I second the previous Herman Miller suggestion. I love mine.
I also have one of these “kids” chair from Amazon for my craft area.
I’m 5’2” if that helps.
Do you have a sun dress? They are great to have in the wardrobe. They dress up and down super easily with shoes and accessories. I don’t know your style, but something like this would be safe https://smile.amazon.com/Wellwits-Womens-Floral-Button-Vintage/dp/B07R3XBTSN/ref=sr_1_5?crid=34D3KWTDPBFML&dchild=1&keywords=50s%2Bsummer%2Bdresses%2Bfor%2Bwomen&qid=1595269278&sprefix=50s%2Bsu%2Caps%2C217&sr=8-5&th=1
I used to work in a very conservatively dressed field and button up collard shirts were the norm, but wouldn’t work for my chest. I started wearing 50’s style swing dresses with blazers or cardigans. Wrap dresses were also a go to, sometimes with a cami underneath
I know I'm supposed to love myself and yada yada, but I hate my hip dips. They aren't too deep, so I'm hoping actually sticking to a strength training program for more than a minute will fill them out.
As for clothes, I don't avoid any particular style, but I do try to find individual pieces that work to hide them or de emphasize them rather than highlight them. Ruched fabric does this really well, also dresses with harder/thicker seams along the sides.
Like this:
Ruching is awesome at hiding anything you aren't wanting on full display. :)
Someone else linked the original post talking about petite chairs and I ended up buying this one
I'm 5'3 and it fits perfectly, but my desk is still too tall, so I use a footrest. I was having sciatica issues with my "average" sized chair and so far have not had any with this smaller one.
I was having the same problem, I’m 5’2 and all my office chairs were causing knee pain. This chair is insanely comfortable
Maybe try child's size? I don't have a specific recommendation cuz someone made the only one I have that actually fits me, but I think it was a pattern for "10-12 year olds."
For adult women's size masks, i got these silicone adjuster things on amazon. The fabric covers my ears, so i can't even hook the elastic on my ears lol but if I hook the elastic on the silicone thingys and pull the fabric down, it works like a charm! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08837FB57/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_m7bpFbW6AY5CV
I wear that size also! I just bought these from Aerosol. They are so cute!
I also have them in black. They carry a good selection of different shoes at different prices.
Also this brand has a lot of shoes in 5's. Vionic. I keep shoes for years ago I go up a little in my budget for them.
I really like shirt dresses for this situation. They’re nice enough to look a little formal but not too dressy. They pair nicely with a pair of heels or flats and a blazer. You could also go for a belted sheath dress. https://www.amazon.com/PRETTYGARDEN-Womens-Casual-Bodycon-Pockets/dp/B07DNZTLXB/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=belted+sheath+dress&qid=1623175236&sprefix=belted+shea&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=AW513678AUV06&spLa=ZW5...
I have one really similar to that in black and I typically wear an XXS or an XS. I believe mine is a small and still fits well. For reference I am 4’11, 90 lbs, have a short torso and legs.
Im on the XS/S and usually get my pleather jackets from Amazon: Made By Johnny MBJ Womens Faux Leather Zip Up Moto Biker Jacket with Stitching Detail https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00W5SYM6S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_3ANGHE3X3C615YNQWA2Y
I’ve purchased a couple 100% cotton joggers from here before:
icyzone Women's Athletic Sweatpants Joggers with Pockets https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BRZ7JPP/
They have a 28” inseam so I think they fit more like sweatpants (baggy over the ankle cuff) but they are 100% cotton and aren’t stupidly long for someone 5’0.
I’m 5’3 and I bought this one in a small! However, it’s currently sold out right now :(
Pinzon Terry Bathrobe 100% Cotton, White, Small / Medium https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06XG5S6C1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_7rG.Fb6GNYJE3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I got this one off Amazon. It comes with shorts underneath which is nice! It fits true to size, but I'd still check the size chart. I've had it about a year with no issues/ stretching so I'd say the quality is good for being $16!
I’m 5’4 with a 22” waist and ordered this one from Amazon.
Under $20 and great quality. Length wouldn’t be too long on you, but I’ve also known tons of girls to hem the bottom to make it bootylicious lol
I took in about 1.5” for it to fit around the small of my waist. I liked it so much, I ordered another in a second color.
Thank you!
I found the hat on amazon over the summer, this link should work:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y5JFHHX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hey, I did, I'll post an actual pic of myself later this week if I get a chance. I bought this dress and it fits perfectly. (I got a size 2 petite, I'm 5'2" 115 lbs).
The back of the bodice is slightly stretchy so it fits to your figure. The material is pretty heavy plus it's lined, so it probably wouldn't be very good for a hot summer event though. (I got it for a reception that's not till end of Sept.)
I found a lot of great dresses by putting "dress" in search at Amazon, then clicking "Petite Shop" in sidebar, then click women's clothing, dresses, and then you can select size.
Good luck!
I bought this one, in green and I love it. I am using it for a work/overnight bag, but I work from home most of the time with some travel. No funky smell, no bleeding on my clothes, I got a purse organizer from Amazon also and it fits perfectly. I can fit my laptop, cords, over the ear headphones, all of my purse stuff, snacks and still have some room for extras. It's not too heavy, and that's coming from a 5'0" 100lb lady with fibromyalgia. I think black or brown would look professional for a finance job, without being mega boring.
I have the same problem! I’m 5ft 1in. I have a really hard time with work pants as well, but I actually use these I got off amazon in several colors. They look like work pants but feel like yoga pants and are stretchy! I find them flattering and super comfy and they come in “short” length with regular sizes.

Med couture Activate scrubs on amazon work really good for me. 5’0 125 lbs, wear size small. Really nice fabric They are nice for shorties and when I first got them I was heavier and they really hid the weight

If it’s a pair of jeans I can’t get in a curvy option.
I get a size big and buy pin buttons (I add an extra button to my jeans) and just adjust my waist.
I like this belt. I got the longer size and it fits well. Plus it is reversible.
This is not adjustable, but it is my go-to sports bra: Nike Womens Pro Sports Bra - Navy... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0085YUNVO?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I am a size F, and I can rarely ever find a sports bra that I can run in, but I’ve had no trouble with this one.
High neckline like halter neck and turtle neck as shown in your pics absolutely gives the illusion of a fuller bust so it's a good to stick with those. Some formal dresses I think will suite your need:
Here is a round neckline, figure hugging dress with great lace accent on the top.
Or stick with halter dresses like this Betsy & Adam dress, which has an elegant ruffle bottom and a medium slit.
Try this
White Dickie collar, navy blazer
I think this will depend on your expectations. A lot of “snatched” waists you see on Instagram and even posted here on Reddit are photoshopped or manipulated in some way. Shapewear can smooth things out but nothing will encase and shape your waist like that without being a corset.
I have one that goes up to my rib cage but it leaves indentation lines so I would think one like in this link would maybe work for what you want: Shape wear
I chose this one because even the brands that sell these tend to use bodies that either don’t really need them or they manipulate the “after” to make it more appealing.
I second giving maternity jeans a try if all else fails. I used to have really bad ibs and couldn't take any pressure on my stomach and they were great! I had these ones and as long as I didn't try to wear a tucked in shirt no one could tell they weren't just normal jeans.
Loveee the fit. A bright colored shoulder/hand bag or clutch wallet would look amazing! I think a chunky chain necklace like this would be cute too:
https://www.revolve.com/8-other-reasons-sterling-chain-necklace-in-silver/dp/8OTH-WL575/
I’m 5’ on a good day, and have a very short torso. I’m normally anti-backpack, but I was tired of my shoulder hurting from my big tote bag so I bought this for a trip a couple of months ago and really liked it. The quality seemed good for the price too. VANKEAN 15.6 Inch Laptop Backpack... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09LGSQWHW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Hello and yes, the dress needs to be adjusted by a tailor.
You can add a nice golden or pearl type of belt, to enhance your waist and make your legs look longer.
And speaking of shoes, considering you are petite, I would avoid sandals with an ankle strap because it will make your legs look shorter. You need something like this: https://www.amazon.com/wetkiss-Pointed-Patent-Leather-Chunky/dp/B08Z3BFD9C/ref=sr_1_14?keywords=chunky%2Bheel%2Bpump&qid=1662796334&s=apparel&sr=1-14&th=1
Of course, it's an example, but this type of heels leave your ankles free and elongate your leg. Ultimately, you can wear them if you wish so, I'd personally save those sandals for skinny pants or long skirts. But again, just my 2 cents!
Wedges are seeming like your only option due to the conditions. If you're wanting to wear regular pumps though you should get those see-through heel protectors, they're honestly a life saver.
Different fabrics react differently with bras I recommend these dimrs. I found them at a local bra shop and it doesn’t matter what bra/fabric combo you wear
https://www.amazon.com/DIMRS-Self-Adhesive-Nipple-Covers/dp/B002P98WMM
Superdown midi dresses fit me, they’re not too long. I’m 5’3”. This is the one I have: superdown Candace dress
Those are not cute enough to be $75. That’s crazy talk.

Amazon! I got it in a size small. It’s great because its high waisted but the butt doesn’t hang out lol
I’m sure you’ve heard this before, but your arms look perfectly normal, and actually quite nice and well toned. Also, very impressive nails! I always wanted to try long ones like that, but my hobbies won’t allow it.
As for recommendations, I’ve seen some adorable lacy crocheted or woven shawl and wraps that are designed to lightly cover the arms and shoulders. Maybe you could try one of them! It would also be a Good way to dip your toe back into feeling better about them, since there wouldn’t be sleeves. It might feel a bit uncomfortable at first, but good things aren’t always the comfortable ones.
Here’s some on Amazon, lots of places have them
https://www.amazon.com/white-shawl/s?k=white+shawl&rh=p_76%3A2661625011
This is just my personal preference as a crop top sweater to work wearer but OP’s crop top sweater being at grazes her breasts length versus a little above navel length crop top (this is the sweater length o wear with a button down underneath a la this style from Veronica Beard.
A grazes the breast crop top reminds me of outfits I see on Revolve which is wear I used to buy my club or to a bar like this
Not saying OP’s couldn’t work at an office if she really wants to wear it, as I wrote in my standalone comment, but it’s still on the shorter end of a crop top than what I personally would want to wear to work even at my very casual dress code tech office though others might be cool wearing it (with a covering midriff bottom layer)

Hii. I feel like it’s a little too small [wasn’t expecting the crop tops to be so short] but I love the shorts. They aren’t a perfect fit but they allow room to grow & shrink & they are absolutely comfortable.
The shorts were a steal for $13. I’m in a medium.

I literally just bought this flowered romper from Amazon for a wedding on Sunday and it looks absolutely AMAZING on my 4'11" 140 lb. body, so I don't care if they're in or not, I will be wearing it as often as possible this summer. Would 100% recommend to any of my petite friends!
Sandals like picture. Or any brown sandal, really. You can do a white canvas sneaker. Cowboy boots would be cute. I mean like almost shoe will work fortunately.
However, this is going to be a lot of material on you with a jacket. By showing some of your ankle, you’ll break up the look a bit.
If you can’t find a tailor to hem it for you, look into double sided tape. Super cheap, easy to use.
Something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0018BVNIS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_1D9J2N7FRVKFBWFWAC5P
Sorry darling do break it to you, but no. Even though I think that this dress isn't meant to be worn with a belt, maybe if you tried getting an elastic one? Still not so sure about the result, but the current belt you have on is nothing but inharmonious; it's too big on you and the tail at the end...I could go on and on... Anyways, here's some link for reference in case you're confused: https://www.amazon.com/Modeway-Stretch-Elastic-Cinch-Buckle/dp/B00ZUKW1ZW
Again, sorry if I was too harsh! Hope I helped you <3
I think we need something to create a waist, a high waisted flowy midi skirt would look great. I think this is a great top to mix patterns with, maybe a blue/white polka dot skirt or floral or some sort? skirt example
A-line can give a flattering, hour-glassy look. For example: https://www.revolve.com/dp/LIKR-WD558/?deeplink=true&source=appshare
Wore this LIKELY “Carter” ^ dress in yellow to a wedding last year. It was a huge hit and I didn’t feel constricted/ self-conscious even after eating & drinking as I often do with bodycon styles.
Nordstrom rack also has great deals and surprisingly amazon, too?! I got a BCBG dress for $20 last year.
Abercrombie is also making a comeback. They have a whole “best dressed guest” section.
Another shape I think you might like is off-the-shoulder. Example: https://www.abercrombie.com/shop/us/womens-best-dressed-guest-weddings-and-events
Also remember you can always get a dress hemmed if you love the fit otherwise!

This is the one I wear the most and it IS a bit long (but not weirdly long) in the crotch but I like that fit tbh, on a boiler suit. Since you can do the try before you buy with this item, def try and see what you feel about!! The inseam is about 30” hence why I had to hem it a bit.
Also if you want another boiler suit / jumpsuit brand, I absolutely love the boiler suits from Alex Mill. Pricier but really well made, and no long crotch. Also haven’t needed to hem since the inseam is closer to my natural inseam ~25-26”. I can do one roll on the bottoms of them and it’s peeeerfect. This is my all time fave

Hi there! I've lived in Chicago for 15 years now and before that, grew up in New England (CT). As many have mentioned, wool is not gonna keep you warm in the winter - the wind we have here bites right through it. You'd need a windbreaker-type outershell to really help out with that. Wool coats are perfect for the fall and spring season though!
I wore my New England wool coat for YEARS when I lived in Chicago and when I finally switched over to a thermal parka, I was sooo much more comfortable outside. A few years ago, after a particularly bad commute to work, I bought Baffin heavy waterproof winter boots (~$100) and a Patagonia 3-in-1 winter parka (~$400 on sale) and I'm so toasty in the winter now. The investment in good winter gear is so, so worth it. Sorry this wasn't exactly the recommendation you were asking for, but some food for thought. :)
If the place you are working at does fit testing for masks that would be ideal. I know we are living in crazy times right now so this may not be possible for you. When I was in residency, we had to go thru ‘fit testing’. The regular size masks weren’t fitting my face and the Kimberly Clark model in size small was a better fit. I used these around Tuberculosis patients and didn’t get TB.
I haven’t purchased these personally yet, I’ve been using KN95 and just twisting the ear straps to shorten before looping over my ears, taping the bridge of the nose and under my eyes (this helps with the breath fog). I have a ton of the KN95 now bc I kept buying them randomly online. When I run out I’ll be getting some from Kimberly-Clark.

Maybe check out Rosetti crossbody purses. They have some smaller sizes and will adjust to what you need. I have one with multi pockets and it was my favorite purse until I upgraded to this lovely beauty! From Amazon of all places lol bigger than what you're looking for but I had to share with someone!
Thanks! It’s vintage, but Pashmina (they are quite expensive though) makes scarves that are very similar to this one :)! I’ve found some cool paisley scarves on Amazon which are waaaay more affordable and look very nice- like this one for instance: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B012G4V3TO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_HS9X8S63XCPSHQER6AWN
I would also visit some local vintage and thrift stores, as they often offer these kinds of scarves as well. Etsy is also always a great option!
I just bought a mock neck long sleeve in that same line from Baleaf and I love it for running!
I've worn and washed it 4 times now and it still looks and feels like new, so I have hope it won't pill too quickly. Might have to grab a pair of leggings now!
Actually yes! I love Brooks Momentum Thermal Tight for running and just hanging out. Don’t remember when they started pilling, but I wore the same pair almost daily for two straight winters going on three, and they still look all right.
A surprisingly decent budget option is Baleaf Fleece Lined High Waisted Thermal Legging. I just got them so I can’t speak to how quickly they’ll pill, but they’re warm, come in a million colors, and have pockets.
I just have a super simple ikea desk but I attached this keyboard tray from Amazon. I feel like this also makes a huge difference, I keep both my keyboard and mouse on this tray. Otherwise I do get shoulder pain trying to use my desk at its normal height.

Skater skirts are my best friend. The flare of this skater skirt gives me a more hourglass illusion. I also love Madewell jeans, they always make my booty look good! And my favorite stretch of American Eagle jeans are their Dream Jeans, specifically in their “super high waisted jeggings”. They lift my booty up.

Ok, so I'm just like you... I basically ban polyester from my closet but also I can't stand the rigidity of denim. Spoiler alert: it leaves me wearing a LOT of dresses.
I don't wear pants often, but when I do these are my absolute favorite. There's something about the cut of them... they're like Eileen Fisher's cooler younger cousin. So comfy yet very modern-chic. Even though they are oversized they look great on my petite frame.
Get ready to serve some architect vibes.

Here you go! Buying something with zero reviews felt like a gamble so I'm glad it paid off. Hope the dress works out for you!
If you're looking for an ergonomic footrest I'd recommend checking out https://www.amazon.com/underdeskfootrest/dp/B01G4VHSRG?ref=myi_title_dp
It's adjustable with 4 height/angle settings and the tallest setting is at 6.5" so it may be a good fit for you.
I use this foot pillow at my desk at home. I love it!
You can try these heel cushions . I’ve had these for about a week and they have worked better than moleskin for me.
To fix the waist being too big, I'd recommend buying button pins! (like this)
https://www.amazon.com/Increase-4-Layer-Orthotic-Elevator-Variable/dp/B07DMLMKBB/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=shoe+inserts+to+make+you+taller&qid=1619292904&sr=8-7 I use these heel inserts they add an extra few inches and no one can tell you're wearing them! But they only work with shoes that are very roomy (like boots).
This used to be a huge problem for me. I would have so much pain that I had to crawl into bed. I wish I was exaggerating.
Low fodmap diet helped me get less bloat and pain. But it was like putting a bandaid on an open wound. I couldn’t reintroduce anything and staying on that diet will be detrimental to your gut health, so if you want the easy way I suppose you could try that.
What actually helps is adressing underlying problems which are:
I had antibiotics as a baby which means my gut biome is weak
I also have non-celiac gluten sensitivity
I am allergic to fragrance and chrome
What I do about the problems:
Eat lots of foods that don’t get digested until they reach the large intestine: onions, kale, all the healthy fodmaps, an apple instead of apple juice
Take probiotics (this helps me a lot, but not from one day to another. Patience is required)
I take gluten very seriously now. I also avoid cross-reactors which are other grains, dairy, yeast, potatoes and coffee
Bad gut bacteria love sugar above all else. I avoid it
Allergens cause inflammation which causes bloating. I avoid mine. (Mini-rant: people’s stupid shampoos and hair-products can’t be banished and can ruin my day with migraine. Stop using poison on your bodies, you’re not only affecting yourself! Rant over)
So much effort for a flat stomach!? I will unashamedly say yes, but I also get my mood back, nice skin, good sleep, sooooo much less pain and lots of other benefits. That comically bloated stomach is a sure sign of chronic inflammation and there’s no way it’s not going to get worse down the road. Adressing it now may save you from developing allergies or chronic autoimmune illness not to mention the loss of quality of life you experience.

I have been buying these for going on five years now (just checked my Amazon orders page) and I LOVE THEM. They’re the only undies I wear anymore. I’m 5’0”, 95lbs, I buy the XS and they fit perfectly. Rise is not too low, not too high. Just right. Full back coverage, and thanks to the lace NO PANTY LINES. I repeat, NO PANTY LINES! They’re also cute, not granny panties but not super sexy either. I can’t recommend these enough, I have repurchased so many times. I have at least a few in every color available. I have ~20 pairs in rotation and probably about twice as many stocked away for the future. I love them that much.
I wouldn’t want to do this because I just fear if I’m in an accident and the insurance company gets wind, they may not pay medical bills if I’m not using the headrest the way it’s intended. What I do is put the headrest up the whole way and I bought strap on head rests that fit my neck better. I had to purchase several of them before I found one I like. I cannot recall if I liked this one, but here’s a link to one I did buy so you can see what I’m talking about. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HUOLMGY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
