MUCH closer to what I need! :) But not ideal for me because the way they are arranged in the box, the wide side where I want to put a label with the tobacco type, is not visible.
I ended up getting a 20 pack of just the compartments: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B094FXLH8Y
And one day I'll find (or build from wood) a short box or basket to hold them.
This is not exactly what we use, but it is fairly close.

The one we use works fairly well, and holds right at 2 cartons. We roll once a week, and it does the trick.
If you want to look at other containers that are available, search spaghetti storage containers and look at the ones where you lay the spaghetti down.
I use this sealed cigarette container that I found on Amazon. Before I got it, the few I had kept out got stale or tasted too dry. Keeping them in here makes a huge difference!
They're okay, but I found the way the hinge protrudes to be really annoying and they don't hold as many king tubes. Personally preferred these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B094V2SYVF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Smaller overall profile and they'll hold 18 kings, more than any other I ran across.
Thank you, I accidently posted the wrong Hawk link. All three are around 200$ bosting the same features. The Hawk3 is the one i was looking at
Honestly pretty much every brand of tube I've used rips a little at the end when you're loading, from time to time, but I use a single cigarette hand injector. This is the type I've mostly been using for twenty years, but mine happens to be a Brookfield. I would have killed for a Powermatic 3 back in the day but I rarely smoke these days so it's not worth the investment and therefor I can't speak to that type of machine with any type of tube. I do have a Powermatic 2 which I don't really like using I never noticed that ripping was any more common than a hand injector. Honestly, it's probably worth just experimenting with because one box of tubes isn't generally going to break the bank.
I will say if you're buying online Imperators have the advantage of being well-packaged for shipping, sometimes my Zen's arrive crushed when I buy them from Amazon.
No, light tubes don't burn faster, the length of time a cigarette burns comes down to length of tube (100's vs King usually) and how densely you pack the tobacco into them. A tighter, more dense pack is going to last longer and be more full flavored which is part of why I like RYO: I can tune my smoke to what I want right now, kind of like choosing a cigar to suit my mood and the time available.
IMO smoking should be a hobby less than a habit since it's so bad for your health and generally frowned upon by people who don't do it unlike, say, coffee.
(It's not a problem, you can always DM me too, but I like it when people put their questions out in the open).

I found this by searching "Camel Crush style tubes". I have no personal experience. The reviews seem generally good, but it has amassed a 10% 1-star rating which I view as a threshold indicator.
$10 for 100 tubes is rather pricey, but if it gets you SO on the RYO bandwagon... .

Thats where I Shop but they've been out of Berettas recently. I do kings on mine and end up having to knock some tobacco out of the end of the tube and put it back in the hopper. When packed they fit in these perfectly.
Get an electric. It will save you time, money and much aggravation. I used manuals for 20 yrs. Never owned one I liked. The results were always a crap shoot and rolling was drudgery. 2 yrs ago I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Powermatic II Plus on Amazon for $90. It's now $70. The difference is incredible. Consistently good results. Cut my rolling time by 60%. If I could have a do-over, then I'd buy an electric injector on Day 1.
I wouldn't suggest going from Marlboros to filter-less cigarettes.
I would start out buying a machine like This
And some tubes like This
And a bag of tobacco. (Golden Harvest is a good cheap brand.) Your local tobacco/smoke shop will have both the tobacco, and the tubes. Again, Golden Harvest had decent, cheap tubes.
From there, if wanted, you can upgrade your machine. I use the Powermatic 3+. And you can purchase your tobacco and tubes online. I buy everything in bulk. Without factoring in the cost of the machine, only the tobacco and tubes, I'm paying about $0.05 per cigarette. (Which is $1 a pack, or $10 a carton.)
Much better than spending almost $10 per pack, like I was!
These containers from Amazon hold just over 220 cigarettes, and are reasonably airtight.
When I moved from a Top-O-Matic to a Powermatic 3, I started rolling a pound in one session, and keep them in those containers.
I might just have to get individual components and just find a separate tray or short basket tray to fit them on. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08P2QYZ65/ref=ox\_sc\_act\_title\_2?smid=AN8GK6CD8AIJE&psc=1
Yes and no.
I have some slim clamshell-type cigarette cases that I prefer to carry around, but they're not anything close to sealed. So once the humidity starts to drop, they become less useful. If I fill one up with 18 cigarettes on a January morning, whatever's still in the case the following morning will be so dry that it'll turn to dust if you squeeze it. When it's dry out, I use the bulkier plastic Gizeh cases that mostly restrict airflow and keep them fresh for days.
Think of it almost like a hill that starts off "too tight / too harsh" peaks at "awesome", and then rolls down to "dry and stale". In my experience, so much of it has to do with storage and environment that I couldn't really give an accurate timeline on it.
I let the tobacco dry out for at least 30 minutes in a stainless steel bowl, and then I tear it up by hand while removing stems and twigs. I keep the finished cigarettes in Lock & Lock containers which keep them fresh enough for weeks, but seems to trap just enough air for them to be easy to smoke in a couple of days.
If I'm totally out, I'll squeeze from the filter and roll back and forth down to the end of the cigarette, and then pull out the small plug of tobacco that I've rolled out.
Someone else here mentioned using a coffee grinder, though I haven't tried that yet.
What do you guys use to check the humidity of the tobacco?
Do you use something like a Soil Moisture Meter to check the tobacco itself?
Or do you use a regular Hygrometer and basically just monitor the air surrounding the tobacco?
I tried researching what to use to test the humidity when we first starting to ryo cigarettes a couple years ago, but it seemed like everyone had a different answer. Our Powermatic II's were fine with any amount of humidity in the tobacco, so I gave up trying to find the answer fairly quickly.
But, we bought the Powernatic III+ a few months ago, and it seems like it's really finicky about the moisture in the tobacco. It has be just right or the machine will constantly jam. With how fast and easy the PM 3 is, my husband and I have both said that we don't think we could ever go back to using anything else now.
So it looks like I'm back to trying to learn about proper humidity levels & testing. :/
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I shred A pound at a time pulsing it not too fine( that's the key)but just a bit. Put it Ina bowl and then back in the bag... If you do this it will glide through the machine. No drying
https://www.amazon.com/Electric-Tobacco-Shredder-Cutter-Converter/dp/B00O75IZXI
I use this tobacco shredder & like you said I pulse it not too fine but just to shorten it just a bit. And it works Perfect every time.
That's most likely the one you're looking for.. They're pretty standard, so if you have one that goes to say a usb charging dock, or PlayStation or laptop charger, it will work for the PM2/+..
just check the amperage/voltage it says where it plugs into the machine, and just about any power brick with the right voltage should do as long as it can supply enough (there's no such thing as too many amps).. there are plenty of "universal" power adapters on amazon that will do the trick.. something like this https://www.amazon.com/SoulBay-Universal-Switching-Selectable-Electronics/dp/B01N7RS0NG/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3LZYOK4LUO75B&dchild=1&keywords=universal+power+adapter&qid=1615681163&sprefix=universal+pow%2Caps%2C323&sr=8-5https://www....
Also: I've considered getting this finisher

The videos I've seen have really put me on the fence, because it sounds kind of loud, and I tend to make my cigarettes when the rest of my family is asleep. But it should help with trimming the overpack and folding the paper just enough to keep your tobacco from falling out.
I’ve bought 2 off amazon... metal folding types one that can hold 20 that I don’t use because it’s too bulky in my pocket and one that holds about 14
Carved Constantine Pure Copper... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019Q26M5O?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Zen is a pretty readily available filter tube, light blue is the same as a Zen full flavor red. These inexpensive injectors work great for me lately. I guess if you really wanted to go all out, a pouch of Peter Stokkebye Danish Export, some good filter tubes and a an injector. wouldn't be too bad.
I looked into this. Might have to order one.
you want a humidor otherwise, the tobacco will dry out and taste stale. I would check r/cigars for recommendations
for my daily use I use the Top cigarette case
