We asked KPMG to thoroughly analyze our network to verify if it meets our no-log claims, which are:
PureVPN doesn’t log a user’s origin IP address
PureVPN doesn’t log a user’s assigned VPN IP
PureVPN doesn’t log the specific time when a user connects to a VPN server
PureVPN doesn’t log a user’s activities through its VPN connection
The auditing process was somewhat exhausting as it included the inspection of our complex infrastructure, server configurations, codebase, technical data logs, and global servers.
The process also involved the interviews of our personnel who are involved in server maintenance and database handling. During the activity, KPMG also ensured that the audited technical data logs and server configurations are actually being used by PureVPN, not the other way around.
At the end of the audit, KPMG summarized and verified in its report that PureVPN doesn’t monitor or store any personally identifiable information (PII) that could pose a privacy risk to its users.
Hey u/Hash509, it seems that you're trying to connect the dedicated IP with OpenVPN. PureVPN currently doesn't supports dedicated IP with OpenVPN, but you can switch to PPTP and you'll be able to connect.
Although I am not related to PureVPN by any means. If you can give me a detailed description on what is happening I may be able to help as i have been into just about every troubleshooting step. Unless you are stuck on a refund then that is out of my means of helping.
If you're referring to the PTR records & the DNS then it will be against the IP that you're assigned by PureVPN, which is managed by us. I'm not quite sure what you mean by FDQN here. If it is the static/dedicated IP you're referring to, then the system assigned hostname would be somewhat or . We'd be glad to help you signup for a trial account through which you can test out your desired goal.
Ok so I failed to write my issue as no window appeared for me to type in. I have had very limited success with PureVPN, I had hoped to enjoy the World Cup football on the BBC, as I’d read this was a good option. It sucks. I have no faith in this technology.
Our apologies for the inconvenience you experienced regarding your lifetime account renewal. The lifetime subscription was created and is managed by StackSocial (on their websites & through their promotional channels). All terms, policies, and authorization of renewals are controlled by StackSocial. Therefore, their policies need to be followed.
We understand how inconvenient it is for our users and StackSocial's customers to have to go back and forth to get their concerns resolved and the original deal honored. While legally PureVPN cannot renew lifetime subscriptions without StackSocial's approval, we are still doing our best to escalate user cases.
We understand how frustrating this may be, but that is their policy as they are the Terms and Conditions makers of your Lifetime Subscription. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and hope that you will continue to use our service despite this setback.
Yip. Exact same here. I too, suspected they are both working together due to the wording and timing of emails from both of them. E.g. PureVPN don't/won't reply to your messages until you have either accepted or declined the offer from SC, despite communicating promptly until that stage. I had read someone managed to get the same favorable outcome as you after persisting but I caved at the 2 year renewal. VPN performance has been satisfactory but this whole experience leaves a bad taste. I figure they don't care if you don't buy their service again as they weren't going to get anymore money out of you on a lifetime sub. Shady marketing and business practice. Not sure how VPN Unlimited fits into the whole shambles.
I’ve looked at the Linux or the pfSense pages but they refer the Subscriptions tab which I don’t have. I have the Account & Billing tab but I don’t have the option to download the Wireguard configuration option. Only have a link to Show/Update VPN Password. I never setup Wireguard on pfSense but i have seen a tutorial and it refers to a public key used to get an ip address. I don’t feel like i have that information anywhere in PureVPN documentation/member area.
Hi, I was going to setup PureVPN using Wireguard protocol in pfSense but I have the same problem.
I'm not sure if I already have access to the new member area - probably not. I can't find any reference to Wireguard neither to how setup, where to upload the public key and get the ip from Wireguard.
I’m sorry to hear you’ve been disappointed with your post-purchase experience. We are going to renew your subscription for another 5 years. Unfortunately, PureVPN does not offer a lifetime redemption code so if you’d like further renewals after the 5-year period, you will need to reach back out to our team for renewal. You are authorized to do this every 5 years, for the lifetime of the product. We have notified our PureVPN partners to proceed with your extension. Please give us 24-48 business hours to reflect on your end, or sooner. We suggest that you log out & log back in for the changes to take effect. Hopefully, this gets you squared away! If there is anything more I can do to assist you, please don't hesitate to reach out again! We're here and happy to help!
This story will very likely repeat for YOU, because it has repeated for me. With precisely the same offers and cadence.
First, termination. Next, the offer of VPN Unlimited. Then, $20; two years. Finally, reinstatement for another five years.
PureVPN just stands aside, waiting for you to give up/in to StackSocial's scam.
This stinks of collusion.
I spent this morning shopping for VPNs. Don't bother with surfshark. It had the same issue.
ExpressVPN, although more expensive, seemed to work flawlessly with ESPN+, especially if you use it in an incognito browser.
I ran into the same issue. Led to believe I was not able to get a new license from them? Only to find out they are feigning ignorance? I said ONLY if PureVPN is not available. I’ll take their offer. Which clearly is scamming me from what I bought originally.
Is this still being addressed, I would like assistance as well.

I've tried split tunneling with terrible success. For every 5 times split tunneling works fine, I get one time that it doesn't and my torrent traffic doesn't go down the VPN tunnel. Then I get letters from my ISP, so I can't risk it anymore with split tunneling.
Instead I manually set my protocol in the PureVPN app to IKEv2, and while I do see a speed/performance hit - I do still have access to devices on my local LAN with this protocol.
I bet you've figured it out by now but depending on your system the PureVPN app is likely to come with an option in the settings called split tunneling. It means that you can route your internet traffic through the VPN and keep your home network like usual
>PureVPN has a page showing the list of servers supporting different protocols here this helps because it lets me programmatically test VPN connection speed and latency on a regular basis but doing the same isn't easily doable with if all we had was a list of server addresses it would help. It sounds like they have about 120 or so Wireguard servers, the name of the cities and countries are easily accessible but the servers IPs are not, unlike the other protocols they support.
>
>Does anyone know how we can get this short of driving the UI that generated config for each city?
Hello, thanks for the response but this reiterates what I've stated that I know in my post and doesn't add any new information.
Try contacting both. I was given an option with a slightly inferior VPN, KeepSolid.
That said, short of contacting an attorney and looking at a class action lawsuit, I don't think PureVPN will honor the agreement. Might be best to simply spread the word and not use their products any longer.
Hi!
Your interest in the latest Linux GUI is really motivating for us at PureVPN and we are continuously working on making it better.
You should be seeing Wireguard support in the Linux GUI app very soon among other improvements.
I would love to hear what other feedback or suggestions you might have for us!
>Ah it's not just me then. I was continually pushed over to Keepsolid VPN finally I got this offer:
"I’ve received approval to extend to you a one-time offer for a two (2) year extension of PureVPN - at no additional cost to you.
Please note that if you choose to accept this offer, you will be agreeing to waive any future renewal obligations by both StackCommerce and PureVPN.
If you’d like to extend your PureVPN subscriptions for 2 additional years, please send me the email address that is registered with your PureVPN account.
We look forward to your response and the chance to get you squared away and satisfied in the future! We appreciate your cooperation on this issue.
Stay safe, stay healthy, and Have a great day!"
I finally relented and just asked to move over to keep solid but my parting reply did include:
>"A two-year extension on an initial lifetime purchase with a waiving of future renewals (sigh). I'm still yet to see a clear explanation from either stack commerce or pureVPN how a lifetime deal becomes a 5-year deal? If it was within Australia I'd be taking you to the ombudsman for false advertising.
Seems like some of you had more luck than I. But seriously how do you sell a non-lifetime 'lifetime licence?'
u/PureVPNSupport Greetings, I've submitted support requests to PureVPN and StackS/C for renewal of the 5-year(Lifetime) subscription. Stack responded with the alternative offer with another provider, to which I've declined. Please advise on next steps for renewal with PureVPN.
Many thanks!
Problem still there. PureVPN app breaks down widgets and apps that use Next Alarm feature (like HomeAssistant). App removed, i'm waiting to repair it.
I found Pure VPN did not help, they referred me back to stack social who offered to renew PureVPN for two years and no more. The other option was life time with keepsolid VPN.
Disappointing behaviour from both stack social and PureVPN
No doubt the mod here will offer to help, but so far they have done nothing to resolve the problem.
I see that from searches, usually u/PureVPNSupport has helped. I contacted purevpn directly and they told me I had to deal with stacksocial. Stacksocial said purevpn no longer is honoring the lifetime subscription. Was the lifetime subscription a total scam? I don't often have need of a VPN but when I have, purevpn has been my go to.
There are multiple factors, such as the location of the server or level of encryption, that can affect the speed of the internet connection while connected to a VPN. Please allow me to understand your current setup and requirement, so that I can troubleshoot this issue for you.
1- Speed test with and without VPN.
2- What tools or apps are you using to determine your connection speed?
3- Does this happen on a specific server location only or on all server locations that you connect to?
4- What device and operating system are you using to connect? (Along with OS version and PureVPN app version)
5- Registered email address.
In the meantime, please try to connect to the IKev2 protocol and re-check the results for different servers.
Just to be transparent. This is what PureVPN dm me. They are not honoring the lifetime membership and pushing it to stack social.
Hey, as StackSocial is the terms and condition maker of this particular deal you would need to contact StackSocial of your decision if you want to stay with the alternative or not as they will be approving your subscription
I just had the same exact issue. I purchased a “lifetime” subscription in 2016 which evidentially was a 5 year subscription that ran out in august 2021. I tried to renew it by following the email instructions:
“Subscription term is for 5 years. At the conclusion of the 5-year term, customers may renew their subscriptions completely free-of-charge by contacting .”
I’ve done this and this is what their response was: “Hi Kyle,
I hope this email finds you well!
Thanks for writing back! We understand where you are coming from but as much as we would want to, as an online marketplace, we take care that each transaction is carried out smoothly between our vendors and customers.
In this instance, until their recent notification, we were completely unaware of their business decision so we are left with offering you this alternative.
Just in case you’d like to change your mind, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited was featured in:
PC Mag's Top VPN Editor's Pick Award by Software Informer Laptop Review Pro's Best VPN for Laptop
They also offer 24-hour support and their team of experts is eager to help all their subscribers. Feel free to check out the FAQs in the meantime.
I’d also be happy to issue an inconvenience credit of $20 credit to your account. The credit can be used toward a future purchase of your choosing.
Looking forward to your reply, Daniel J. Customer Support Team Member”
I don't have s clue what the problem might be? I am a old account user and all devices are running just i am a happy PureVPN user. So what is all that migrate trouble about? Migrate sounds so bad that i don't like it very much? Can't i not just be happy?
I followed the instructions and my web page did not match what was shown in doc, so I gave up. I figured it was just another case of poor support. Overall, I would give PureVPN 1 star and have no plans on renewing.
I've also had lots of problems recently - up to a few months ago I could get good upload/download speeds, but now I turn on my VPN - and no other apps - and see it uploading and downloading an awful lot of data. If I go to my Activity Monitor I can see it showing lots of traffic. With the VPN launched BUT NOT CONNECTED, I'm seeing 10-100 'packets' being sent every second, same being received - but I haven't connected to a VPN at all yet, what the hell?
I've now connected the VPN - again, no other apps are running except text, activity monitor, PureVPN, and this Safari window - and there's been over 500kb up and over 400kb down in one minute. At 3 minutes, I'm at 1.24MB uploaded, 740KB downloaded.
But on top of this, I need to access torrent files, and torrents aren't moving at all - 0.0% up an down, while this is still building.
I pushed back... When PureVPN cut me off, I complained that I had bought a lifetime subscription. They passed me off to StackCommerce. I sent StackComnerce screen captures of the original web pages from five years ago that spoke only if a lifetime subscription, and said nothing about any five year limitation. Later web pages do try to assert that the "lifetime subscription" is somehow limited to five years (how does that work?). StackCommerce relented, and agreed that I had purchased a lifetime subscription. They then extended it for five years more, telling me I would have to go through this again five years from now. PureVPN did then reinstate my account, though they did a half-assed job... Sometimes I can log in to my PureVPN web account, but other times not. Whose fault is that...
So yes... It is all sort of scummy, but then it doesn't involve big bucks, and a service is being provided that I'd worth the low fees they charge. A real shame that either StackCommerce or PureVPN is trying to rip people off for low bucks. Which outfit is doing it... StackCommerce, PureVPN, or both, working together? Hard to say...
I am sorry for the inconvenience faced:
The most effective way that caters to this problem is by following the steps below:
2: Run as Admin
3rd party antivirus if active then disable it to check (for testing)
Restore the firewall as the default
Allow PureVPN from Firewall or add to the exclusion list
then check both IKS or Split tunneling and share the results with us. Also, make sure you are using the updated application.
u/PureVPNcom hey, can you look a this as well please _consumes_significant_amount_of_cpu_on/ ? Thanks.
UPD 2:
Yes, just confirmed that this is because of animation in "Dashboard" screen. If I switch to another screen without animation, like "Profile" screen for example, before closing main PureVPN window then CPU load drops to near 0. If to stay on "Dashboard" screen and then close the window — CPU load still there.
Yes, I just noticed the same and that's not normal. I also have ZenMate VPN and it dosen't consume CPU when VPN connections is not active. PureVPN however consumes noticiable amount of CPU when VPN connection is not active. I have only icon in status bar, app in doc closed (setting in preferences).
I just ran into the same problem. Same story that they cannot honor the LIFETIME subscription with PureVPN, and instead push KeepVPN on me. This looks last a vastly inferior product, and is also much cheaper than PureVPN.
This is very much an illegal bait-and-switch in my opinion. Is there anything we can do?
I refused to agree to their KeepVPN offer, and since then there's crickets from Stacksocial (more StackAntiSocial)
Being in the same situation, My response to PureVPN:
The current answer from Stack is as follows:
“I’ve received approval to extend to you a one-time offer for a two (2) year extension of PureVPN - at no additional cost to you.”
At first they offered KeepSolid VPN Unlimited as a replacement and an inconvenience credit of $20 credit to my account.
Where Stackcommerce does not keep up to the contract, there is no way PureVPN did not know unlimited licenses were being sold and agreed directly or indirectly, by letting it happen. As an end user I should not be in the situation between both companies.
The difficulties in communicating and agreements with PureVPN and Stackcommerce about a simple user agreement made me realize both companies are unreliable.
If your support and licenses are unreliable, there is no reason to trust the security of the product portfolio.
This being said, I lost my interest in PureVPN.

on to the PureVPN folder in Defender which would prevent it from scanning that folder. This is how to do it:
1- Temporarily Suspend Defender:
Select Start > then open Settings!
2- Under Privacy & security; select Virus & threat protection!
Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings, and then under Exclusions select Add or remove exclusions!
3- Select Add an exclusion, and then Select; PureVPN Folder from files, folders, file types, or process.
A folder exclusion will apply to all subfolders within the PureVPN folder as well. No more False Positives on PureVPN and you can Turn Defender back on.
Meanwhile, we have submitted our "PureVPN" app for malware analysis to Microsoft since they flagged it as a false positive. We don’t have an ETA from the team behind it yet, but I’d say we’re close to a solution and we will let you know as soon as it's updated.

>PureVPN 8.4.6-PRODUCTION1589 + macOS 10.14.6
The issue has been resolved, please reinstall the app with the updated version 8.5.0. Do let me know if you are facing other issues you can dm me or connect on our Discord as well
Just to follow up, I confirmed in my PureVPN account that they provided me with another 5 year license. While not "lifetime" specifically, I do have it in writing that I can get an unlimited number of additional 5-year licenses.
I call this a success.
PureVPN benefitted and grew exponentially because of the lifetime sale on various platforms.
I purchased through Stacksocial which I consider the Groupon of software and online services.
If a restaurant told me they wouldn't honor a gift card that I purchased on Groupon, they would have to prove to me that they did not authorize the terms of the gift card purchase from the very beginning to convince me that the burden of liability didn't rest solely on me.
It should be PureVPN's burden to work with Stacksocial to address the discrepancy with what they both agreed to sell, and thus benefitted from.
Instead, PureVPN is pulling a unilateral maneuver that adversely affects both retailers' reputations. Albeit, Stacksocial is doing a great job of trying to provide an alternative service at no extra charge.
In the future, when I am being baited by the term 'lifetime', I will no longer just be wary of the quality of service, but I will be on the lookout for the unexpected termination of service. Lifetime should mean by the end of theirs or mine.
We recently added a speed test feature to the app to measure your connection speed before and after connecting to PureVPN. This was introduced to help us connect you to the optimal server and provide you with the best experience. Unfortunately, while implementing this feature, we encountered a bug that was setting up an alarm on users' device every time the speed test was run. Thankfully, our team worked on it and the issue is now resolved. To avoid this issue, you'd need to update the app.
To access Dedicated IP you'll need to setup a manual configuration:
Go to your home screen and tap on “Settings”
Tap “General”
Tap “VPN”
Tap “Add VPN Configuration…”
Manually add the following information: Enter “PureVPNIKEv2“in the description field.
Enter the server address. (dedicated hostname)
In the “Remote ID” field Enter " "
Enter your PureVPN Username,
Enter your PureVPN password.
Do let me know if you need help, I'll be more than happy to guide you through it
I'm having the same problem, they are trying to give me a replacement product instead of renewing my contracted purchase. It's bad form for stacksocial as form reading the posts in this thread, the fault lies with them. I have been happy with PureVPN and dont want a different service. Has anyone been successful in renewing it?
Hey u/PureVPNSupport, I'm on the same boat, pureVpn lifetime subscription "expired". And StackSocial offered me keepSolid as replacement. Don't want to go that route. Could you help me renew my pureVpn subscription?
btw anyone had a chance using solidVPN? How good is that?
The answer I received is they do not support OpenWRT. A VPN company should not force you to use their closed source application to use their VPN services as this is a major security risk. We are still waiting on an Open Source solution to using Wireguard on PureVPN.
I am sorry for the inconvience faced!
Allow PureVPN's .exe file as an exception from Windows and 3rd party antivirus software (if using any). Steps for exclusion as follows:
Windows Defender Firewall:
- Select the “Start” button, then type “firewall“.
- Select the “Windows Defender Firewall” option.
- Choose the “Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall” option in the left pane.
- Unchecking the box to the left of the application name disallows it from accessing network resources, while checking it allows access. You can also check the boxes to the right of the name labeled “Private” or “Public” to allow and disallow the app on private or public networks respectively. Set PureVPN's exe to both Private and Public.
-If PureVPN is not listed, you can click the “Allow another app…” button to add it.
Chiming in here as well, I got the PureVPN lifetime subscription from stack social and the same thing happened to me. PureVPN also provided the same response just now. Submitted a ticket with stacksocial and waiting for their response.
If PureVPN or Stacksocial cannot honour their deals then they are just plain ripping us off? I'm also not looking for any other alternative.
Never trust PureVPN or Stack Social. I too paid for a lifetime subscription only to see PureVPN will be cancelling my subscription next month. Despite what both companies want you to believe, Stack Social is still selling and PureVPN is still taking the money for "lifetime subscriptions" sold on . They both know they will not honor the purchase yet they are both still taking money from people after selling them a lifetime subscription.

My pureVPN account has expired as well when I purchased a lifetime account. I contacted purevpn support and they said they can't help me and I have to talk stackcommerce and they haven't responded back to me. u/PureVPNSupport! could I get some assistance please?
Finally the subscription period has fixed AGAIN! But I’m just wondering when will this happen again and again? To be honest, I’m totally lost the confident of this company!! As usual, they sent me an official apologise email.

I think I am being robbed by this bastard PureVPN for another five years subscription. Hey guys you got to be careful because the money you deposit to their account they probably will say they didn’t receive it. This is absolutely unbelievable. They did not change my subscription back to 2028 still staying on 2024 and just sent me a fucking email as the following.
it seems that dates are not reflected on Member area we have reported this issue to our Member area team once we will get any update from back end team we will update you accordingly.
Edit: what a crap company crap workers crap service, everything seems to be is so fucking crap!!!!!
Hey u/eupeuta we are glad to know our product is meeting your expecations!
Speeds can vary depending on the server, device, and time. It's hard to predict what speed you'll get because it changes with each individual usage of your VPN service - but I recommend connecting directly through SuperVPN Support for further assistance in this matter!
Glad to see I'm not alone....although I hate we have to go through this! Like you all i contacted PureVPN and was directed to StackCommerce. They are suggesting i move to Keepsolid. I am arguing back that they promised to extend it if I contacted them priot to expiration. Yet here we are!
Hoping u/PureVPNSupport can help here too!

I'm stuck at the "a one-time offer for a two (2) year extension" and shut up stage.
Stackcommerce also gave me the KeepSolid VPN Unlimited offer. (valued at $39.99)
Keepsolid is based in New York (US jurisdiction, Five Eyes intelligence alliance) and this does not make me feel comfortable.
I think the real problem is with Stackcommerce/Stacksocial and NOT Pure VPN.
They are responsible for the terms and conditions
I AM GLAD (not really "glad") that others have experienced the same thing. Like all of you, I had logged into my LIFETIME PureVPN to see it was expired! And given the same run around that everyone got ... being constantly pushed off by support, never got renewed and got the run around from Stack Social to go to KeepSolid. It is / was and still is bullshit.
Like many of you I also have the receipt in black and white that shows I paid for a lifetime subscription and fully expected PureVPN and StackSocial to HONOR that deal. BUT it has not happened and it has been MONTHS.
I see others are getting some success in getting their accounts "reinstated", and I hope that I will be able to get the PRODUCT I PAID FOR reactivated. ... Hello u/PureVPNSupport hope you are hearing this and help me with this issue!
I have updated my post. With my last communication they have finally offeredd to perform their aprt of the contract.
I have updated my post. With my last communication they have finally offered to perform their part of the contract.
Nevertheless, I'm keeping their last email safely guarded. As you can imagine my trust in PureVPN is at a historical low and I have no real guarantees I won't be going thru the exact same ordeal in 5 years' time
Hey u/serlex00, Miguel, I am sorry for the trouble that you have been facing with your lifetime issue. But please understand that your agreement for the lifetime subscription is with StackSocial (meanwhile PureVPN is just the service facilitator).
We are more than happy to nudge StackSocial from our end on your behalf, however, we do not control the lifetime subscription nor its policies. If you can share your email address with me in chat, I'd be more than happy to escalate this with StackSocial but please understand that the terms & policy-maker of this subscription is StackSocial.
I am going through the same issue. First they offered me a lifetime with KeepSolid VPN Unlimited. Which I know nothing of their logging or reputation. Then they offered that plus 20.00 credit on stacksocial. Their final offer was a 2 year sub to PureVPN if I let them be done with me. They say it's PureVPN, PureVPN says it's on them. Either way I did pay for lifetime sub with PureVPN and someone needs to set this right. Is KeepSolid VPN Unlimited even a decent VPN?
>Long story short, I got the 7 day trial and decided not to continue the subscription, more recently I decided I want to give PureVPN a 2nd shot and buy 1 month, I log in with my phone just fine, but my PC says my sub is expired, I also noticed my phone is using a different username than the pc client is, I contact live support and they couldn't fix the issue but they "reported it" and I should be getting an email soon about getting the issue fixed... I know that, and that's part of the problem. Simply logging in via email on windows doesn't give me control to tell the app what Username to use for PureVPN on PC, and the windows application is auto selecting a username with an expired subscription and not my active one my phone is using.
Same issue here - offered the alternative product and, when I said no, StackSocial have said I can have a 2 year renewal to Pure VPN but to "Please note that if you choose to accept this offer, you will be agreeing to waive any future renewal obligations by both StackCommerce and PureVPN."
My lifetime subscription also expired a few days ago. I contacted PureVPN and they directed me to StackCommerce.
StackCommerce told me that PureVPN is no longer honoring the lifetime subscriptions so they substituted me with a lifetime subscription to KeepSolid VPN.
Hi u/PureVPNSupport, My lifetime subscription ran out about a month ago. I contacted MacAppware StackCommerce Support. They offered the swap to VPN Unlimited for free. The rub is that I like PureVPN and already have a lifetime account with VPN Unlimited that I bought at the same time from them. After going around the merry go round with them a few times, they finally offered a special one time offer of 2 more years. I would really like to continue the lifetime PureVPN service which I purchased. I use it occasionally while traveling, and it has saved my bacon. If there is anyway to do something, I'd appreciate it. Best regards, D
I know what I am doing, Firstly I joined PureVPN is your colleague offered me a yearly of $11.88 so I joined. Then I paid another five years membership so I was using it happily. And then I was accidentally press the wrong button and bought another five years subscription but this one I got refunded. So that means I’m still leaving a one year and a five year subscription in my account. And this is I am definitely sure. I have no idea why your VPN such big company has such poor accounts department. Finn Was checking it fine on her way but suddenly she’s gone. I wish she can continue to check for me. Because most of you are arbitrary. Never make a serious investigate and just say the five years membership has refunded to me on 6 March, but when you see that invoice I sent the five year membership fee I was paid on 7 March , also I’m under a installment that means I’m still paying for that subscription, then how can I get the refund? This is very clear to show you guys are not investigate seriously except Finn.
Edit: This is a ultimate email I’m sending to you guys because I’m fed up to talk to those people with inability. I do not mind being robbed a thousand dollars because you guys let me find out how useless you are. If I were you guys I can be the CEO.
My lifetime subscription will also run out in a few days and I contacted StackCommerce Support and got the same email response as most people here.
Getting the offer to switch to KeepSolid VPN.
I would rather like to keep my PureVPN service!
Hoping that u/PureVPNSupport can also help me!?
I have not heard anything from PureVPN on this issue. Overall, there support for Open Source based connections has been poor, and they seem to focus all their energy on their Closed Source applications, which for me is a non-starter.
I am looking at other VPN providers, as PureVPN is just not meeting my needs. Other providers support Wireguard on OpenWrt routers and support using the Open Source Wireguard clients for my different platforms.
while u/PureVPNSupport is helping me get my case escalated, I am continuing emails on my side and this is the latest one I received. Copy and pasted.
"Hi again,
I apologize for the inconvenience and I’d like to see if we can make this right for you.
I’ve received approval to extend to you a one-time offer for a two (2) year extension of PureVPN - at no additional cost to you.
Please note that if you choose to accept this offer, you will be agreeing to waive any future renewal obligations by both StackCommerce and PureVPN. "

My lifetime subscription expired a few days ago as well. It was purchased back in February 2017. Had a live chat with purevpn last night. Sent email to stack commerce. And they offered keepsolid. Messaged u/PureVPNSupport. Hope you can help. Thanks.
So StackSocial forced PureVPN into a contract? Or was PurnVPN complicit in knowing that there was no lifetime subscription from the start.
PureVPN knew at the time of doing business with StackSocial what the terms of the agreement were/are.
And they also knew what the terms were for customers at the 5 year mark, which said customers were lied to and falsely advertised as such.
We shouldn't have to chase 2 companies. Both stack and purevpn are questionable at best.
I hope a lawyer with a lifetime sub is annoyed enough to take on a side project and correct how you do business.
Hey, please send me your email address via chat, we will escalate your case on your behalf.
The lifetime subscription was created and run by StackSocial (on their websites & via their promotional channels). All the terms, policies, and authorization of renewals are controlled by StackSocial due to which, their policies need to be followed. All renewals will be authorized through StackSocial as they are the Terms and Condition makers of your Lifetime Subscription
We understand that this is in no way ideal for our users & StackSocial's customers to go back n forth to have their concerns resolved and the original deal honored, Though legally, PureVPN cannot renew lifetime subscriptions without StackSocial's approval, we are still doing our best in escalating user cases and as you'd have seen, many of them have been resolved
I just to update my status. After going back and forth with StackCommerce, finally my subscription is restored for another 5 year. After that period, then I can contact them again for another renewal.
Thank you PureVPN and StackCommerce for working this out.
Yes, PureVPN or through configuring it manually into your phone setting!
Same issue as others here. After turning down their keepsolid offer just been offered a 2 year extension only on my lifetime purevpn subscription "I’ve received approval to extend to you a one-time offer for a two (2) year extension of PureVPN - at no additional cost to you. "
Stackcommerce are cowboys
Does this mean that perhaps the earlier response by your team was improperly phrased? Possibly you meant to say,
"While the WireGuard protocol and example clients are themselves Opensource - at this time PureVPN has chosen to implement support for WireGuard solely through our proprietary client. We are currently working on generic support for WireGuard using the available Opensource clients."
Would such a statement be accurate? Or, as I am neither a PureVPN employee nor a customer, am I misrepresenting you?
>I have used PureVPN for some years. A couple of months ago I encountered a case where, despite having the PureVPN IKS enabled, and PureVPN never disconnecting (as far as the Windows Notification centre showed, and the fact that PureVPN stayed connected and the computer stayed online), detailed information about my IP traffic clearly leaked. PureVPN support has been unresponsive about it (they acknowledge that I complained about something, but they never asked for log files or tests, and they never got back to me about anything). That does not inspire confidence :-(
Hey could you please share your email address with me via chat so we could get your issue resolved!
Thank you for the clarification. Indeed, after multiple conversations between both companies, I squarely placed the blame onto StackSocial and would have held them -- not PureVPN -- legally liable for breach of contract.
With that said, I appreciate that both companies are now working to find a more user-friendly way to renew as having to do this again five years from now would just be undesirable.
My subscription has been extended another five years, for those reading this thread (while VPN access was unavailable during that time).
Haha, it’s always just a matter of time until the calls for a Class Action come up. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it’s a lot of man hours to jump through a lot of hoops and, tbh, for someone at my hourly rate, it would cost a lot more than the class would stand to recover if successful. Remember, in any class action award, the lawyers get their money first.
My advice: read a little bit about contract law. The elements of a valid agreement are all there (between you and StackSocial that is…PureVPN has nothing to do with it). They made an offer, you accepted, and gave consideration. It was in writing (so no “statute of frauds” issues) and no other affirmative defenses apply (e.g., impossibility, statute of limitations, frustration of purpose, etc.). Take that knowledge and advocate for yourself. Yon have performed your obligations under the agreement, they are trying to get out of theirs. Don’t agree to modify the agreement by accepting anything less than full performance. It’s not your problem when they say “oh, PureVPN doesn’t have 5-year plans anymore.”’ They’ll have to figure it out or be in breach of contract. Let them know (nicely - it works much better than getting your ire up) that you are aware of these things and you just want what you are entitled to under the valid agreement between you and them.
Good luck!
Hey u/M-S-Y, your concern is completely valid. However, we'd like to add some clarity here:
The lifetime subscription was created and run by StackSocial (on their websites & via their promotional channels). All the terms, policies, and authorization of renewals are controlled by StackSocial due to which, their policies need to be followed.
We understand that this is in no way ideal for our users & StackSocial's customers to go back n forth to have their concerns resolved and the original deal honored. But we are already discussing implementing a more user-friendly renewal method as the current way is not beneficial for either party.
Though legally, PureVPN cannot renew lifetime subscriptions without StackSocial's approval, we are still doing our best in escalating user cases and as you'd have seen, many of them have been resolved. Once again, we are aware this is not the most ideal way but while we are working with them to streamline this, we highly appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.
WOW! This seems like a mess. I was told long time ago too that we could re-extend every 5 years, but that seems awfully inefficient on both StackSocial and PureVPN's parts to having to do this every half a decade. Why not just create a Lifetime code to apply on PureVPN's part?
With that said -- there was never a mention of having to renew every 5 years. StackSocial also trying to move everyone over to VPN Unlimited and making it difficult to "renew" PureVPN is a deceptive practice. Meanwhile, I have been without VPN for nearly a week.
Anorthor victim here
I purchases PureVPN on Jan 20, 2017
They offer me Keepsolid but I refused
and they offer me one time offer for only 2 years subscription and no more renewable in the future.
What a scam is this company.
If u/PureVPNcom read this please DM me because Im a new user and I cant start chat
That's understandable. Btw, you can connect to PureVPN without using the app through manual configuration. Though, the new WireGuard protocol isn't currently available via manual config. However, our dev team is already working on it and you should be able to do that quite soon.
It’s caused by StackCommerce (or whomever is behind that branding and others). They’re the operation collaborating with a bunch of web sites and are selling the subscription.
Clearly we don’t know the detail of the contractual or other business arrangements with PureVPN, but it’s having an effect on the PureVPN brand when these 5-year subscriptions expire and StackCommerce then waves some other provider’s offering under our noses.
Here’s hoping the PureVPN support can help you sort it, as they’ve helped a few of us.
I finally got escalated to a higher support tier at StackCommerce and am told that they will give me the 5-year renewal (such as was originally agreed). They also said that I will be able to do this in the future, every 5 years; at least as long as PureVPN exists. I have yet to officially get it, but if I do not reply to this again, you can assume I did receive it.
So if you have issues with this, be persistent! The PureVPNcom MOD was very helpful in getting this to work out properly, as it seems they helped get my ticket with StackCommerce escalated.

StackCommerce email as of 11 Feb 2022:
“To ensure your satisfaction. I've received approval to extend to you a one-time offer for a five (5) year extension of PureVPN - at no additional cost to you.
Please note that if you choose to accept this offer, you will be agreeing to waive any future renewal obligations by both StackCommerce and PureVPN.”
I am still thinking about what/how to reply to them as I don’t wish to “WAIVE” my purchased LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION of PureVPN from StackCommerce if and when I take their one time 5 year offer renewal

Updates:
1. PureVPN had me contact StackCommerce
2. SC pulled the same thing as will others - trying to feed me a sub-par service.
3. As seen below, PureVPN is helping out which is very much appreciated!
Thanks - figured it out.
My partner had enabled ISP content filtering and this was blocking connection to the PureVPN servers.
I did find it interesting that (UDP) VPN tunnels were still establishing though…

I also have the same issue. I recall inquiring a few years back about the sudden appearance of an expiry date to the license/subscription and I was advised that it will simply be renewed. I love and want to keep using PureVPN, so u/PureVPNSupport, may I also please ask for your assistance in making StackCommerce honor my lifetime subscription to your service? Sending you a DM in a bit. Many many thanks!
I'm not getting any error message, I just realized that I only can use Blokada or PureVPN, not both at the same time. But I've found a pdf on your website how to configure content filtering on Android, but your app doesn't have those settings ;source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwiL3en6yeb1AhXLt6QKHZXqAlMQFnoECAUQAQ&%2Fcontent-filter-in-purevpn-android-app%3Fformat%3Dpdf&usg=AOvVaw2kGElU_WCoBrdBdpRn_DOL
As others here, I was told to contact StackCommerce by PureVPN. their reply was the same as to others here, a bs offer for random service (KeepSolid VPN) and I'm not interested.
Hopefully u/PureVPNSupport can help me out in staying with PureVPN. I've been really happy with it for the past 5 years! :)
The same here I bought my subscription 5 years ago and I'm in a back and forth with stackSocial for almost a month now. They've been trying to push me towards "Keep Solid VPN" but I like my PureVPN subs. Can anybody at PureVPN helps me here? Thanks
