I filled my ninja blender half way with Simple truth brand vanilla unsweetened almond milk and threw in two handfuls of organic blueberries, and then 1 scoop of MCT Oil Powder with Collagen and Acacia - Pure MCT's - Perfect for Keto - Energy Boost - Nutrient Absorption - Appetite Control - Healthy Gut Support – Unflavored https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JF36LHS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_H5A3DNTYPG79PEC4K7TD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I usually get the Walmart brand but I wanted to try something new so right now I have the Amazon brand but they're both great.
An immersion blender will change your life. Really. Easy to use, easy to clean, zero issues.
Just works, perfectly. They sell out lots, but similar.
That was the name of the smoothie at my favorite smoothie place 😂 I suppose they called it clean because there's no banana.
Honestly! The glass was a Christmas gift from my bestie. Idk if this is the exact one but it looks very similar. https://www.amazon.com/Glasses-Insulated-Espresso-Personal-Birthday/dp/B07ZFC7K3F
i personally have the ninja nutri-pro and its easily my favorite kitchen appliance. it's strong enough to blend just about anything into a perfectly smooth consistency.

> FWIW, the Explorian models ALL have a "springy" variable dial that > will go past 1 or 10 if you force it.
Oh wow, that's good to know! It sort of feels like the whole servo motor (or whatever the component is called in this case) that the metal dial rod is attached to starts to turn with the dial, whether or not it actually is. I suppose I'll explore what's going on a bit closer knowing now that it might not be broken.
Btw, you might be interested in these smaller adapter containers, which are especially good for making single- or double-serving smoothies: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XKV4CJP/
They work a bit oddly in that you fill the container with ingredients, screw the adapter on top of it "upside down" (the container remains resting on the counter, like a normal cup would), and then flip the whole two-piece unit over to fit on the blender once you're ready to blend....but it works pretty well and is less messy than I would have guessed. I rarely use the giant 64oz container that came with mine. These 20oz cups come with lids so you can consume straight from the container, too, although I haven't made much use of them.
I paid quite a bit less for them a few years back when I bought it, but I'd still recommend just for the convenience if smoothies are a regular part of you day.
Below is the link to the brand I bought. It comes with a scoop in the container that is 1 gram and I believe it’s 220mg of caffeine for that serving size.
Nutricost Guarana Powder 100 Grams - Natural
Herbal Brazilian Caffeine Energizer Supplement https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081THJL6F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ACGSJ9X1EBFC50AYTYJB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
this is what i got link almost 1500 watts and no regrets, been using for years. Only thing that sucks is when I do 10 banana smoothies i have to thaw them out beforehand a little bit and add water or else it struggles to blend. But lately i been able to keep them fresh without freezing by covering with a mosquito net, we get lots of fruits flies here 😹
Ah, this one?
Definitely more than $80 but still within my budget. The size is perfectly fine, I don't make that much in one go.
I have both a Vitamix E310 Explorian ($350) and also this Ninja, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QJSDBY4/ for $119
I am still in awe how much better the ninja runs circles around my Vitamix when it comes to daily usage.. single serve smoothies.. shredding chicken.. I know it's not a $700 Vitamix and I also know there are many bad Ninjas out there but this one is incredible and has many more quality of life features such as a table suction and suction release.. cord wrap.. 3rd party cups that are the same manufacturer that matches the OEM cups.
Actually because of your precious comment, I found this blender which isn't far off the $100 price. I think I'm going to go with this because I want to do some baking soon as bread is just the best thing. It'll also food processes which is good because when I start growing duckweed for protein, I can use this to turn it into a spread.
I mean technically you could but the drink oxidizes every second and looses nutrients. Buy these link and vacuum seal your drinks in mason jars, I use these lids for my juices because I’m too lazy to clean my juicer everyday lol 😆 I’ve had fresh juice in my fridge for 2 weeks with these things.
Yes! I got the new one from Ninja that u/DeltaSlick mentioned. It’s exactly what I was looking for. It’s never choked on anything I’ve thrown at it.
It’s this one: Ninja SS101 Foodi Smoothie Bowl Maker - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C1DJNR2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_8Z6Q5EQ881AVQKNMPK88
I posted this in another thread but think it could be helpful for you and others attracted by the title:
This tip is from from Simply Green Smoothies by Jen Hansard (blog and book). It lists combos of ingredients you can add to a basic fruit/green smoothie or something to make it closer to a meal replacement (adding fiber, fat, and some protein):
> > use one of these mixes for each two serving smoothie you make: > > • ¼ cup chia seeds + 2 tablespoons coconut oil > > • ¼ cup hemp hearts + ½ avocado > > • ¼ cup rolled oats + 2 tablespoons almond butter > > • ¼ cup plant-based protein powder + 2 tablespoons coconut oil > > • 4 ounces silken tofu + ¼ cup chia seeds > > • ¼ cup almond meal + 2 tablespoons coconut oil
I think these are some good guides; I'd look for even more protein (yogurt, kefir, protein powder) and definitely more fiber (think chia seeds, spinach/kale, maybe canned pumpkin).
And an additional answer on your "fix the nasty tasting smoothie" quandary: very ripe bananas. Thnk bruised bananas. One per full, stuffed cup of kale balances it out, and no need to add any honey or other sweetener. If you're worried about calories, not about adding sugar, a banana is about 20 calories more than 1 T of honey, and you're getting so much more in terms of satiety and basic nutrition.
Try it out.
Also, thought you (and others) could use this tip from Simply Green Smoothies by Jen Hansard (blog and book):

I think these are some good guides (esp when combined w/ a smoothie with green components).
for smoothies your gonna want something that be an investment and last for decades to come with no issues thats why I been using this link for years
Use this Link instead of anything with cocoa in it, it’s healthier and tastes amazing 🤩
I bought a Breville Active Blender (Could be Sage Active Blender in the US) and it works a dream for next to nothing. It even does ice too. I've only had it a few days so can't guarantee it's longevity but using it every day, it's brill. Plus the chamber you blend is your cup, so it's easy to clean.
Been using the Vitamix A2300 Ascent Series for 4 years now and absolutely love the texture it makes. I add a good amount of liquid as a base before throwing in my ingredients then blend half of it for a couple seconds, pause it, throw in rest of ingredients then blend it again for couple seconds and its smooth enough for my straw to suck up with. These are my favorite straws Link and I make 2-3 64oz mason jar smoothies everyday. This is the lid I prefer Link it’s easier for me to walk around with my smoothie since my 64oz mason jar is so big. Also if your blending frozen fruits you might want to let them thaw out beforehand for a little bit before blending them because it’s easier on the motor and you don’t even need to use a tamper 👍🏻
I've got the Oster 3-in-1 (Blender, Smoothie & food processor) and the smoothie setting is the only setting that reverses the movement of the blades multiple times during execution of the program.
I love it. It really moves the chunky bits into the path of the blades no matter how full it's packed.
If you get the same system without the food processor it's a fair bit cheaper.
I recently got one of these tampers for my Blendtec and it has worked out really well, even for really thick blends. It completely eliminates the air bubble around the blades.
i have the 1000W with Auto-IQ. put your stuff in and hit the blend button. 45 seconds later you have a smoothie. if you have frozen ingredients, use the ultra blend button. 1 minute later you have a smoothie.
of the options you posted, i'd consider a few things:
Nutiva Organic MCT Oil, Unflavored, 1 Gallon | USDA Organic, Non-GMO, Non-BPA | Vegan, Gluten-Free, Keto & Paleo | 14g MCT per Serving & Neutral Flavor for Energy Boost to Coffee, Shakes and Salads https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075MD79BZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_NB9AEC8ZND4T691BHQG6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
If you're new to smoothies, determining which vegetables to use is only half the solution--besides choosing which vegetables don't have a strong / over-powering flavor--you've also got to figure out what to use to flavor the smoothies in order to make them taste good.
People have already given you a bunch of great suggestions regarding which vegetables to use--I mostly use frozen spinach, broccoli, and kale myself. Most people flavor their green smoothies by using frozen fruit, but you stated that you're not much of a fruit person. So perhaps fruit isn't a great choice for you. That's not entirely a bad thing, either, by the way, because imo LOTS of people use too much fruit (which results in excess sugar) and not enough veggies, and are in fact really drinking largely fruit smoothies with some vegetables added in.
Do you like the taste of chocolate, vanilla, or caramel? If so, adding a squirt of flavored stevia sweetener to your vegetable smoothie will likely make it taste good. I use the "Sweetleaf Sweet Drops" brand https://www.amazon.com/SweetLeaf-Flavored-Stevia-Sweetener-Variety/dp/B01IYJKZQM/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=sweetleaf+chocolate+vanilla+caramel&qid=1619131962&s=grocery&sr=1-4 but try different brands until you find the flavor you like the best.
In order to improve the texture of the smoothie, I highly recommend adding at least half a frozen banana to it. If you want the texture and temperature of a milkshake, add a handful of ice cubes and blend well. Half an avocado gives the smoothie an even creamier texture.
I don't know if the skinny girl size is any different from nutribullet. I have the regular nutri bullet. I bought a larger size cup from Amazon and it works fine for mine.

The amazon link to the one I got if you're interested
Hi! Thanks for your comment! When you say single serve, you mean like a personal blender? I was looking at this one in Amazon, is this one like the one you have?
What’s up My dude. I got a nutribullet pro+ a about 3 months ago and it’s really good for smoothies IMO. I use lots of ice in some of My smoothies and I’d say it crushes it really well. It’s not extremely loud but it does make a tad bit of noise. Since you said you’re trying to get something for under $100 I found this one on amazon. I’m sure you could also find a newer model within your budget as well. Here’s the link
thanks for giving me the info... I just found it on amazon and it seems to come with 2 cups, I think I'm going to get it

Have you tried Xantham gum? I started using them to thicken milkshakes and it works wonders. I always add it along with a few ice cubes as a last step once contents are mixed. Good luck! Judee's Xanthan Gum Gluten Free(8... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IZDIMCM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I have one of these (or close to it)
https://www.amazon.com/Blendtec-Classic-475-120V-Blender/dp/B00Q23VW38
It is an amazing blender! It makes smoothies much smoother than the juice/smoothie bar at one of the gyms I go to.
Thanks for the suggestion. I ordered two big bottles to test out, each 40 oz. One that has an attached straw spout (brand: Hydrology), and the other that is a tumbler with a straw option and closable opening (brand: Stanley.
I'm going to give them both a test run over the next week or two and let you know how they do.
Question: is the Stanley lid "spill-proof" by your standards, @925Copper? Note that the negative reviews on the Stanley one are because only the 40 oz one appears to come with the advertised handle. No real mention about negative performance otherwise.
Stanley was one of many brands I looked at but didn't end up buying. I also looked at Camelbak as I love their filtered water bottle.
My biggest concern when using travel mugs is ease of cleaning. Being able to get all the parts apart and thoroughly wash them.
The lid on that Stanley is not quite spill proof enough for me. It's spill resistant but I wouldn't be able to put it in my lunch bag and know it wasn't going to spill. I looked at that very mug and rejected it for that reason. (I have a medium LL Bean insulated lunch tote and I take a homemade iced coffee and a smoothie to work everyday. Having a spill proof lid for the smoothie was really important to me for ease of carrying everything. The tumbler I use for coffee or iced coffee I just use the regular lids and carry it.)
I also read reviews pretty extensively before buying and I make sure to read negative reviews because I might care about whatever negative that reviewer complained about. So if the performance got no negative reviews I'd be comfortable buying it as well.
This is the spill proof lid I got for my tumblers. The only spill I had was yesterday morning and that was because I hadn't closed the flip top securely, so totally my fault.
I love spirulina. I bought a jar of powdered spirulina and add 1/8 - 1/4 of a tsp to my smoothies. It makes you feel amazing.
I like this brand. I bought it at Whole Foods.
I got an Oster Versa on Amazon via Warehouse Deals and I've been very impressed by it. http://www.amazon.com/Oster-1400-watt-Professional-Performance-BLSTVB-RV0-000/dp/B00EO1AQUU
I'd say it's every bit as good as a Vitamix and the warranty is 7 years.
Here is the one I have. It does the job, but my leafy greens (looking at you kale) is still so big I have to chew it most of the time. I realize a Vitamix is going to do a wonderful job (thanks to Joe Rogan talking about it so much), but I'm not wealthy enough to blow $400+ on something just because I don't like to chew up my kale. If it's under $200 I feel like I could justify it on a day I want to splurge on myself, and I'd probably still feel a little guilty.
I got a refurb Ninja on woot for like $85. It's a kitchen system so it has 2 pitchers, one is the blender and the other is supposed to be the food processor. They are exactly the same thing just different sizes. It does a pretty good job of blending the frozen stuff and works quick. I believe it has a 1100 or 1200 watt motor. Amazon link.
