Love this song! I think it really says something that one of the first songs by these two (or only Damon? unsure of the timeline) is so characteristically melancholy and influenced. I only found out that there were actual recordings of this band and Two's A Crowd today, and it's such a treat! a lot of the tunes I've found, like this, are actually so great—and not only when you consider that they were made by 20-year-olds. They're kind of bangers.
If you want to learn more about Damon's early projects I recommend reading these newspaper scans and listening to the first couple of videos on this playlist. They're definitely not for everyone, but I personally really enjoy this early style. I'm actually a little frustrated that he didn't really attempt to make music like this again lol (apparently Alex thought it was garbage, although I guess I can hear some similar influences and sounds in Parklife). Who knows, maybe we'll hear Damon returning to his roots in the next Blur/Gorillaz record ¯\_(ツ)_/¯? I'd be a glad supporter!

Is pretty great, though it is only covers the 90's in depth. But it is done by a journalist/radio dj who was pretty close to them

Alex's biography, which features heavily his time in Blur. But from his point of view, which is mostly partying and winding up the other members of the band,
Both books are very amusing, they don't take the band too seriously.
Hey, Just in case you're still looking, I found some from Lyric Genius that seem to be accurate. Just search for the song title,+Blur. I think most of them are there.
Hey thanks so much for the kind words and glad you enjoyed. If you have time and inclination would be great if you can post a quick review and/or rating here as it helps kickstart the dreaded algorithms which leads to sales. But no worries if you got better things to do. Best Andy https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1838271953/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_yqrTFbTD5VAHX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
