That would take an incredibly long time to write. I recommend reading this book, and this. The first one explains the evolution of warfare up until the mid 1400s. The second one is a case study of the evolution of martial arts schools. There's a bit of a gap between these books, though, but I'm sure some other people will fill in the gap.
The Hideyoshi taiga can be downloaded from nyaa.si:
And here are English subs for it:

Really good - probably the best Monkey, a very intimidating Nobunaga, a sympathetic and tragic Mitsuhide. Hideyoshi's mom is also awesome, as is his brother Hidenaga (who is often neglected in other taigas). Also Nakadai Tatsuya is Sen no Rikyu, and he plays a big role. It's all very dramatic - you get a lot of wild stories like the gilded skulls, the overnight castle building or the hostage drama with Mitsuhide's mom, but it works out well. Ishikawa Goemon fills the "commoner OC" role and he starts out a bit meh but develops into a great character.

I loved Junichi Okada as Mitsunari, he's the sensitive, brooding type and the role fits him well.
There are so many taigas, I'm set for years :D
It would be a fictionalized version of Karl Friday's: The First Samurai
It's about Taira Masakado and is set in the 10th century.
No need to apologize! You gave me the clue I needed.... "Shambhala Pocket Classics". I found it. Thanks!
I suggest using hickory. The grain is fairly straight and I have one from bugei that is about 20 years old and is holding up fine. On the other hand they make polypropylene blades with saya if your looking to practice noto (the sheathing of the sword).
Here is a link.
Overhaul of history in this book on the three shogun that unified Japan — heavy read

Well if you have a "MA" In Japanese history then you would know what I am saying is to be true and you wouldn't combat the facts. Many articles and books all say the same thing and how he was a warrior. He did engage in battle. Also he was talked about long before is was said there is going to be a movie. No servant would have this much importance if they were just only servants. You mean to tell me they just picked anybody and wrote lies over him and try to "capitalize" on the black panther frenzy. The only thing I question here is the legitimacy on your MA on japanese history. It doesn't take anything but common sense to see how the facts are almost everywhere when you search up his name. There is even statues of him in samurai armor. A servant wouldn't be allowed to wear samurai armor is they are just servants.
I did send you an entire book on him which I'll send again. Seems you may have missed it. African Samurai:

Where did you find out that it was established that he was just a servant? I provided sources that disprove what you are saying. There is even a book about him on Amazon which you can purchase right down here

I mean, literally any books you find on this guy will just only repeat what I said but in greater detail for you. Also once again, if he were only a servant he wouldn't be so talked about in history and the name wouldn't exist to any of us.
