I've not seen any strange interaction with my pump and magnets. I have a magnets attached to it constantly. I removed the battery charger cover and replaced it with a little magnetic socket that I attach to a cable to charge it or upload data.
Here's the cable I use for all of my portable electronics: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HQ1V5SP
I've now had 3 different pumps over the last decade or so and never had any interact strangely with magnets if that's any help to you.
There are cases for iPhone that include a battery pack, something like this might work for you? (this was just the first item that popped up on a search as an example, I don't know if this particular one would work for you)
Oops. I thought I attached a picture of it! Here it is: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0711J11YQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
I have my pump in a pocket or in an SPI belt. I've got it inside a case like this https://www.amazon.com/Tandem-Silicone-Insulin-pumpwith-Scratches/dp/B088MGX833/ though, which means when it does fall, the pump itself doesn't impact, the case does. This is also basically what I do to every phone I get.
Never used the included clip. I've carried every insulin pump I've owned over the last 14 years in one of these.
I‘ve been using this (and earlier versions) for my all of my pumps for 14 years. There’s even a little place to carry the infusion site cover clip for when you disconnect.
The EDC and T1 Tactical cases don’t do anything for me. One of several things I don’t like about the designs, they leave the “pigtail” exposed and unprotected.
Been using one of these Nite-Ize holsters for the last 13.5 years with all of my pumps, going back to my first Animas. They are a little different, now than when I first started using them(they changed to a different style clip), but so far it's the best solution I have found for me. I don't really dig the T1 Tactical and similar cases, as the belt clips are way too big, they don't offer any protection for the pig-tail and some of them are just too big, in general(wide).
I have this one and love it. It's a strong clip that sticks right to the pump, so unlike with a case, it doesn't add much bulk and the pump stays the same small sleek size and is easy to slide in and out of pockets when you're not using the clip.
I haven't found anything that I really like, so I still use the case that I used for my Animas and Medtronic pumps. https://amazon.com/gp/product/B001FAPSUG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you're open to a clip without a case, I have nothing but good things to say about the one I use. It's quite snug, easy to apply, stays on very well. I opted not to get a case because I didn't want to add to the size of the pump any more than absolutely necessary. Got it on Amazon.
I just keep mine in a jogging belt it works really well. I don't have to worry about the tubing because I can keep it in the pocket and I can easily change clothes without having to worry about dropping my pump. It also helps protect my infusion site from getting caught on random stuff.
Does yours look like this: https://www.amazon.com/Tandem-Diabetes-Care-t-Black/dp/B01MYGJI6N
If so that's the standard case, which IMO is far worse as the metal band will eventually break off and if you aren't paying attention cause the pump to crash to the floor or to the end of your life line. I replaced two of those metal bands before I got this case.
The one I took a picture of is this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084QBCDHT
Which overall is much stronger, but apparently not as strong as it needs to be for my attempts to unhook it from my belt.
I hate clips in general, they are forever poking me. I typically stick my pump either in my bra or in a running belt under my shirt.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0798XXCT3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is one of my favorites.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IEF8KQ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 This one is magnetic and can stick to anything.
I bought a case from a company called type 1 tactical on Amazon. Cringe name but good product. I also have a pump tubing spooler I bought on Amazon that has been the best thing ever. Titeline Insulin Pump Spooler - Diabetic Accessories and Supplies, Glucose Meter Attachment, Clip-On Insulin Tubing Holder, Holster for Running or Travel, Pack of 1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DJ6LQ6M/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_J0QXREP9ZQZSJR6VDTPB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 haven't caught my tubing on anything since I started using this
I have 2 of these, originally for the Medtronic 670G. It's just a bit large for the X2, there's other sizes out there.
They don't swivel and only last a few years, but they go well with the belt I wear daily. Also seem to protect the screen a bit better.
I use a jogging belt. It isn't super rugged but it's flexible, so it moves out of the way if it needs to. It holds my pump and tubing flush against my stomach so unless I take a shot to the gut it's safely out of the way 🙂 It works great when running and lets me change clothes really easily. It sits under my shirt and stays out of the way. Hope this helps!
I've had good luck with Grifgrip by the roll. Stretchy and sticky. A roll lasts me a year or so, definitely cheap insurance for that expensive insertion sites and sensors.
Cut to whatever shape/size, round the corners to keep them from peeling, add a slit/small hole in the middle for any tubing, and apply. It holds up to sweat well, though running a shovel with the site on love handles can work it off in a day or so.
There is a swivel clip available. However from what I've heard it breaks easy. I tuck the whole thing into a flip phone case.
I've got a Tandem, and my niece has one as well. I bought her this.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CZWXL3F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's Out of Stock, but gives you an idea of what works well for a Tandem and will fit in a pocket. This will re-charge the pump at least twice.
There are a billion models of battery packs, but I specifically bought the smallest one I could find for my pump. There are credit card size ones that will still recharge a pump several times over. This is the one I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082X53VDL
I used something very similar for my old guardian sensor and I would cut out the center for extra protection on my medtronic infusion set when swimming. The transparent dressing is lightweight and protects me from moisture rash. Freestyle Libre Sensor Covers 40Pack Waterproof Libre Sensor Covers-Transparent CGM Patches Without Glue in The Center-Enlite-Guardian-Freestyle Libre 14 Day Sensor Patches https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SLVR6JV/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_Z64RWW73FJ0QC0BBP4ZQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
When it's really hot out, I use liquid Skin Tac before inserting the site. Before removing the needle guard (it's a tiny blue tube on mine), I apply the Skin Tac, let it dry slightly so it gets tacky, then pull off the needle guard and insert as usual. If I really need extra help beyond that, I use Hypafix tape cut in a big circle with a little party cut out so that just the clippy area is open or I cut steps of it and make a weird star looking thing around the edges.
I live in AZ and I never wear patches over my infusion site. I work in HVAC and have soaked through a few libre2's, but started wearing patches over those.. the patch I use doesn't have adhesive in the middle. Maybe try cutting a slit in something like that so you have access to connect?
I use one of the pouches https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M6BUKLQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I took mine off a few months ago after ordering up 5 or 6 of these values l cables: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HQ1V5SP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_K0Z02RVYNHQA9F2M94D0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Saved me pain from walking away from the desk whilst still charging or uploading data. Got them then for all my other frequently charged devices too. Definitely a great purchase for me.
you can buy them on Amazon if you get tired of waiting.... two for ten bucks
I use this pretty much 80% of the time. UBELT
Have a couple and rotate two for daily use and one for exercise. I’m a side sleeper so I’m able to slide the pump within the belt to not be underneath me.
Otherwise I just store in my pocket with the tube through a hole in the pocket.
