Good luck is all I can say. I have a heavy chewer and even the toys labeled for heavy chewers don't last long with him. This is probably the longest lasting toy my dogs currently have, and it has lasted this long because they grab it by the tail and shake it.

This is just an example. You hide treats in the mats and they spend hours sniffing and foraging from it. There are different sizes and difficulty levels.
He is teething.
Get him bully sticks with a bully grip, both can be found on Chewy, will cost you about $20.00.
I use these, but any will do.
Here is the bully grip
I wouldn’t break it in half, it will be easier to crush it then mix it in. Use a pill crusher (Amazon) or pick one up at your local pharmacy.
RC Pet Products Packable Dog Rain Poncho https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00CHPSJTU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_H6aZFbVS1WRBX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Check this one out - our favorite rain coat, perfectly long for basset physics. I had hard time finding coats for Penelope while she was growing. The smaller size went to another growing basset, and she has got XL now. Goes over sweater when cold rain or wet snow.
We have this kind which is more of a flat mat with ridges than the bowl style you see more often. Our basset learned how to flip his bowl style feeder so he can just eat off the floor, so this works better for us personally. Every dog is different! Might take a few tries to find the right method. Good luck!
