It's good that you're scared. Means you're doing something right.
"The more important a call or action is to our soul's evolution, the more Resistance we will feel toward pursuing it."
That's from Steven Pressfield's The War of Art, a book you might want to look into. Could push you farther down this positive path you're on. Best of luck!
Hey I’ve been in your shoes! I’m a personal development and mindset coach and I specialize in helping people find their purpose and turn in into businesses. Over the last seven years I’ve helped over 150 people find their life’s purpose. If your interested I would to talk with you. Let’s schedule a free strategy call. https://calendly.com/s/mZwRMUsH
I personally found that taking time to intentionally self-reflect and connect more powerfully with my purpose was life-changing. I spent 10 years climbing corporate ladder, landing a job I thought I always wanted, and was left feeling deeply unfulfilled. I realized I wouldn't be fulfilled until I connected with my purpose and pursued work that would specifically allow me to bring my purpose to life. There are helpful prompts and frameworks to guide your thinking. Look up Ikigai if you haven't already. I also highly recommend thinking back to all the moments in your life when you've felt your best. In those moments, insignificant as they may seem, what was your contribution and what was the impact you were having? If you build up an inventory of those things, you'll start to see themes emerge. Pull on the threads of those themes to get clearer on your purpose. I'm actually presenting about this next week. Feel free to join if you feel inspired! https://calendly.com/chrisrollins-me/pathfrompurpose
Love it, I am interested also!
I am also doing something similar so would love to chat whenever you have a moment to share learnings / successes :)
I had the same type of situation until I read Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. While reading the book I came to this awareness that there must be some type of work that only I can do; either others don't have the drive to do it or they're not qualified to.
What is the work that only you can do?
If that doesn't help, let me know if this does: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6HuTgzM_2o
It's a guided meditation for finding your purpose that I made.
"What was really needed was a fundamental change in our attitude toward life. We had to learn ourselves and, furthermore, we had to teach the despairing men, that it did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life—daily and hourly. Our answer must consist, not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." -Quote from Man's Search for Meaning
