I hope that helps. If you don't have one already, I put a link below of a small desk humidifier I used for my first calathea and they were very happy next to it.

This plant showed up a while ago, and I was wondering what it was. I used the Seek app to try to identify it, and it said it was Sensitive Partridge Pea. It's almost identical, but all the images I saw of Partridge Pea looked like it was in tall stocks, and my plant is flat to the ground. Sorry for the bad quality pictures, my camera lens was fogging up.

Sorry to give you an Amazon link, but it’s the best match to your leaf shape:
I believe where the British isles were was much warmer when it was living.
There’s a really awesome book called Jewels: A Secret History by Victoria Finley that’s a fun read. She does a chapter on the history of the gems that have been used the longest.

I agree. It's clearly happy where it is, let it continue to thrive there. You aren't doing it any favors by taking it home. You can buy lichen that's cultivated specifically for retail sale such as this mixed bag that contains the same lichen that you posted here.
Not the person you replied too, but I bought the wheatgrass seeds in the link below and the bag has lasted my two cats over a year now. MUCH less expensive than buying the plants at a store . It grows in just a few days too!

It’s my first time buying plants on Amazon, or rather my first time buying plants at all, ha. I took a gamble with this one, but I got lucky I guess! I really appreciate the information. I hope I’m able to keep it beautiful. :)
I've had it since September, it's on for about 15 hours a day, about 6-7 inches from the bulb.
What would you do with it?
Lol..does look like that. I’m using this one
All my other plants are doing great under these..
The picture quality is super bad, but my first thought was Tradescantia. You can use this app to figure it out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=plant.identification.snap Or post better pics, that'd help 😅
The juvenile ones don't look like their mature versions, example below. I went with Areca as well because I thought in the second pic I see a split leaf on the left side. Still could be something else.

It certainly looks like a Maple. A close up of the leaves would be very helpful. In order to post a photo in the comments you first have to upload the photo to a photo sharing site/app such as Imgur then copy the link and paste it here in the comments. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imgur.mobile
Caladium perhaps? Caladium
