That's great. When our dog got older, we found that they sell large dog stroller on Amazon (like this one). Worked wonderfully - we'd walk over an hour every night and he'd sit in there barking at everyone. It was such a boost to his mood to be able to go on long walks again. One of the stroller we had for another dog was such a perfect size - we could just take the handle bar off and put in the back of our CR-V and take her to her vet appointments without having to move her into/out of the stroller for the trip. Made life so much easier. Great job!
Enjoy every second with him. When I found out my soul dog had bone cancer, I was shattered, I could barely stand to be around her because the thought of losing her hurt too much. She had no idea her time was limited, she loved me just the same. I followed her lead. Dogs are wonderful that way, they live in the moment. I also purchased a book called the Dog Cancer Survival Guide, and it was quite useful. I highly recommend it https://www.amazon.com/Dog-Cancer-Survival-Guide-Treatments/dp/0975263153
They actually have pretty large strollers (like this one) on Amazon. I used to push around our husky and basset mix (different times) in something similar. Worked well - could even take the handle bars off and lift the entire thing into my SUV to take them to the vet without having to move them in and out.
Definitely some sort of sling. They make things like this and other designs that can also be worn while walking to add a little support.
I have a 14yo little dog, started her on Cholodin supplement, you can buy them on Amazon or at Walmart. It's made a big difference in her attitude and happiness. She seems less confused and hasn't had anymore pee accidents. You could give it a try, hope this helps! https://smile.amazon.com/Cholodin-Canine-180-Chewable-Tablets/dp/B000MF99XM/ref=sr_ph_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509792958&sr=sr-1&keywords=cholodin
Cosequin...or any supplement with Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Works wonders on older dogs...especially larger ones.
We have a very old dog who often has accidents. He’s a much smaller dog than yours. We have a baby play pen for him and use washable potty pads.
They make them in pretty large sizes.
Yeah these supplements are good since it's just the extract and no other added sugars. These are actually what we used and would just drop one in her food. https://www.chewy.com/naturvet-cranberry-relief-plus/dp/108204
AniMed 1 lb Pure MSM Powder with... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XTH99KH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I use this daily with my three Bassets. The old man of the bunch is around 14, and hikes three miles a day, slowly towards the end, but he makes it.
I love Yoshi already. If it is in your means, grab the ole boy a harness to help you both out. They have some very accommodating innovations that are relatively cheap. I hope you enjoy every single second you have left with your old man and that when the time comes everything is as smooth and pain free as can be. Thanks for rescuing him and giving him a chance at another life.

Thank you SO much u/somewhatsentientape!!! I did check out the bed you recommended and even wrote the company. They suggest the memory foam, the same as you said you have. So Franky got the Furhaven Jumbo Plus Memory Foam bed in Merlot. We covered it in a twin-size sheet which sort of defeats the color, but we'll take it off for company. As you can see it's more than big enough and we probably could have gone with the Jumbo size but she loves being able to sprawl. The bolsters work great as a pillow too.
You can see one of her smaller beds behind her. We had a sassy little Yorkie/Tzu who battled severe heart disease for years. Toward the end, she decided she wanted Franky's big bed. We had a smaller bed stored and brought it out so that there was no competition for beds. When Widget passed, we left the second bed out, so Franky uses them both now.
Franky's belly is shaved in the first pic because she had to go in for an ultra sound to check on her tumor to see if it spread after removal. It hasn't and soon it appears that she will be able to ring the bell and be cancer free!! They also did x-rays of her hips and spine and feel that cold laser might benefit her. So thanks for that tip! She will start that in the next couple of months. :-)
What a beauty!! My pup also has arthritis. I use green lipped mussel powder, and it’s been a game changer. He can now walk, run, and swim all he wants!!

I got an extra large on this and my 80-pounder and my 50-pounder could fit on it at the same time. Got two almost four years ago, they held up so well even with constant use that I donated one and sold the other just this December when I lost my remaining doggo.
Only note: it’s a little difficult to walk on, but the dogs figured it out.
Bonus: put a soft three sided bed on top for maximum happy
My labs have had this PetFusion orthopedic dog bed for 5 years and it still looks structurally brand new other than replacing the cover once. They love being able to rest their head on the bolsters. We got the XL and both can fit - 75 and 56 lbs.
Here is a knockoff of the super pricey Big Barker bed. We use it with a more cushy bed on top, makes for a super tall eyesore but our dog is cozy and comfy all day and night long.

I bought two of the jumbos because they are a great size for a GSD, but my 17yo cattle dog spends most of her time on one. They are super comfy memory foam and have a silky, furry texture that helps keep old dogs warm.
The old dog's biggest complaint with it is having to share it with all the cats.
My almost 12 year old Border Collie mix has this one: https://www.amazon.ca/Laifug-Orthopedic-Durable-Removable-Washable/dp/B08CDJMBPB/ref=mp_s_a_1_29?keywords=orthopedic%2Bdog%2Bbed&qid=1644521074&sr=8-29&th=1&psc=1
The cover is washable and is fairly large enough for her to starfish if she likes. Its also very very comfortable. I lay on it with her and it feels like a people bed. It also doesn't sink over time or when you sit on it so it will last.
One point is to be cautious of the height posted of the bed. I found it deceiving how they said maximum height of the whole bed was actually the height of ONE side of the pillow part.
Overall 10/10 recommend.
Found this on Amazon. It’s called the Chuckit ball.
Solves frustration of losing play time to search for the ball or replacing lost balls Emits an audible pulse sound to help both people and dogs locate the ball in any terrain after launchAmazon

No one has the right to kidnap, enslave, exploit, rape, torture, or murder anyone, for any reason.
You wouldn't do it to humans, and shouldn't to other animals. It's that simple.
Watch Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. Luna Lovegood and Newt Scamander are perfect examples of how you should view and treat other animals.
"We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy." - Albus Dumbledore
"Do you know why I admire you, Newt? More, perhaps, than any man I know? You do not seek power, or popularity. You simply ask 'Is a thing right? In itself?' If it is you do it, no matter the cost." - Albus Dumbledore
Humans are animals, and no more special than any other creature.
I have a dog that used to get constant UTIs. The vet was at a loss for what to do and kind of wrote us off. After trying to force her to drink water, cranberry pills, bladder treats, literally everything, the only thing that works is urinary gold
I am NOT a vet. But I do have some older dogs (10+ y/o) and I have seen what looks like this same skin issue on a couple of them. Three things come to mind: infection, fungus, and allergies.
If the skin is red and warm to the touch there's a higher chance that it's infection rather than allergies. If it just seems super itchy, likely allergies and/or fungus.
My dog who had this the worst was prescribed three things to clear it up. This, this, allergy medicine, and a round of antibiotics just for good measure.
I'm not gonna go giving links to fish amoxicillin that you can get without a prescription or anything like that, just gonna say that it exists and leave it there.
As for the shampoos and allergy medicine, it's working. The shampoos are used in tandem with one another and the allergy medicine was prescribed for a while but has recently been switched to OTC zyrtec. My girl is also currently on a hypoallergenic food diet, which may also be something for you to look into.
Sorry, these are them.

these are the ones that I have and they're awesome. Very sturdy and obviously you can wash them. Comes in a 3 pack and are very absorbent. They should work for pee and poo although my boy never pooed in them.
I used them to keep my boy from marking when I was away at work.

I bought waistband male resuable diapers for incontinence for my boy and found that using cheap thin period pads to line the diaper works best so that you're not having to constantly wash them every single time. You can get a few uses out of the diaper with the pads. And like another comment said be careful with diaper rash, it's def like taking care of a baby. I don't know how well it'd work with these full diapers, but I would play around with it until you find what's best. Good luck OP & Rico! Sweet boy:)
This is what I'm using. It's expensive af so he only gets one a day (he's actually 90lbs. I know he looks heavier. He's really just a giant set of lungs) plus his hips aren't that bad yet anyways.
My son's on here too somewhere 😂

Hi, there! I buy the cake mix from Amazon and when I am mixing the batter I add things like ground cinnamon, honey, sometimes a tiny bit of turmeric for his joints. I don't know if I can share the link but I will post it. Hopefully it won't be removed but if it does, I respect that decision!

Glucosamine! Arthritis' enemy! I highly recommend Arthrimaxx from Amazon. Because it's liquid it absorbs directly and more quickly into the system, and you don't need to worry about strength & dosage versus when you use pills. Dante (at age 11) went from limping to trotting along in three days (limp went away in less time than that) because of this, and it delayed his need for prescription strength medication until he was almost 13. Highly recommended!
Also, what a happy puppy! Happy birthday buddy! What did you give him to celebrate the day?
