DEFINITELY Google "Groupons for udemy". You should see a master list of Groupons. Just start going down that list till it works. You'll know when it works because you'll automatically be re-directed to Udemy and the discount will automatically be applied. Saved me every time for over-paying. Some coupons may work while others don't, but you just have to try cause one usually does.
Now that I'm a student, I don't have to pay shit for udemy, but that's a whole different story.
Actually, the best book for teaching yourself grammar is called Practical English Handbook. I used it to teach myself grammar way back when I became an English major since I didn't really learn grammar in grade school. It was a gem and was all I ever needed. Here is the Amazon link. It looks to be pricy, but If you can find a used book store, it is guaranteed to be there since these sell like crazy to high school and university students alike. https://www.amazon.com/Practical-English-Handbook-MLA-Update/dp/0618422749/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=practical+english+handbook&qid=1606031040&sr=8-3
You're not allowed to share accounts. But here's an alternative: Get the Udemy app on your phone and check it occasionally. They post the most popular courses on sale for $10 USD almost every day. I've never paid more than $13ish (CAD) for a course, including the Ben Tristem course you're referring to. (http://imgur.com/m9q0o8b.jpg)
FYI, Coursera also has a specialization for Game Design from Michigan State which looks pretty good! Coursera also has financial aid available. Basically, anyone earning less than 20k a year or currently in school would qualify. They'll just wave all the fees for their certificates.
Udemy is a really great platform but always read reviews from other people and It's entirely an on-demand format. So no live classes or anything, think of it like Lynda.com but you do not have to pay monthly just pay once for whatever you want. Many of the teachers there will keep things up to date without making new courses to buy and a lot of them send out emails stating that. PRO TIP When you go on udemy to look for the filter option after you search for something you are interested in, go under price and search FREE first. You might be surprised on what you find, however since you mentioned arts and language. Another redditor submitted this, forget which sub, but here 1500 free online courses from Open Culture including arts and languages
Would you be able to land a better job after completing a YouTube playlist? I don't think so? The same goes for Udemy. Do the Odin Project from start to finish, and you will learn the necessary skills to make you competent. Good luck.
I checked the filters... no filters to sort by length... That's definitely an amazing suggestion.
The manual way would be to goto each course. Take away everything past the course name
so udemy.com/course/mycourse/<remove /learn/> and everything after.
it'll take you to the buy now page and it will have how long the course is and you could plop that into excel.

a bit manual.. I didn't even think about being able to sort by time left. good catch!
All great replies here. The only thing I can add is to keep in mind that courses are created independently by instructors; udemy.com is actually just a hosting/marketing site. That's why the quality of courses is so variable -- dedicated teachers will make amazing courses, and unfortunately there are also people who think they can crap out a few videos in the weekend and make money. You need to invest a bit of time to find which courses are worth your time and money.
My advice before you buy a course: Check out the free preview videos, read the course landing page, read the student reviews. Also check out the instructor's profile and see what other courses they have, and what their average ratings are. Some instructors make short free courses (e.g., 1-2 hours) that you can enroll in to see if you like their teaching style.
Source: I'm a Udemy instructor ;) and I've also taken quite a few courses as a student.
I found the problem after doing some digging and also disabling all of my extensions then re-enabling them one by one. I thought for sure that it would be the anti-virus extension so I re-enabled that one first and was able to logon without issue. The issue seemed to resurface once I enabled my PIA VPN extension I started getting the error again.
I find this understandable and funny at the same time. VPNs are supposed to make browsing safer but at the same time uDemy.com does not like when I go through a VPN to access my course content.
If you are having this problem try disabling any VPN extensions you have in Chrome. It might just fix your issue.
try https://stacksocial.com/free they have free courses in your interests some of them you can also find in udemy. you have to create an account and to get the freebie you must "share" but I found if you click the twitter option it will enable the course without the need to share
Here is the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.udemy.android
If you cannot see it, the it isn't in your country available.
You can always use a VPN to change to a country that allows it.
Acutally, so I purchase a few udemy courses on git and command line. But the most useful material I've found is this book call Pro Git. Dead Tree Version here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1484200772/ The online version is free on the official git website.
Just go through the few few chapters and you'll be fine. It's honestly way more useful than anything else I've encountered. It's comprehensive but I went through it in a weekend.
Not much input on command line. I've looking for learning material on CLI as well.
