It is possible for humans to devolve. These concepts are covered in depth by Willie Ramos in Santería Garments and Altars: Speaking Without a Voice. I haven't seen him write about this topic in any other article or on his site.

I bring that up as it is said the only way out of Orun Buruku is to be reborn as an animal...sacrificed and from there begin the process of evolving toward being reborn in your ancestral line again. IIRC he covers that as well in the essay in Santería Garments and Altars: Speaking Without a Voice.

no websites. start at the source. yoruba. this book was my entry to really understanding the beginning from foods, spirituality, colonization, how the kingdoms coincided etc.

I know about this book because I found it in my school library after researching some others. When you go to this link on amazon just go to the cheaper options for $10. it's a big ass book. so use it as a reference and read chapters as needed.
