I’ve read like 99% of those books so nice collection.
May I suggest A Bridge Too Far and Storm Clouds Over the Pacific? I’m just finishing up A Time for Trumpets and also think that’s worth a read.
The vast majority of the German war effort was focused on the Eastern Front, which is why the best films from the German perspective are about it.
The only one I can think of that was about ground combat, was called The Bridge. The Bridge you can rent it on Amazon Prime. The Bridge
I cant recall off the top of my head any others where they are fighting the Allies on the ground on the Western Front. I've seen a few short indie films but I cant recall the titles.
Noice. I've read a couple of those.
If you're interested in the Channel Islands occupation, there are a few fictional drama series made by the BBC you might want to check out. Both are on Amazon prime.
They're not meant to be historical accurate documentaries, but do add some background color to the events that occurred.
Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailor, by James Hornfischer...beyond exceptional. Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand....10x better than the movie. If your into the Navy narrative, I would recommend Ian Tolls trilogy (Pacific Crucible, The Conquering Tide, and a book to be named later). Anything by Anthony Beevor or Max Hastings is quality as well.
The entire cost of the atomic bomb program from development to delivery was slightly less in total than the B-29. Bad phrasing on my account, the total included every cost to produce and deliver, not just the Manhattan Project research, development and production related figures.
There is a book, the Forgotten Soldier by Guy Sajer, that is written by a French recruit in the German Army that gets sent to the Eastern Front and then spent the next 3 years retreating back to Germany. I found it a fascinating read if you are at all interested in the Eastern Front and the shear barbarity of both sides.
Anyone interested in a fiction novel set in the immediate post war period I would recommend The Man in the Bunker: Tom Wilde, Book 6 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09L8NHCTW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_BTG4JQME7FHGBCXEWB9K?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Japan at war: an Oral history.
An absolute must read for any enthusiasts of the Second World War. Contains very varied and comprehensive accounts from an apologetic Army engineer involved in the infamous Nanking Massacre, a Japanese colonist in Manchuria, frontline medic in New Guinea, a abusive Korean Guard tried at the Tokyo Trials, Kaiten suicide pilots, Unit 731 Doctors to survivors of the controversial American air raids.
It provides a fascinating view from the Japanese perspective. Why they thought how they did, the emotional regret they came to feel post war and the trouble many of them have with reconciling with the role they played in one of the most immoral states in modern history.

If you can access the BBC iPlayer it's on there for the next 11 months.

It's cool that you enlisted because of his example.
I saw a book on Amazon that you might be interested in: Memoir of WWII Combat Engineer.
This is INCREDIBLE, SPECTACULAR!!!!!
I will add, I'm extremely impressed. How did you possibly find this? I admit I haven't devoted several uninterrupted hours on this, but even then I don't know if I could have found this.
Given this additional information I'll be doing much more research.
I always have to wait for responses, but I've got a lot of different paths.
I will keep you up to date.
Believe it or not, here is something on the lady who found the dog tag, too bad she's not still alive:
Found the story about Bombadier John Wylder:
Not nearly as knowledgeable as you, but I just want to support the statement that Shanina was bona fide. However, it seems likely that Ludmilla Pavlichenko, aka "Lady Death", may have been a product of Soviet propaganda.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyudmila_Pavlichenko
Apparently there a multiple inconsistencies between her personal accounts, claims made by the soviet authorities, her service records, and the recollections of people in her units. Source: this book. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Avenging-Angels-Soviet-Unions-Sniper/dp/168144285X
P.S. the above also contains extracts from Shanina's diary.
Len Deighton's history, Blitzkreig (published 1980,) tells us that a lot of deserters from the French army made their way to the Dunkirk beaches and were evacuated ahead of the French defenders.
Also, there were several thousand British troops at Calais and no attempt was made to rescue them. They ended up as prisoners of war.

Occupied France, 1943. Returning home from the daily hunt for the rationed ingredients necessary to keep his family pâtisserie open, André Albert finds his four-year-old son in the street, his wife gone, and an emaciated Jewish woman cowering behind the display case.
It’s currently available through AMAZON in both paperback and Kindle editions.
When I was first getting into WW2 history, this was the first serious book on the subject that I read. It's quite long and detailed, but it provides a comprehensive look into all fronts and most important battles and events.
I suggest this as a starting point, as after reading you'll have a pretty decent understanding of the entire war and can focus on a specific front and/or battles that piqued your interest.

This was really good. I had a set when it was much cheaper, but got tired of it after several moves. History of United States Naval Operations in World War II 15 Volume Set https://smile.amazon.com/dp/0762854316/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PR2VC7XH3P9S3RM88HHH

Have another book, this is settled history and nobody but people who suck Nazi dick dispute it
C) Fuck you.
D) Being called stupid by you is like being called fat by Donald Trump.
I'm not arguing with an intelligent person, here, I'm arguing with someone who thinks that Nazis were good actually because his mouth waters when he sees SS uniforms and he wants to drop to his knees and slobber some nazi knobs.
You know if you sucked nazi dick less hard maybe you'd read, you know, the rest of the quotes, and beyond that they signed treaties with the Japanese and Italians about how to divide Europe, Africa, and Asia, and hoped for a temporary armistice with the United States after a military victory in Europe.
After using death camps to industrially exterminate the local populace and grow their own population, the plan was to then, with a massive military force, either invade North America and purge racially impure elements before creating even more lebensraum in central and South America (including more industrial genocide) or to duke it out with Japan at a later date and consolidate their control over the old world before invading the new.
The plan was always to eventually exterminate all other human life on earth except for the Herrenvolk, while saving certain children with acceptable racial traits as breeding stock for a program to create and purify the master race.
This book contains all the maps and writings by Hitler on the subject: https://www.amazon.com/Visions-Victory-Hopes-Eight-Leaders/dp/0521708753
For more about Nazi racial ideology and what ought to be done, one needs look no further than the writings of Hans FK Gunther, whose dick Hitler personally sucked on the topic.
Recommend this one. Covers the ‘43 and ‘44 uprising and how the area was caught in between Nazi and Soviet atrocities
