You might want to look into Channels DVR that can record legally the live streams from the TV networks using your Philo TV credentials. The recordings are saved on your own server and are yours to keep forever.
One great feature that it has is an advanced pass that enables you to automatically record shows that match whatever criteria you define. Even if the shows are not in the guide for the next 2 weeks, they will be picked up whenever they show up later. It is very powerful to select very specific shows. Examples of advanced passes: new Christmas movies, 80's movies, shows with a specific person as a guest. The possibilities are endless. I love it.
Say, that Privacy.com site is a nice find! And in response to another commenter, they have an option where you pay nothing for their service. A great service for protecting your cards from online thievery (unless their site gets hacked, of course).
Philo lets you have 10 user profiles per account (so you plus nine other people) with three concurrent streams at any given time — so, you're right, if a fourth person or device tries to stream Philo, someone will be kicked off.
If the only two people using Philo are you and your sister, I don't think you'll have to worry about this limitation: Just set up a profile for her on your account. Once the profile is set up, you can assign her e-mail address and/or phone number to it. That way she can log in to her profile on your account on her own. (I had to do this for my mom recently.) That way you don't have to pay Philo twice.
If you still insist on paying separately for her to have her own subscription (maybe because you already have multiple people in your house logging onto Philo at once, or you expect she'll have multiple people logging on at her house), you're going to need a separate debit or credit card, since Philo already has yours linked to your subscription. If you don't have a second bank account, you can always set up a virtual card through Privacy.com, then have the virtual card automatically debit your checking account the $20 a month for her Philo subscription.
Same here. Philo has gone downhill to the point I am considering other options even if they cost more. Last 3 weeks it buffers to the point of being ridiculous. All support wanted to do was totally reset and wipe my firestick 4k, even though all other apps run fine(YTTV, Netflix, Disney +, ESPN +). Netflix speed (fast.com) on the stick averages about 175, which should be fine for anything.
I figured at the price ($16) it would not last long but it lasted longer than I thought!
20-30 bucks. i've sold/bought other accounts like this before, specifically a grandfathered directvnow account. i put a temporary cc card (from privacy.com) and will change the email to the buyers new email address. i'm not here to scam a little bit of money, i have much better things to do with my time. cheers.
Philo and Netflix and Amazon Prime. I recently picked up this cheap little antenna https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017JEF126/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I spent several hours in the yard last Weekend walking it around to several different spots trying to find somewhere that picks up every channel and I actually found a spot where I can get ALL the Majors (ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, CW, Peachtree TV and My Network TV), other locations I lose 1 or more of those channels, plus a bunch of other secondary channels, which is damn impressive because I live 59-63 MILES from the Atlanta Broadcast Towers AND I'm down in a valley. I need to do a permanent install of the antenna then I will begin considering a Tablo or HDHomeRun to put that signal into apps on our Roku's, Fire TV's, Apple TV or Shield TV (depending on which device I chose to use).
My mom recently moved to a house that has an antenna and so i'm looking at setting her up with a combo of Philo and OTA and getting her off the ever increasing price (while losing content) of Playstation Vue that I set her up on right after they dropped the SLIM plans last year (like just a few days later).
There is a guide, you can see screenshots here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.philo.philo.google&hl=en_US
I'm not sure why you were told otherwise -- can you DM me your ticket number?
