked them much better than just standard pillows folded up under my leg/foot!
I have a very different injury but will say I can relate to feeling like my weight bearing status and length of time was much longer (sometimes double) than anyone else I could find in a similar scenario. My advice and wisdom for you is to just go with it and trust your physician. It's going to suck. You're going to feel sorry for yourself. Totally normal. I'm hoping you have the same experience I've had in terms of now that I finally am weight bearing, my progression is astonishingly fast and strong. Looking back, I think it was well worth the wait. If you rushed it somehow - wouldn't it be better to be on the safe side of things than wishing you had waited just a bit longer? I think so.
I’m starting weight bearing at 6 weeks post-op but I have a tib/fib fracture, I’m wondering if it’s different because the bone’s in your foot? I’m not sure sorry, but I agree that any time NWB feels like forever. I’ve read some articles that potentially starting weight bearing sooner can have good outcomes, but definitely follow your doc’s advice.
This is the elevation pillow I got which I highly recommend: elevation pillow Amazon link
