I also bought this:

It’s cool but … hard to use the pump. Feels like it needs a foot hold to make drawing the pump handle back easier.
Never got around to trying to fab something up yet for it.
The one I got off Amazon no longer available.
Quick search turned up this:

I bought it for my daughter. Turns out she didn't like panning 😔. I use it for clean up, small, high contrast. Here's where I got it.
Old post but, if you can't use a high banker (the logical choice to process more material over a sluice) then focus on a more efficient way to classify, and a larger flare area on your sluice.
I saw an old timer that used a shrimp boiling/steamer basket that fitted nicely on a 5-gallon bucket. It looked like this but his (and the one I use now) was stainless.

It was extremely efficient to classify with it; fill the bucket with water, put basket inside, shovel dirt, lift a bit and rotate the basket handle, no need to even bend down. From there having a larger sluice flare and good water flow allows you to dump twice the amount of material into your sluice.
Anyone ever use those little "pinpointer" metal detectors? They seem useful.
They were forced to sell the land. Don't really see how it matters if they were compensated fairly or not as the discussion was about 'if it’s actually a special area… government will find out and somehow get a hold of it eventually and never let go'
Arkansas is no different.

That’s one of the reasons I got this one, to see how it acts in the pan. This one was like 59$ I think. I’m only a few pans in and what I’ve recovered is around 15$ worth so hopefully it’ll pay itself off. REALLY fun though, especially when you see those flakes flash in the pan.

i've been prospecting for quite a few years. I've acquired quite a few different pans. Having a Garrett supersluice in your inventory is a nice fall back. But if I were to buy a pan I would go with the newest technology and one of the better pans that I like and I seem to use a lot my go to Pan this year is the XP pan ( https://www.amazon.com/XP-Metal-Detectors-Starter-Prospecting/dp/B091BGTMVT ) The thing I like about this pan well there's actually a lot of things I like about this pan. first thing the classifier works really well they call the holes diamonds but it's kind of a skewed square, when you're classifying material into your pan it's twice as fast as any other classifier I've used to date. The XP pan is a 15 inch pan it's bright blue which makes the gold pop. There's two different size riffles in the side a large riffle and then a small riffle which I use a lot. Then they also have a thing called snake skin. So if you have very small gold it really helps clean the small black sand from the small gold. XP pen it's new on the market I believe this year take a look at it you won't be sorry you buy this pan, I bought the basic kit if I could do it over again I would buy the kit with the quarter inch and a half inch classifier now it's really sized in metric but that's what it's close to.
I can’t speak to any of the other questions, but I just picked up the Garnett Deluxe Gold Pan Kit off Amazon which seems to be a pretty cost effective jumping off point for all that’s included.
Just posted this link in another thread but I swear by this little 50 inch folding sluice I just picked up for $100 bucks.
I like it

This is quite affordable and will come a wife and kid sized pan! Just need a bucket(s) and shovel(s). (I've bought it, quality is great for the money.) Edit: if you can spend a few more dollars, buy from actual gold prospector stores (can be online) to support them and the hobby.
Use your pan to separate the bs from the gold, then use a sniffer bottle to suck up the gold.
Watch more prospecting on youtube, lot's of panning techniques to be seen there. Learn fast and efficient movements to minimize the work and time involved with panning, and get really clean gold too.
Have fun!
First thing I did was locate some local clubs that would give me access to some workable claims. Second thing I did was order a pan, classifier, snuffer bottle and 1-dram glass vials from Amazon. To save you some trouble, this is the only snuffer that I have found that doesn't leak my gold into the threads.... nothing worse then opening your snuffer to fill with water and notice gold on the threads, your fingers, and the outside of the tube! Gear in hand, I put dirt from my driveway in the pan and took some lead bee bee's (bird shot) out of a shotgun shell and mixed them in the dirt; know how many bee bee's you put in, and find them. Do it a lot. Then I purchased some 'pay dirt' off Amazon and practiced with that; if you can pan lead bee bee's, you can pan gold. After that, I joined a couple clubs and went onto some claims.
Pro Tip; Buy a cement mixing tub to use as a basin to pan in. This is just an example, but go get one from Lowes for about $5 I sink a spare pan under the water I put into the tub, and try to let my tailings drop into that 'catch pan.' When I think I found all my gold, I pull my catch pan and pan that. When you stop finding gold in the catch pan then you're as ready as you'll ever be.
Have fun!
I personally think Garett's 1/2" plastic classifier is garbage. I'd get one of these. I find 1/4" works great for my area. The more uniform the material, the easier it is to pan. I like their SuperSluice a lot, but it probably isn't a "beginner's" pan, but if you think she'll stick with it, I'd get one; It's my favorite and most used pan. Their 14" pan and 10" are great though. I mainly just don't like the kit due to the classifier. I'd build your own kit with a 10", 14", the stainless 1/4" classifier, a snuffer bottle, and maybe a pair of fine tweezers. Maybe a magnet pickup tool as well. If you don't already have a small shovel or some trowels/scoops, I'd recommend those as well.
I don't have experience with other brands of pans, but I've used my Garretts for several years doing both gold panning and stream sediment sampling for work.
Of course! I was looking at the Garmin InReach SE+, it's a locator beacon, and can also send two-way text messages. Here's a link: Garmin inReach SE+ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRZ9ATL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Mzyzzb43J0QQY
The old timers I've talked to around here recommend the miners moss too. I decided to go with some of this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KXFYT0Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I got on amazon. It was a better deal than the local prospecting shop which I want to support but need to trim off extra expense lately with all my new hobby purchases.
I have a metal detector in my LG G2, I mean in my smart phone. You can use such application to detect, at least, ~~metals~~ some metals.
