You could also grab a copy of the NASM textbook, which gives an awesome overview of everything from energy conversion to functional movements and how to assess and address weaknesses: https://www.amazon.com/NASM-Essentials-Personal-Fitness-Training/dp/1284200884
Thank you for both recommendations, I’ll look into those. I’ve seen this one widely recommended other places on the internet. Have you seen it used in your experience?
I found this book useful: https://www.amazon.com/How-to-Think-Like-Roman-Emperor-audiobook/dp/B07F9YYR62
It's a bit of a blend: it tells the life story of Marcus Aurelius, and draws lessons from his life and philosophy (Stoicism), but it's also a layman's introduction to modern cognitive behavioral therapy.
So huuuuuuuge caveat here, but Dave Asprey, a biohacker type, wrote the 'better baby book'. I find a lot of his stuff really questionable.
However, you could use it as a basis to lookup NIH supported studies for anything he quotes in there. Or at least might give you some ideas on what to research.
Absolutely do not take his advice without your own research though.
I'm the founder of this service. I can assure you that our coaches are insane. If you won't like it I will give you money back personally.
We make guidelines based on Andrew Huberman, Attia and others (here is one of the examples from Huberman)
I have been enjoying these complete meal shakes: https://gethlth.com/ They were created by the researcher who wrote Why We Get Sick. Before that I used Naked Whey which was fine but like the other ingredients (e.g. healthy fats) in the HeathCode shakes. The taste of the chocolate flavor it great too IMO.
Yes!
I went from 124mg/dl to 77mg/dl in 60 days.
No change in weight. Also, I have had high HDL (80+), high LDL (250+) and low trigs (<60) for several years.
I took the Thorne formulation, 1000mg.

Here's more info about Berberine:
From the video here, it definitely looks like she's applying a Libre Freesyle (Abbot). I can't tell which model.
Anecdotally, my mother (a T1D) uses the Freestyle Libre 14 (14 day sensor) and she loves it. She still will occasionally check her blood sugar with her most accurate meter the Contour Next, and more often than not it's within 5 points (mg/dL). She's been very impressed with the Freestyle Libre 14, and she's down from 12+ finger sticks per day to around 2 or less. I'm trying to convince her to try the Dexcom G6, because of it's alarms, but she hasn't had a hypo-glycemic incident since she started using a CGM 6 months ago.
I thought this might be interesting to Peter Attia and followers of his podcast.
This is from the "mindbodygreen Podcast" and it discusses wearing a CGM and what to do to limit your glucose spikes. I found it interesting and am going to check out her book Glucose Revolution: The Life-Changing Power of Balancing Your Blood Sugar
> Jessie Inchauspe: “If you eat a meal in a specific order, you can reduce the glucose spike of the meal by 75%.”
> Inchauspe, a biochemist and bestselling author, joins mbg co-CEO, Jason Wachob, to discuss the easiest ways to balance your blood sugar, plus:
>I love endurance sports. Is my hobby harming me as long as I incorporate strength, mobility, and stability work into my routine?
No.

If your hobby is endurance sports you should be aware of common pitfalls of the category
you should be aware of what these are and their symptoms.
If you are training 6+ hours a week (I think most of us endurance people are) and hitting the other exercise pillars you are doing fine. Choosing the right balance between extending healthspan with exercise and actually enjoying life is a personal decision.
I enjoy cycling (road mostly) and consequently do more cycling training than is strictly optimal.
Not sure about his rec, you could search on his blog.
I use this because it has high omega 3 content. 2-3 capsules a day https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FM9KNSI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You could also check examine.com https://examine.com/supplements/fish-oil/ while its effect on LDL is unclear, reduction in TG and VLDL and increase in HDL is going to be really effective for anyone with cholesterol concerns (read: most humans today).
