This isn’t exactly what you asked for, but I had the same problem which I solved with this. My phone fits very nicely in the little hatch underneath.

It was a gift, but I believe this is the one. Note the AUX jack in the center below the display, that should be present if it’s really an RCD330, is what I’m led to believe. Cheers!
I also had a 2015 Passat with an RCD510 (not premium, though). I ended up needing this to get the OEM camera to work:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N91FYY9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
(Note that this does work for 2015 models, even though it says 2014.)
Best of luck!
Yeah there are definite advantages to a full fledged Android device for sure. I'm just wondering if the RCD330 being able to speak directly to the car has any advantages in my case. In particular if it might make some menu options available for the vehicle that are otherwise "hidden" on this model.
The Andoird unit I'm looking at is custom for VW and follows their design cues so it should look pretty decent.
Any coding at all would be a considerable disadvantage as I don't have access to VCDS or an OBDEleven. Considering I have the lowline MFD and don't have a MFSW I guess I don't care about them. The Android Unit I'm looking at has an OEM look at least if not OEM quality.
Nope, you need a signal filter between the power splice and the cam, something like:
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Signal-Filter-Reversing-Clocked-Current/dp/B07GQ8XWY4
Filters the power frequency so it stays stable.
Scosche CRTVW01 Compatible with Select 2009-2014 Volkswagen 26 Pin Camera Retention Harness https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N91FYY9/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_F4SVBNX8EBTR9V1JN080
Scoshe is a brand name and is highly recommended.
Otherwise you can search for VW camera adapter or VW CVBS RGB camera adapter. They're out there.
I had the same problem. Got one of these adapters and it fixed the issue.

I had to buy an adapter for my Oem camera to work. I have a 2015 Jetta with the 26 pin connector

Hahahaha men titta 😂😂 samma land samma lagar!
I also replaced an RCD 510. I went through a few adapters, but this is the one that finally worked for me in my 2015 Passat: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N91FYY9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
(Note that while it says 2009-2014, it does work for 2015.)
I can't speak to differences between the Jetta OEM camera and the Passat OEM camera though. Good luck!
Not sure what you want to accomplish with that nighter what that lines in that sercice-tag will do.
My guess is: It allows certain android-apps to be executed or to transfer data to them.
For example the VEX Service app.
Don't know if you can add these lines or of you brick something. I think you should be fine - but no guarantee.
Well, I ran two wires from the radio area over to the fuse box (one for power the other for ground), then used an add-on tap similar to this: https://smile.amazon.com/Nilight-NI-FH02-Circuit-Adapter-Warranty/dp/B0742BZXC2/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
The tap that came with one of the radio pieces (at some point - I went through a few adapters before I got the Schosche) seemed kind of suspect/low quality so I wanted to rule out electrical supply as an issue.
A multimeter will help you figure out if you are getting current as far as the adapter connection, and help you narrow down where that current is missing.
Like you, I had no definitive fuse box map to work from. I found about five different ones online that purported to be for my model and yet looked nothing like what I had, so there was lots of trial and error until I found the right one for me.
I also ended up using the Scosche adapter with my 2015 Passat SE and it's OEM camera.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N91FYY9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
(Note that even though it says 2014 in the title, it does work with 2015.)
Like beancounter04, I connected the wire intended for the backup light with the regular power wire and connected both to the fuse box with a fuse tap. Make sure you tap a fuse that is powered only with the key on, rather than always powered.
Best of luck to you!
I had quite a bit of trouble getting my OEM camera to work when switching from an RCD510 to the RCD330. Went through two adapters and a replacement camera from AliExpress. Defective products? Maybe. Bad karma? Possibly. But what ultimately got it was the Scosche adapter mentioned by slibretti. https://smile.amazon.com/SCOSCHE-CRTVW01-2009-2014-Volkswagen-Retention/dp/B01N91FYY9/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 Been in for two weeks and rock solid so far. So glad to have my camera back.
(Note that you will also need the video adapter wire for your quad connector - it usually comes with the radio, often referred to as a "gift". It's got a blue box on one end and a yellow RCA (female) on the other. It replaces the blue connector already in your quad.)
Also, that Scosche adapter DOES work with the 2015 model year even though it isn't labeled that way.

Installed in a 2008 passat, noname rcd330 Rerouted the usb to the rear and ran a cable to my armrest. This way i can easily charge my phone if needed and keep everything out of sight.

Thank you for publishing that guide. It's will be very helpful for me with running the wires.
That adapter from Lemonshark didn't work for me either now i get to install a new camera, i was hoping to avoid running that line but oh well, at least i have your guide to help.
One note, if you have a VCDS you can disable the airbag light without going to a dealer.
Also, if you put the car in neutral with the handbreak engaged you are able to lay the trim down over the gear shift without unplugging the light.
I ended up getting a slightly different unit that came with a filter and delay for the video feed, if you have issues this is the adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VMZHFW1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For anyone else, I plan to use taps to connect to the power and such rather than cut and solder. It's a little easier but it will also make it easy to swap out anything that goes bad.
Just purchased VW 2014 Jetta Sportwagen TDI and also want Apple CarPlay.
This unit on Amazon seems to be what most people are going with:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BSP6Y24/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza
I have lots of questions based on some reading I’ve done before I dive into this:
I have read that this unit will not work with the backup camera. Seems like most units come with a camera adapter - does this not work?
It also seems like most people ended up installing a new aftermarket backup camera - is this necessary?
Are there battery drain issues? What do I need to avoid battery drain?
I have also read that I would loose TPMS function with this unit. Has anyone experienced this?
How does the media display on the instrument panel? Will it show the song title/artist?
How does this work with the steering wheel controls?
Will this work by plugging my phone in to the “MEDIA IN” line center console? Or does it have to be connected to the USB in the unit?
Difference between 6RF 035 187F and 6RD 035 187B or the 187E ?
Are there other radios that would work more seamlessly? (No need for a new backup camera?)

> fakra adapter
I had to get another one as the included one had a couple issues regarding my application (2008 rabbit). -the supplied adapter fit but the wire coming from the adapter to the rcd330 was on the wrong side and the adapter is directional so I couldn't just flip it upside down. -I ended up buying one that was more of a 'Y' that had two wires converging into one (off amazon, since I wanted it right away).
I agree with the guy suggesting trim removal tools. they will come in handy when you install the rearview camera. however I would suggest this set (or similar) the metal pry tool really comes in handy with the friction fit plugs holding carpeting down etc. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07917TDL6
Is it sold from the Aidu Auto Technology guy? If so— just message and see if he can put it all in one package.
I recommend plastic tools off amazon, just because you want something sturdy in case these are weak. These were strong for me. KLTECH 4Pcs Auto Door Clip Panel Trim Removal Tool Kits for Car Dash Radio Audio Installer Pry Tool https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HNMLQAG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SC26EbAEXB9D2
You can try this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gb.aahelper.hr just install and run. When the light is on and you dont have an auto switcher with light sensor you need this. And set the AA phone controlled in developer settings.
