Can't speak for Outlook, but I use DAVx⁵ (formerly DAVdroid) on Android for calendar and contact sync. CalDAV-Sync is a good standalone CalDAV client.
Which of the Amazon products works for this? I went to take a look just to start pricing things out, and I got to this page and started to get very, very confused....
Try the free MX Toolbox utilities to check the health of your sending domain: https://mxtoolbox.com/

The MX records are the only thing you NEED for Zimbra to work, at least in terms of DNS, that is.
Setting up SPF, DKIM, & DMARC as others have mentioned, is recommended, but not necessary for mail flow to work.
Obiously, other than MX records, you need to make sure your server is visible to the world and the correct ports (i.e. 25) are open.
You can do a basic check for connectivity using MX Toolbox.
For Axigen, we have a detailed documentation that describes step-by-step exactly how to achieve this, including management by pacemaker. It would require adaptation for Zimbra, or, obviously, use of Axigen
Here are the links: - https://www.axigen.com/documentation/high-availability-general-architecture-p589854 - https://www.axigen.com/documentation/high-availability-cluster-deployment-with-drbd-p589853
The second one is the detailed guide.
Good luck with adapting it for Zimbra or, if you choose to try Axigen instead, feel free to reach out if something is unclear.
Community Edition for Open Source no longer supports MS ActiveDirectory or other external LDAP. You have to use the built-in Zimbra LDAP. That or get paid Network Edition and authenticate in a variety of ways.
