You could use something like a MiUi-fy or something similar to alter the pull down shade, and something similar to custom volume panel hope this is what you were searching for!
Since I'm a graphic artist, photo manipulator and photo retoucher, coIor correcting is what I do everyday. So I noticed it righaway after using a gray wallpaper and when sliding to the notification slowly. Was surprised ther was a magenta tint. After using this app to test I have confirmed it.
Now all I can do was kust sigh... 😔
I did some research, and yes. According to a Google search and the Google store, they both have connectivity that work. Also, If you are getting a pixel, I recommend the following case: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09G9YV4X8/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_YFTKP8K196355K58B1T4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Only downside is it gets fingerprints very easy. Please ask if you have any questions, I got a pixel and am very excited to be able to share my experience.
I ordered this one since it protected dosen of drops on concrete, tiles, wood for my current xiaomi mi8. I am sure it will protect pixel 5a also without issues.

Hey buddy, I just received the case I ordered from Amazon. Caseology Parallax. I found this case to be really good. Caseology Cases are available on Amazon, but do a google search instead of Amazon search. https://www.amazon.in/dp/B08X9SFDB6/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_BDY9NRVMZ19B7RV7RHXY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Let me know if you find a tempered glass/screen protector 😉
Spigen liquid air case. I've been using this on the 5a for a while and it's just super comfortable and slim as well. I've always used this particular case series for previous phones as well and also recommend it to anyone who asks. Spigen just gets it right.

PS: I'm not a shill. I just love their cases.
Not sure it's as soft as you wish, but a great two-part case for exceptional protection is the Caseology Parallax

I have a semi-soft single layer Spigen at the moment. I'm fairly certain I'll be upgrading to the OtterBox defender which is soft on the inside with a hard shell outside as you described. As far as I'm concerned definitely worth $37:

I've gotten a good case for my PIXEL 4a, and am waiting for them to release a version for my 5a. Probably only a matter of a few months.

I am using the Spigen Liquid Air, no complaints: Spigen Liquid Air Armor Designed for Google Pixel 5a 5G Case (2021) - Matte Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08X1R7873/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_R4EVD2G29FF0RKVY5R9D?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I will likely get an OtterBox, though only the Commuter is available, and I prefer the Defender because it is so robust.
Spigen Tough Armor case is very nice. Different from the last case I used from them, but still a 2 part case with great protection. Kickstand--a gimmick? I don't know, I haven't had a case with one for ten or more years. We'll see if it gets used.
I went with this Screen Protector from Amazon. It fit, doesn't touch the side of the case, but doesn't leave enough of a gap to catch anything. Went on easy. Time will tell how it holds up, but with 3 in the pack I doubt I will ever need another.
Very happy with the fitment. Close enough to the edge that it doesn't affect gestures but still doesn't interfere with the case. Can't tell a difference in photo quality with the camera protector. Install was easy. Included prep stuff was good quality. I'll buy these again down the road for sure.
Got this one. Fit wasn't quite right manufacturer reached out and let me know they improved it and sending a new one out for free. Ferilinso Designed for Google... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0962VGPJC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I ordered this from Amazon and should have them Tuesday. Only 9 days after ordering them Amazon Prime! Amazon has turned into a steaming pile.
I'll report back once they arrive.

Update: I just got this case in: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09D9G21G2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_2FVY961JN4MW1JM69VT3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It's the best one I've tried so far, I think the key is finding a case with thin and low-profile bezels. My case on the OP6 had higher protection on the corners and was almost negligible on the sides, which I think is perfect for one-hand use.
I also ordered a Spigen Thin-Fit but it'll arrive in two weeks. Until then, I'm fairly happy with the cover linked above.
I ordered this case and it arrives tomorrow. I'd probably have gone with the thin case had there been any other color but black.
